Lovely views from every room (and the "always-hot" hot tub). Beautiful soothing lake views from the living/dining room, kitchen and upstairs bed.
Simply yet thoughtfully furnished for a relaxing or playful getaway. Two bedrooms (one quite large) with sleeping space for up to six (3 beds) and one full bathroom (with tub).
All cookware is provided, as well as condiments, teas and spices. Whip up dinner in our galley kitchen (all appliances) or on the Weber gas BBQ or choose any one of the dining options in Langley, Freeland or beyond.
Get away from it all any time of year...no television, cable, internet or even microwave! You might be surprised how many guests comment in our guest journal about how much they enjoyed having nature and the option of quiet times.
In the cooler weather relax by the fireplace rocking chair or cuddle up under a cozy comforter with the kids and read a book - all ages games, books and puzzles provided. Kids can hide-away in the nook under the stairs or play with blocks and toys.
In Summer...Dangle your feet off our dock into the refreshing lake water and soak up afternoon sun or watch and listen to eagles as they fish for dinner (or catch your own). GO JUMP IN THE LAKE! and then warm up and relax in the hot tub located on the private back deck.
Roast up some marshmallows for s'mores on a cracking fire in the rustic fire pit or take the canoe (life jackets provided) for a tour around the lake. Many guests take the canoe out regardless of the season! (Read about their adventures in our guest journal.)
When, or if, you are up for exploring the magic of the island there are plenty of choices. Trails, beaches (Double Bluff is great for kids and dogs with its' shallow rippling waves and broad stretch of sand), galleries, shops and live theater (not to mention the popular Clyde movie theater in downtown Langley with cheap seats and even cheaper popcorn prices).
We are happy to provide you with info on local, seasonal activities ranging from Farmer's Market at Bayview Corner to various art tours, favorite dining spots, parks and coffee haunts.
All natural linens (cotton and down) are provided including towels for the hot tub. Washer/dryer in the kitchen for guest use. Cleaning and paper products are provided. (We pride ourselves on use of natural and recycled products whenever possible.)

I don't want to give this place a good review because I want it to be available the next time I decide to get away. This place was amazing! Hot tub was awesome and hot. The bedroom upstairs is the place to sleep. A great place for our dogs to run around and explore. We will be back. Thank you.

We spent the Christmas holiday at the Goss Lake cabin and had an incredibly good time. Our group included my husband and myself and a grownup daughter and boyfriend and dog. The setting and cabin is very relaxing. We spent hours putting together zigsaw puzzles while watching Eagles soaring just ourside the large picture window overlooking the lake. We had a fire going, which kept us cozy even when the electricity went out on Christmas Day! The hot tub added to the relaxation. We even took the canoe out several times for peaceful tours of the lake. The house is simple, yet comfortable. And dog friendly, which was important to us. We were sad to leave, and look forward to returning in the future. The website is very accurate in it's description of this property. No complaints, just compliments.

This is our second stay at this adorable cabin on Goss Lake. My family with two young kids (8 &4) cant get enough of this place. Canoeing, tubing and swimming in the lake. Watching a pair of bald eagles looking for their dinner. Relaxing in the hot tub after playing all day. Kids were so entertained with watching the birds, legos and the other games in the cabin I almost finished the 1,000 piece wolf puzzle. The cabin is clean, wonderful and perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for giving my family another summer of amazing memories.

What a great little getaway. Went with 3 girls for our annual "girl trip" and had a wonderful time. The cabin is cute and cozy and we all slept great in the beds provided. The kitchen is small but we managed just fine. The big windows were nice in the morning to have breakfast and look out over the lake. And the lake was just what the doctor ordered. The weather was beautiful so we spent lots of time just hanging out on the dock, listening to music, talking and of course swimming. We took our tubes and ropes (to tie off to the dock so we didn't float too far away) and very much enjoyed the quiet beautiful setting. The birds were fun to watch and even saw a couple of eagles. Evenings meant dinner cooked on the grill and eating at the picnic table on the deck. As the sun went down and the weather cooled the hot tub was just the ticket. No TV and no cell service to really speak of which was fine with us. It was nice just being with each other and very much enjoyed the whole setting. Small towns nearby to do a little shopping or some beach combing. What a great little getaway!

