This extraordinary duplex offers a rare combination of advantages:
This unique 1 bedroom apartment (2 bedroom equivalent) sleeps 5. It is located on the ground floor & basement .
- A perfect location: rue du Dragon, in the middle on the 6th arrondissement (metro saint sulpice 1mn).
- 3 windows, tall and large, opening on a nice and calm courtyard
- An upper level organised has an “inside apt” for 2 (+1 extra bed)
- An incredible and huge stone vaulted room in the basement: together living room, reception room, friends room. Check the pictures.
- A delicate & coloured decoration, French style.
- Large and comfortable: Sleeps up to 5 guests

One enters by the upper level. At this level are the dining room with the 3 tall windows, the master bedroom connected to a dressing room, the kitchen (open by a bar to the dining room), and bathroom. One accesses the 450 ft2 vaulted room by a spiral staircase. The architect has perfectly mastered the transformation of the majestic ancient cellar of the stone building. As it does not receive natural light, this room is obviously a room for the night, reception or large bedroom.

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and australia are generaly free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

The Saint Germain area is very lively and full of restaurants, cafés, cinemas and trendy shops. The art Galleries of Rue de seine are very close. One reaches the Eglise Saint Sulpice, and Eglise de Saint Germain des Pres in 2 minutes. And there is even a supermarket to conveniently buy food, which is not always easy inside Paris.

Last but not least, if you have kids, the Luxembourg gardens is walking distance (5mn walk). This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It is very central. There are 3 subway stations at walking distance. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris places.

New Jersey Family in Paris

Guest: New Jersey Family (New Jersey, US)
Date of Stay: 12/25/11 Review Submitted: 01/09/12

Everything about this apartment is exactly as advertised and looks just like the photographs. My wife and I stayed here xmas week 2011 with my teen-aged children. The place was clean and quiet and we had plenty of room for four people. The location is wonderful--very close to several Metro stops and a taxi stand if you need to leave the neighborhood but there's no need to as so much is within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet, close to 4 Metro stops, very clean, excellent appointments, good kitchen

My wife, my niece, and I stayed December 17th-24th at the DRAGON apartment. Before I arrived, Jean-Noel the apartment manager sent me very detailed, accurate instructions (in perfect English) on entering the building and retrieving the keys. The apartment is accessed by entering a door from a small street, going through a short hallway (with automatic light), a small, cute courtyard (also with automatic light), and a door. The apartment is in two levels. The main level (a sumptuous, calming yellow color with a tile floor) includes a small living area with a bed (that also can serve as a couch), and a dining table with four chairs. The kitchen has a small "dorm-size" fridge (with the usual, dubious freezer), a four-burner stove (sealed), and a small oven with several modes, all of which include a convecting fan (so, to avoid breast meat overcooking, I recommend roasting any birds breast-side down in this oven). The kitchen is relatively well-stocked for a rental apartment, with ample glassware (including flutes and wine glasses), two pitchers, and plenty of plateware and silverware. There are three frying pans (all non-stick--I would have preferred at least one "stick" pan for browning meat, but this is a quibble), and pots of all shapes and sizes, including 2 non-stick pots, perfect for making sautes of the many odd root vegetables available in the street markets. The main bedroom (queen-size bed, good and firm) is on this level. It is curtained off from the living area and includes a curtained-off closet and some shelf-space. The toilet is in a separate room from the bathtub (with shower). Both rooms have sinks and mirrors, though only the bathtub/shower room has space for toiletries. Water pressure and temperature are excellent. The second level is accessed DOWN a narrow, spiral staircase that will challenge any suitcase larger than a carry-on. Downstairs (vaulted ceiling) are two beds that double as sofas, one sofa that can sleep a person easily, wardrobe, HDTV, and phone (with free calls to landlines). The Wi-Fi receiver is down here--Wi-Fi is fast, though the upstairs bedroom and kitchen are sometimes shielded from the signal. According to the manager, the bed configuration can be altered (within reason). The apartment is extremely quiet at night and can be made very dark for sleeping. It is close to 4 Metro stops, the excellent Raspail market, Poilane, and the St.-Germain craziness. I highly recommend it and will likely use it again.

Stan from Toronto + wife, daughters & friend enjoyed the apartment very much.

Jean-Noël, We very much enjoyed our week in Paris in your comfortable, well located apartment. The reality was even better than promised in the pictorial presentation of the apartment. The location was close to Metros, shops, cafes and restaurants. We were far more comfortable in the apartment with our two grown daughters and one of their friends for a couple of days than we would have been in a hotel. Well furnished and supplied for light cooking, breakfasts, etc. Thanks very much for the clean, comfortable apartment. Stan from Toronto

We had a wonderful stay, thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and had no end of fun with the "dragon" in the basement. We would definitely hope to stay here again if(when) we return to Paris. The location was great and we were able to quickly get to the metro, and any place that we wanted to go. Thank you so very much.

Central location and very quiet

Guest: Mary (-)
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 09/09/11

Bonjour Jean Noel: The apartment was "magnifique". It was just blocks away from both the Sevres/Babylon and St. Germain des Pres metro stations so getting around Paris was really easy. The restaurants on the street were excellent. Despite the central location, it was very quiet - likely due to being set back from the street and having a courtyard. We would definitely rent there again. Merci. Mary USA Advice for travelers: Paris Shuttle provides door to door service from CDG airport. 19 euros each way, but well worth it. We made reservations on the internet.

We stayed in the Dragon apartment when we were in Paris last week. The apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet and the location is perfect. We walked everywhere. Few Metro stations close by. We will recommend friends to this apartment. In fact my children (17 and 14) are asking to go back next summer. Thanks Jean Noel. We enjoyed our time in Paris!!!

We'll always have Paris

The location of Dragon is fabulous. Can walk everywhere and really appreciated the closeness of the Monoprix. And if you don't feel like walking there are several close Metro stops. Beautiful apartment with nicer than usual furnishings. Very quiet - you close the front door and enter the courtyard into another world. And the helpfulness of Jean-Nicolas and Jean-Noel were extraordinare! Hope to be back soon.
