Rated #1 in Kailua by Tripadvisor! Step back in time and soak up a peaceful, private, quintessential Hawaiian vacation experience. Romantic setting.
The Hula Breeze is a licensed vacation rental located on a secluded road, only a few short blocks from Kailua beach and minutes from Lanikai Beach. Nestled among tropical gardens, we have taken care to create a refuge of comfort that is designed to meet all your needs.
The Palm Room is spacious and clean. It has a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, hot-plate, BBQ grill and dishes and all the cutlery you will need to cook.
We provide you with fresh local fruit and coffee for your first morning, but you may want to stock up on fresh produce at the local farmers market (Thursday mornings from 9 am -10 am) just a 5 minute walk from us.
You will be lulled to sleep by the gentle tropical breeze. You will awaken refreshed after sleeping between luxurious sheets of 400 thread count on a comfy king size bed. After savoring a breakfast of local fruit and Kona coffee, enjoy sitting by the sparkling pool on the lanai while listening to exotic bird songs.
Help yourself to a boogie board, beach chair and towel and take a 7 minute stroll through a residential neighborhood, protected from traffic and crowds, as you make your way to Kailua Beach.
Rated among one of the best beaches in the US, here you will be welcomed by warm ocean breezes, turquoise blue waters and white sand that is soft and warm. Remember how it felt to be a carefree kid on summer break? Here you can relive those memories.
Go ahead and rent a kayak, surf board, paddle board, bike, kite board or windsurfing gear…all just 10 minutes from your guest suite. The ocean is your playground. Shopping, tennis and golf are also nearby!
Stop off at the famous Kalapawai Market where they can make you a delicious deli sandwich for a picnic lunch or serve up a latte just the way you like it.
Once you return to your home away from home at the Hula Breeze, rinse off in the outdoor shower, hang your wet things out to dry and perhaps take a nice nap before heading out to the charming town of Kailua. You’ll be surprised to find many restaurants to choose from in all price ranges.
You will be eager to return to your spacious suite where you may lounge on your comfy bed and perhaps enjoy some pineapple/coconut ice cream….sure to give you the sweetest of dreams.
If you choose to venture out to explore, Kailua is the perfect get-anywhere location. The island of Oahu is only 40 miles tip-to-tip, so you can explore it all quite easily. Honolulu and Waikiki are just a half-hour away. As your on-site hosts, we will help you discover and enjoy our beautiful island.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hula Breeze.

We debated for awhile about whether to stay in Kailua or Waikiki for our first trip to Oahu. We opted for the former and chose The Hula Breeze! This was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beach, and forget our everyday problems. Allison was warm, welcoming, and offered advice about the area; the accommodations were simple and clean; the backyard was delightful. We loved Kailua and are glad we chose it as our "home base" on Oahu.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I really loved staying at the Hula Breeze. It was an experience that allowed us to feel like we were part of the community rather than being at a hotel. It was so cozy and Allison was very accommodating. The location was close and convenient to all of our favorite places and we weren't far from Waikiki if that was where we wanted to spend the day!!! Thank you for making our stay so warm and welcoming. It was perfect and we will be back! Diana and ToddRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

