Lake Michigan Beach Front house located on the South side of the Holland Channel. Antique filled, wooden frame vintage Art and Crafts Home (circa 1922) on Lake Michigan, in Macataw MI. Gated Community. Large brick fireplace, small rear deck, large front porch facing Lake Michigan, 3 parking places, one in main lot and two in a lower lot. There are some ceiling fans and several table fans. There is lots of sand in the house. Livingroom has a brick wood burning fireplace,rocking chairs, an old butcher block for a coffee table and two couches. Beautiful views of the lake are seen from living room windows, (you can watch sail boat races, and motor boats cruising by and of course swimmers)The couches are not sofa beds. There is no screen door on the front door. Also there are no screens on the windows to the front porch. Just wonderful lake breezes. The side windows do not open. It is almost always cool on the lake front and few bugs. The cottage is as it is, do not come planning to rearrange or change things, it is timeless and restful. We are on the beach, where little changes occur from year to year. This is a beautiful one of a kind old time summer cottage on Lake Michigan! Large confortable living room looking at Lake Michigan, Dining Room and Kitchen and Pantry and 1/2 half bath on first floor.
An old time kitchen with a restaurant commercial stove a dishwasher, and garbage disposal,microwave, and a table and chairs. There are plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware and pots and pans. Everything you need to cook. There is one bathroom upstairs, no tub only a shower and sink and toilet There is a sink in one of the bedrooms, a 1/2 bath on the first floor and a shower outside in the rear.(which is the best) The house can accommodate only 8. There are four bedrooms on the second floor with a rear deck off one bedroom. Front bedroom room has a double bed, rear north a double, front south 2 Double beds and rear south 2 twin beds. The bedrooms have antique bed frames with patchwork quilts. A Webber Grill is in the rear. No crib or baby equipment available. We are not geared for small children or large groups, or family reunions. No pets. We cannot store items you might bring for your vacation from year to year. There are lots of beach chairs and several bikes in the basement.
Rates are quoted for 8 people or less and that is the amount of people the house can safely hold, children and infants count. No sublets. Rentals generally run Friday to Friday. Arrival time is 3:00 p.m. or later and departures are 10:00 am which is the general practice, so that we may clean for the next renter. All reservations require a 1/3 of total within ten days after reservation request. And the final payment within 30 days of arrival. You must follow the Macatawa cottagers Association rules, which are posted in the house and will be mailed or emailed to you.
Cancellation if more that 60 days prior to arrival, 50% of the deposit will be returned if time period is re-rented but loss of full deposit or payment is not rented. If canceled 60 days or less prior to arrival, all payments and deposited are forfeited. We cannot take responsibility for weather or personal problems.

Wonderful two story cottage right on the beach. You can set on the front porch, watch the sun set and see Big Red lighthouse all at the same time! Lots of room for several couples or families. We have stayed here the last three years and enjoy it more each time we stay here. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have stayed at the Nautilus numerous time and I always marvel that a few hours away from our home in Indianapolis we can be sitting on one of the most beautifull beaches I have ever experienced. The cottage has a front porch that is a great place to gaze out at Lake michigan with a cup of coffee in the morning or view the sunset over cocktails in the evening. Truly a lovely spot and a very comfortable cottage to enjoy it from.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family has rented the "Nautilus" cottage for the past six years. We have always found it to be very neat and clean. It is on Lake Michigan with a wide beach and has a great view of "Big Red" . The house is well equipped and is suitable for four couples. The open front porch is great! With a porch swing ,rocking chairs and table and benches for eating . we highly recommend this cottage.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.
