Why the Owner Chose Federal Dam
We love the privacy and the sense of community at Isle Harbor. Isle Harbor is an island connected to the mainland via the 'bog road'. Our cabin faces west - and provides amazing views of the sunset over the lake. It is quiet, and far enough out of the cities to feel 'up north'. The harbor provides a safe place to slip a boat, and shopping and restaurants are 20 minutes away.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy quiet family time, fishing, hiking in the woods and evening campfires. Our children love swimming, chasing crayfish in the water, swinging at the playground, competing in fishing contests and going to the Turtle Races in Longville. As a family, we particularly enjoy boating to Bear Island, where we can anchor off the island and swim at the beach. In the summer, we enjoy boating to dinner or jet skiing around the lake. In the winter, we snowmobile the miles of wooded trails.

Facitlities are excellent but we never did get our damage deposit back. The unit was clean when we got there and we cleaned it very thorughly before we left. We had confirmation of this fact from the person managing the property.
Owner response:Last year our cabin rentals were managed by an external property manager. Last fall, we fired this individual upon learning that he was not being truthful in his dealings with our rental clients. We are now managing the property ourselves. Deposits will be refunded per our rental agreement.

From the moment our group arrived at Isle Harbor it was clear to see we had made a great choice when we decided to stay at the rental property at Federal Dam Minnesota. Things could not have gone smoother from the morning we arrived until the day we left. The property caretaker was waiting for us with a warm welcome and quickly when over all the details concerning the rental, realizing how excited we were to be on vacation. The home was beatiful and along with it's northwoods setting makes a perfect destination for anyone looking for a memorable vacation. The location of the property gives one the feeling of being far from the busy routine of the big city, yet you are close enough to enjoy all of the ammenities of the nearby communities of Longville and Walker. Saying that this home was ready for guests does not entirely describe the initial feeling you get as you enter through the door off the great room and get a feeling of the openess and perfectly decorated living area. A beautiful kitchen stocked with every cooking and eating utinsil you will need. The screened room off of the dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy the setting sun in the evening. There is a covered boat slip a few steps from the door in a protected harbor as the property faces the lake in front and backs up against the boat harbor. Although we were there in the fall and did not have any children with us, I noticed a nice swimming beach and play area nearby. I would recommend this property to family and freinds for certain. The whole process from the initial e-mail until the time we left could not have gone better. This rental property is a first class operation and I hope to return in the future.
