  The description of the cottages on the Sea Spray Cottage website was spot on. They are completely charming in a shabby chic way. We were surprised how large Cottage 2 was when we arrived. The kitchen, though tiny, was pretty well equipped for our daily use. Our own sheets and towels came in handy, since that's part of the deal. (However, we unneccessarily brought blankets and pillows.) The previous reviews mentioned bringing extra toilet tissue. We did. That was a good idea. We bought pump soaps for the sinks when we got there. Our recommendation would be to bring your own flashlight. We walked the dogs nightly -- and it's very, very dark there. Since we were there for a full week, having access to the washer and dryer were very much appreciated. The clothes lines and clothes pins came in handy too. The little fenced yard was a nice feature, though we could not take advantage of it. Our little dogs are so small, they fit between the pickets of the gate. The cottages are located in a very nice area near to Old Nags Head and the Unpainted Aristrocracy. We were near enough for a quick drive to Jocket Ridge and a stroll to the beach daily. (Their are two beach access points very near to the driveway of the cottages.) Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach. During the season, the neighborhood offers some fun stuff to do too. Although, the ice cream shop a couple lots away, is not very good.

  KDH, Nags Head and Northern OBX lost power friday night, We lost power and heat for several hours. Unfortunately the power surge fried the thermostat in the house. Our homeowner quickly offered another house across the street, which we stayed at Saturday while waiting for our home heat to be fixed. It was fixed by 5pm and we were able to have a warm and uneventful rest before the race on Sunday. John was very responsive to our calls which we appreciated. The house is cute, just as described, clean, with all amenities. We would definitely stay again! It was a perfect location for this wknd. PS. The nags head pier breakfast is YUMM.

  The listing description was true to detail - no surprises, other than the unit was even more charming in person than the description and pictures could reflect. I really appreciated the uniquess to this little cottage, compared to the large units located in this area. The owners have really done a great job making this unit feel comfortable and relaxing. The decor was well done and tasteful. The unit was well equipped and every thing worked perfectly. The unit was very clean and quiet -- I would highly recommend this location for a family vacation, a romantic get-away, or a fun weekend with the girls. Really a special place!

  We loved the Sea spray cottage #2! It was very clean and close to the beach. Also, we loved the well stocked kitchen. We really felt that it was our home away from home for a week. We would recommend any of the four cottages on the property to friends and family and also can't wait to stay there again. The owner was great to work with and we especially appreciated his own recomendations for restaurants and places to visit in the Nag's Head area. This was reasonably priced and well worth the drive from PA!

  We are just wrapping up our stay here at Sea Spray and all I can say is that it has been an amazing and memorable vacation. My husband and I brought our 15 month old here for her first trip to the beach, as well as our 2 crazy dogs, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It is really difficult to find an affordable, pet friendly rentals and the cottage definitely exceeded all of our expectations!! As much as I would LOVE to own a beautiful beach front property in OBX that just isn't in the cards...haha...however Sea Spray will definitely be our place as we continue to vacation here in Nags Head for many summers to come! Hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we have!!!

  Cottage 2 had everything we needed and more. It was truly a wonderful experience. As a precaution, the full size bedroom was much smaller than expected and the bed a little beaten up. This is only relevant if two adults plan to share the room as my husband and I did. Luckily, we only had one person in the twin beds room so we were able to spread out luggage more comfortably that way.

  We really enjoyed our stay at cottage #2. It was clean and comfortable. The location was great for beach access, sound side access, shopping and restaurants. We had two small pets with us and the fenced in area was just the right size. We would definitely stay here again.

  This place was everything the posting promised! It was very cute, quaint, and clean! It was a great quiet get away place. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you needed. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean. Even though it is a pet friendly place you would not be able to tell--there was no dog hair or pee spots on any of the rugs. Blankets were provided. It was at a great location for beach access. We would literally just walk across the street to the beach every morning. There were even a wide variety of movies to watch and books to read. It was very pet friendly and had a small enclosed back "yard" where they could be let out for a quick BR break. Only suggestion would be to bring toilet paper! They only provide one roll :)

• Great Beach Cottage!

  My husband and I stayed here for several days during spring break. The location was great, a very easy and quick walk across the street to the beach. Not a problem even if you have young children. It was also really close to several great restaurants and just a quick two blocks from Jockey Ridge state park. The house itself was very clean, and very cute. I'm certainly not a snob, but I do have fairly high standards, and this was just a great little house to stay in. The bedrooms, the family room, the kitchen, and dining room were all good sized. The bathroom is quite small, but still a full size for most people's needs. This is not one of the gargantuan beach houses all over the outer banks, but in my mind, what a beach house is supposed to be. Well equipped, cute, clean, and centrally located. I would highly recommend this to my family and friends. Excellent choice for the $$.

  Our experience at this cottage was a great one. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the island and the home like feel of the cottage. The only thing i was disappointed in was the lack of cleanliness of the pillows and the bedding in the rooms. But i was asked to bring my own so that was good. Thanks for the memories i hope to come back next year!

  Owner response: We are sorry that the bedding did not meet up to your standards. We launder the bedding regularly. There was only one group of guests prior to your stay who arrived immediately after our spring cleaning. We will, hoever, be sure that the bedding will be cleaned prior to our next guests' arrival. Wish you had mentioned your concerns to me when I meet you Saturday moring just prior to your departure.

Cottage #2 rents weekly SUNDAY to SUNDAY.

Cottage #2 rents WEEKLY ONLY June 2 - August 31; we will rent nightly during this period if the cottage is not booked a week prior to an available date.
