House built for entertaining; will seat a dozen for dining with areas to spread out for more. Great for couples who want to relax, hike, shop or entertain. Great for families. There is something for everyone. Decks are perfect for watching the sunset and late afternoon socializing.
It's great for weddings too! One couple got engaged near the waterfall and then, just this summer came back for their wedding and honeymoon at the cabin! Another family celebrated their father's 60th birthday here.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2001
We built this house and worked with the famed architect Norman Askins to keep it open and airy and all focused around a 100 foot waterfall. You see and hear the waterfall from most of the rooms in the house. The children grew up going to the three story, lovely "cabin" on weekends. The tiles they found on the beach one summer in Italy are imbedded in the front porch, their names on the stones on the stairs that meander down to the waterfall. We just decided to rent the cabin on weekends.. now that our boys are teenagers (you know how that goes.. with tennis and friends etc!) We miss the cabin. But we are happy to share our paradise with you.

Why the Owner Chose Helen
We prefer Saute Nacoochee to Helen because it is less touristy. It is a quiet, elegant, artsy community less than 15 minutes from Helen.. easily accessible since we're just off Bean Creek Road; flanked by HWY 255 at one end and HWY 365 on the other. Also the town of Sautee Nacoochee is just around the corner - ice cream and antique shops, horseback riding and our favorite coffee shop too.