The “Palm Room” at The Hula Breeze was definitely a great find!! The hostess, Allison, provided all the comforts of home and was available to assist in anyway she could. The property was exactly as described and even more than expected. The welcome breakfast was a treat, and the sweet mini pineapple, assorted fruits and muffins were just scrumptious! The location was perfect…on a quiet cul-de sac, walking distance to beautiful Kailua Beach as well as to quaint Kailua town, brimming with great restaurants and shopping. The tranquil and tropical oasis in her backyard with the pool and lounge chairs was an added bonus! The next time our travels bring us to Oahu, we will return to The Hula Breeze to experience the spirit of Aloha! Mahalo!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We just spent 3 lovely days staying at the Hula Breeze B & B in Oahu, HW. The room and its many furnishings were first class. The owner, Allison, was a very gracious host. She was generous with her time and expertise, thereby making our trip quite enjoyable! The beach was only a short 5-minute walk from the room and it was never crowded. The neighborhood was both lovely and quiet. A & MDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful experience. This was our first experience with VRBO and we couldn't be happier. We spent the first few nights of our honeymoon there. Allison was a gracious host while also allowing us privacy. We loved Kailua and the suite and will definitely be back to celebrate future anniversaries.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We came to Oahu for a close friend's wedding and we were the only couple who did not stay in tourist-trap Waikiki. I cannot tell you how happy I am that we stayed at Allison and Sven's Hula Breeze Palm Suite in Kailua! It was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing to come home to after a day of sightseeing, beach and wedding activities. The suite, itself, is gorgeous, cozy, extremely clean and exudes island flare. If we were able to stay longer we would have made good use of the lovely pool (as well as the available laundry). We also loved how we were conveniently located within minutes from the beach, shopping centers, and many great restaurants and cafes. Allison and Sven were generous hosts who made sure we were happy and comfortable. We definitely recommend this property and hope we can come back soon!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This place was exactly as described. It was cute, comfortable and clean. It pretty much has everything you need . You want to store leftovers - there's a fridge. Want to eat your leftovers - there's a microwave. Want to go to the beach - there are towels, snorkel gear, umbrella, etc. Need to wash sand out of your hair - there's shampoo and conditioner. At night you can hear the calm breeze flowing through, it's like there's a sleep sound therapy system in the room. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The beach is very close by and there's a little market too so you can grab a sandwich and some drinks to take to the beach. During our trip we spent some time in Waikiki and North Shore and Kailua by far has the best beach! Thank you Allison for your hospitality. I was sad to leave, but happy I came.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

After much discussion as to where to go to celebrate our 25th anniversary we decided to return to hawaii We had been once before and loved it. Much research went on and we decided to stay at Hula Breeze in Kailua. It proved to be even better than we had hoped. Allison and Sven are terrific hosts--mixing the right amount of attention without being too involved. We loved our suite--quite spacious with everything you need. The location is walking distance to one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen--plus a short 30 minute drive to Honolulu if you want to go into town. They provide beach chairs, beach towels, coolers etc. so that you don't have to rent or buy all that stuff. Their property is beautiful with a pool and tropical plantings. Lulled to sleep by the sound on wind through the palm tees and woken up by the birds singing. I don't know if it gets muc better than that. A perfect way to celebrate! We hope to return to Hula Breeze--truly a small paradise.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Hula Breeze was a wonderful place to relax. The Pineapple Suite was comfortable and well stocked for all our beach fun! The suite was clean. The pool area was serene and was a great area to enjoy our morning coffee. The inn is convenient for evening walks or walking to the beach & the market. Allison was warm and inviting. Hula Breeze provided us a true "paradise" to relax and enjoy one another. The B&B provided so much more opportunity for relaxation & romance than our stay in Waikiki. We hope to return & would recommend this inn!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Hula Breeze B&B, Pineapple Suite, was the perfect base for our first visit to Hawaii. Situated in a residential area with easy access to all areas of the island, plus within walking distance to Kailua Beach Park, this 'home away from home' was a wonderful surprise. Allison and Sven have created a welcoming studio suite with attention to detail and all the comforts of home. We highly recommend these accommodations. Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We love to travel and we love our Hawaiian home. In 1998 we took a year off to visit 17 different countries. Our travel experience gives us first-hand knowledge of what makes a simple room a “second home.' Sven speaks fluent German. Allison is a counselor who listens well in any language. Ellie is our friendly Bernese Mt. Dog who wonders how she ended up in Hawaii. We are happy to share our “local” perspective on activities, sites to visit and restaurants.
Why the Owner Chose Kailua:
We have lived in many spectacular places, but Kailua offers us the ideal location to pursue all our passions. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is just a few blocks away. Hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking, windsurfing, kite-boarding and more are available just a few minutes from our home. We can walk to the quaint town of Kailua or take a 30 minute drive to Honolulu for world class cuisine. The tropical weather allows us to enjoy water sports all year long! Not to mention the warmth and kindness of our Hawaiian neighbors. We have found one of the greatest places on earth!
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
Sven and I live on the property, so we are available to answer questions and make sure your needs are met. We are located in a quiet, residential area surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation. Our suites are large and private and include a lanai looking out to our gardens. You will have access to our pool daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm. You can walk to the beach or town in 10 minutes or less and kite-boards, kayaks, bikes and windsurf boards are available for rental just around the corner from our home.
