This is a place inviting you to feel at home. Applegate Guest Cottage (formerly the Granny Flat) is spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated.
On warm days you can lounge in the shade of the flower-surrounded back porch, or warm up on cold rainy days next to the electric fireplace.
The cottage is close to a bike path and on the Corvallis bus route. It is within walking distance of coffee shop, grocery store, financial institutions, post office, library, quilt shop, restaurants, wine tasting, and more.
Corvallis, home of Oregon State University, is located just 10 minutes away and offers a friendly home-town atmosphere with a variety of stores, river front restaurants, and a wonderful farmers market (Apr-Nov) with fresh local produce, fruits, flowers, honey, jams, and more.
The magnificent Oregon Coast is merely 40 miles west. There you will find a variety of things to do including crabbing, whale watching, deep sea fishing, walking on the beach, and visiting the Newport Aquarium.
Numerous hiking trails are 10-30 minutes away at Mary’s Peak, Bald Hill Park, and McDonald Forest.
And, if you like birding, the Willamette Valley is the place to be.

Our family welcomes you to Applegate Guest Cottage! My husband is from Malawi, Africa and was a mountain guide for 14 years. I'm from Oregon and work at Oregon State University. We lived in Indonesia and Malawi from 2008-2011 and were introduced to the cottage in 2009 when we came to Oregon for our daughter's birth. Two years later, we had the opportunity to buy the house and cottage.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
When you enter the cottage you will want to kick back and relax. It's very quiet and cozy and the sofa and bed are very comfortable. Most people don't want to leave. It is a very spacious studio (640 sq ft) that has all the amenities of home.

My family and I stayed at the Granny Cottage and it was MORE than we expected. The property was spotless and perfectly maintained. Glenda was a perfect hostess, we felt as if we were her house guests. She provided us with ideas of things to do around town and beyond. The cottage was a piece of heaven!!! It had everything we could have asked for. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives anytime.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We came to Corvallis for my oldest daughter's volleyball tournament and were lucky enough to find this lovely cottage. It was perfect for myself, my husband and our younger daughter (plenty of room for a blow-up mattress for her). Very clean and nicely appointed... there was even coffee ready for brewing in the morning. The cottage is just 5 minutes from downtown Corvallis (in Philomath), a very quiet and peaceful spot. We look forward to staying here again next year!

Glenda and Jim have created a very welcoming atmosphere in the Granny Flat. The smell of freshly baked bread greeted us and that was just one of the many welcoming touches they provided. It was the perfect place for us to base out of as we explored the area's activities and environments.

We loved staying at your guest house!! We think it's extremely cute and comfortable. So much better than a motel room. We really loved the pooltable, fireplace, cofy couch and attractive decor. Not to mention the quietness, great towels and sheets. Very cofy all around!I would recommend it to anyone. The photos on your flyer don't do it justice. Hope it's available to rent again when we're here seeing family!

Jim and I came over for yet another Army training week-end. While he was at his training I was in my cousins wedding in Corvallis. We had a wonderful time, as always at the adorable cottage. I slept like a baby in that bed! We can't wait to come again.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. You are a wonderful hostess. It was so cozy and pleasant. It was nice to come here where it was quiet from my sons house where he lives with 5 room-mates! His fraternity was nice but wild. We are going to the coast Sunday. I'm so glad I found you, it was great!
