Camp Yachats Vacation Cottage, where the forest meets the sea, is situated on 2 acres and features 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and dining room. This one of a kind cottage is privately owned, and managed by the on-site owners. The two front rooms and porch offer an ocean view through the trees. Relax in a rocker on the porch, listening the ocean’s waves, perhaps enjoying your favorite beverage, while breathing in the cool clean air and keeping an eye out for the eagles and hummingbirds in residence.
Walk to the beach down our private mossy path edged by ferns, salal, huckleberry, and Sitka spruce. There you’ll find wide sandy beaches and rocky tide pools, only 800 feet from your front door, just across the Scenic Pacific Coast Byway. Stroll along the beaches, typically empty except for agates, driftwood, and shore birds.
Just behind the cottage, you may follow a trail to the banks of the year round creek (about 150 feet from your back door). What a great spot for lunch, on the picnic table by the rushing water with tall trees, ferns, and wildflowers all around. Or you might unwind at the table under the apple tree in the backyard garden.
This charming cottage is the perfect spot for your vacation get away and a delightful base for exploring the Oregon Coast. We provide a small library of specially selected books on a variety of local topics, including history of the area, geology and flora and fauna. The cottage is also equipped with board games and jigsaw puzzles for your enjoyment.
Your hosts live on site next door, and would be delighted to help in any way possible to make your stay a memorable one. If you desire an amenity or service not listed, please ask anyway. In many cases you can be accommodated.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Camp Yachats Vacation Cottage
A sandy beach is just 800 feet from our cottage. Explore the Siuslaw National Forest in the back yard.
Paul and Elvis visit this gorgeous beach each morning... they love the wide sandy beaches as well as the rocky tidepools full of marine life! Lots of other wildlife can be seen here: eagles, pelicans, otters, harbor seals, sea lions... even an occasional coyote has been sighted... and whales spouting from time to time! Its a good spot for agate hunting, too, especially after an exciting winter storm.
The Siuslaw National Forest encompasses over 630,000 acres of unique and varying ecosystems, and is Camp Yachats' backyard! A former forest service road makes a great hiking trail. Some of our guests have had close photo ops with spotted owls here!
Only 3 miles north of Camp Yachats is the highest point on the Oregon coast, Cape Perpetua. From the overlook built by the CCC in the 1930's you can watch whales spout and view more than 65 miles of magnificent coastline.
This picturesque station is a working lighthouse! From a height of 205 feet above the ocean, it casts it’s beams some 21 miles out to sea. It is the brightest light on the Oregon coast, and is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. The Keeper’s House is perched on a cliff with a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the beach below. Well worth the 5-10 minute drive!
Owner's Map of Yachats
We are your hosts, Victoria Lambert and Paul Niblock. Paul had lived on five continents, then both of us traveled the lower 48 states with our dog Zelda, looking for our perfect spot. We think we have it! We have the ocean 800' from our door, the cleanest freshest air you can imagine, dark rich earth for gardening, lush green forest around us, a creek in the back yard, mountains behind us, lots of solitude, and a year-round temperate climate... we don't need air-conditioning and we don't shovel snow. Life is good!

We visited this cozy little cottage with our two small children (3 & 6) and our dog. It was just the quiet getaway we needed to cap off a very busy summer. My oldest loved exploring in the woods and we all loved roaming the almost deserted beach. The beds were comfy and we really enjoyed having dinner every evening in the gorgeous garden that Paul and Victoria tend. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming and it was such a treat to be able to bring our favorite furry friend on vacation with us. We can't wait to visit again.

This was our fourth trip to Camp Yachats. It truly is a little piece of heaven carved into the Oregon Coast. This cottage is actually in the forest! It is very well maintained, eco friendly to the max and the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials needed to cook, blend, make coffee, toast, & microwave. Soaps and lotions are provided and are such a gift when staying here because they are made onsite with the herbs that grow in the garden. They are all natural and contain no chemicals whatsoever. We don't even bring our own soap anymore because the soap provided is so nice. Hosts: Paul & Victoria are so nice and approachable. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on the coast. Dining: Luna Sea is a great place for seafood and the Drift Inn is amazing. They cater to people with dietary restrictions. Vegan? YES!!!!! Great Service as well. The private access to the beach and the practically private beach are a HUGE PLUS. We are able to let our dog who is very timid run free here. A true getaway for the family including the dog!

Just back from 4 fine days at Campt Yachats. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The beds are especially great for sleeping in! The location on the coast, and the proximity to the ocean, are exceptional. Paul and Victoria were very welcoming, provided information on the area as we needed, and we hope to take the Cummins Ridge Trail next time. Plus, walking the beach in the snow was incredible. Overall, a great great trip and we hope to return soon.

...[My dog] and I enjoyed everything about our stay: beach and trail walks, reading and relaxing in the garden, sharing late afternoon sun with the swallows and hummers on the front porch, and delighting in all the whimsy throughout the cottage and grounds. Comfortable, cozy, welcoming and refreshingly different - inside and out - this cottage fits the bill.

We are completely in love with Camp Yachats:-) I have never experienced 48 hours of continuous heavy rainfall as we have seen during our stay here, but the cottage is so cozy and cheerful that it has been a great getaway! It was exhilarating getting drenched to the bone today, hiking with Billy at Cape Perpetua, knowing we were a short drive back to a warm (gas) wood stove and a hot shower. You have the perfect place- great beds, bath, storage, well-stocked kitchen. Truly a magnificent use of space. From the hand-crafted soaps and lotions to the dog treats and towels, and proximity to forest and ocean, "Heaven on Earth!"...