I debated whether to give 3 or 4 stars. Let me preface my review by saying that I'm a very picky and a very neat person. ;) Pros: - VERY kid-friendly! We really appreciated this. There was a small kid table in the cabin; plenty of toys, games, etc., and even a chalkboard tablecloth on the picnic table with a little dish of chalk so the girls could draw outside! - The hot tub, of course. Clear instructions; easy to operate. - The view; one night we sat in the hot tub and watched a bald eagle in a nearby tree for what seemed like forever! - The disconnectedness; no TV, no internet, etc. It's nice to "unplug". - The upstairs "loft" was cute. Our girls (ages 2.5 and 4) loved it. They called it their "bedroom" and were very comfy up there in their "own" space. - It's pet friendly. It's usually hard for us to find a place that will welcome our 90+ pound Yellow Lab, but Dori did. :) - The washer/dryer. It made it SO easy to pack lightly and not worry when the kids' clothes got messy, etc. - Dori was easy to reach when we needed her. - The canoe was lovely; life vests were in excellent condition and there were a variety of sizes (including ones to fit our young girls). Cons: - I opted for the "pay Dori to clean" option, even though we were only staying 2 nights (I figured the time it would take to do the laundry would cut way too much into our last day). That said, I still felt like I had to leave the cabin pretty clean (well, ok, for me, VERY clean - see disclaimer in first sentence!). I also felt like paying her to clean and then having to strip beds and pile up laundry, AND remove our own trash was a bit much. This policy left me wondering a bit. - The comforter covers were in great need of washing. I realize these aren't washed in between guests, but I wonder at what interval they ARE washed. - The pillows need to be replaced (at least on the bed in the downstairs bedroom). Pillows just get too old and used by too many people after a while to continue being used in a rental like this. When I rent a cabin/room/etc., I expect a pillow that isn't stained and smells fresh. - The slope of the property to the water is steep, and there is no "beach". I wasn't expecting that, and was hoping there would be open beach space to play. Perhaps the description of the property should include the fact that the property's grade is so steep? - Expired medications in the bathroom medicine cabinet.

My husband and I had a such a memorable time here. To get away from it all, to come to this cabin and relax, explore and find time to be with each other was a gift. Waking up to a view that this cabin offers is a great way to wake up. Our only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough. Friday to Sunday is just not long enough for a cabin like this. If you want to get away from the TV's, cell phones, and internet, to not think about work or responsibility and to take it all in.... don't stay for just a weekend. I will say this, if you are opting to clean the cabin your self it takes longer then you think. We tried to clean as we went and still we underestimated ourselves. Just allot a little extra time to cleaning (if that is what you choose to do) We will be back this summer so we can actually enjoy everything the lake has to offer; kayaking, swimming, sitting on the dock with our morning coffee! One last thing, the pictures posted on the listing don't do justice to this cabin and its surroundings. I hate to recommend this place because I want it all to my self, but you wont be sorry if you choose to stay here.
Owner response:Thanks so much for your thoughtful response, I'm so glad you found the cabin as special as we do. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

We have visited this Goss lake cabin three times and will be back. It is the perfect, relaxing family escape. Simple, but comfortable. We love that we completely unplug -- no TV, no internet, no phones. We love the great deck and hot tub, and the size of the lake - easy to canoe around! After exploring parks and beaches and quaint towns on South Whidbey, it is nice to come back to the cabin, cook our own meal, gather around the fire place for games and reading and napping. And our boys love sleeping in the cozy nook in the loft. Thank you! We'll be back, The Walkers

Our weekend was wonderful. The house is comfortable, provided well for all of our needs, the hot tub, easy to operate, was delicious. The biggest gift of Goss Lake for me was the great outdoors. We canoed our second morning, spent the first watching eagles, meeting dogs and horses on hikes in central Whidbey. The lake view from the cabin was an added boon for the time we did spend inside. Owner was responsive, helpful. The info book she provided was perfect and truthful(!) For example the upstairs bed not as comfy as the futon in the same room. Had I read the info book, would have saved a sore back. Would not recommend sleeping more than 4 because of that. Small washer/ dryer another good reason to travel in a smaller group. While I did not travel far to make my Goss Lake escape, what I found there is a lovely mix of the best of the Puget Sound's natural beauty (beaches, forest, island towns)
Owner response: Thanks for your great reply. I am adding this reply in hopes of offering more info about sleeping arrangements at the cabin. When I asked this guest about her preference for the fold-down futon and discomfort on the other she mentioned that she'd been in a major car accident in her 20's that may affect her choices. Please keep in mind that every guest has different mattress preferences due to body shape and size, health issues and just personal comfort. The beds at the cabin offer a variety of sleep options! Upstairs in the loft there is a full size flat futon mattress made of latex which sits on a wood frame on another built-in pedestal next to the view window. It has a cotton and wool topper (for warmth and cooling). This mattress is somewhat firm, and offers the benefit on minimizing movement of a sleep partner (no springs). I personally have a latex mattress in my home and it is my preference. The other futon, a fold-down type, was recently purchased to replace an old futon which many people found uncomfortable and challenging to unfold and fold. It looks and feels really comfortable, probably less firm than the other, but I have not tried it yet. In the downstairs bedroom there is a standard queen size mattress/box spring. This is the only bed I have personally slept on and I found it comfortable. I would say it is fairly firm. There is a fold-out couch in the living room. From all reports it is not comfortable or recommended - perhaps kids would be happy on it.

We stayed over New Year's with our two girls, 7 and 22 months. No TV or internet was great for us to disconnect...but we were glad we had the portable DVD player for the kids! We didn't get to enjoy the canoe since it was below freezing, but the hot tub was fun and clean. We used the fireplace with Duraflame's to keep it toasty indoors. It was very clean, plenty of linens...and of course close to our favorite Whidbey town, Langley. The kid's loved the loft and our dog loved the grounds. We hope to come back when it's warm to fully experience Goss Lake and the canoe!
