39 meters long and 5.5 meters wide, a wonderfully large living space
Location: Paris Arrondissement 15, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (On the Seine, Under the Eiffel Tower, Center of Paris)
Accommodations: Houseboat Barge, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Office, 3 Baths (Sleeps 7-12)
This barge is one of the most unique and beautiful houseboats in Paris. It has a main cabin and a back captain's cabin. If you have a large party you can have it all together as one, or you can have just the main cabin, or just the back cabin.
The main cabin, that used to carry the goods to be transported, has two full bedrooms and baths, plus a loft bed in the office, plus two couches that can sleep guests. The back cabin, that was the captains cabin, where the pilot and his family lived, is fully equipped with WC with shower, a kitchenette, a large double bed plus a convertible couch, so sleeps two to four.
Despite being in the center of Paris, nature is apparent just out the door or on the deck. Swans, ducks, and other aquatic life are abundant out the window. On the large covered deck, one can have divine lunches or dinners, surrounded by the shimmering multi-colored lights of Paris, reflected in the water of the Seine. Tourist boats pass, throwing their spot-lights on the nearby architecture, creating animated light shows on the interior walls.
With parking literally steps away, you can be ready to explore Paris or the countryside, without dealing with garages, the nearby RER (inter-city train), and Metro make moving about town just a breeze. To experience Paris on a barge is one of the most exciting ways of "being there". It is not for everyone, just the adventurous, with a desire to experience the unique joys of life.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1980
I am a documentary film maker and enjoy living in a unique private and comfortable environment. I need quiet to work, but love to be in in the center of the city. I achieve both living on a barge. Many of my neighbors are also in the arts.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 15
I live on this boat much of the year. It is the best quay in Paris, near shops, museums, transportation, yet it has the calm of the country. The lights shimmering on the water at night is ever changing and fascinating. The built in romance, the wonderful neighbors, mostly artists, the ability to play music into the night, no neighbors right next door, all add up to a remarkable way to live. the barge has all the normal mod cons, central heat, high speed internet, telephones, two wood burning fireplaces, two very comfortable double bath tubs. Everything one needs and more.
The Unique Benefits of this Houseboat Barge
The experience of living on a barge will stay with you forever. The gentle movement of the river creates an environment for a long and gentle sleep. The changing lights, the reminders of nature swimming by, makes the experience unique. Invite your friends for a drink and wow them with your exotic accommodations. The terrace is an amazing place to have meals, breakfast lunch or dinner. It is magical at night, and interesting in the day, watching the other boats go by.
