If you are looking for a unique vacation opportunity where you do not have to invite 25 of your closest friends and family members, Sea Spray Cottages is the place for you. The location is ideal, Mile Post 11.7, just south of Nags Head Pier and just north of Snow Bird's Soft Serve Ice Cream; you will be centrally located to many attractions.
Built in 1950, the cottages provide guests with a feel of what vacationing was like on the Outer Banks during a less complicated era. The cottages are equipt with modern conveniences that will make your visit relaxing and enjoyable. Linens and towels not provided. Check in is at 3 and check out is at 10:30.

All our rates include the 12.75% occupancy taxes; stays less than a week add a $50 cleaning fee. Weekly vacations, pets (max of 2) stay free; less than a week add a $50 per pet fee.

Why the Owner Chose Nags Head
The cottages were slated for demolition and sale of the bare lots. We purchased the cottage court to save them from the wrecking ball. Our intent is to preserve and revitalize a little piece of old Nags Head so that we and others can enjoy a bit of history and vacation in a comfortable and uncomplicated way.

At the Sea Spray Cottages you will not have to vacation with 25 of your closest friends and family. Given the size of the cottages, you can enjoy your vacation with your immediate family or with a few close friends at a very affordable price. There is plenty to do in Nags Head including enjoying the beach, which is across the street. Cottage #2 has a large comfortable front porch were you can sit, enjoy your favorite beverage and watch the world go by.

My wife had been vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina since she was an infant and introduced me to the area when we were dating. We purchased our first vacation cottage a year after we were married in 1991 and purchase the Sea Spray Cottage Court in 2007. The cottages were built in 1950; there are four in total (only 2 are currently available for vacation rentals).

We had a great time at this adorable cottage. Our kids (2 and 5) adored their shark bedroom. The location was great-close to the pier, across the street with a short walk to the beach. The porch was perfect for relaxing after the kids went to bed. John and his wife were extremely hospitable. Can't wait to visit again.

The cottage was clean with everything we needed. The owners were very friendly. We loved the front porch and the fact that our granddog Bailey could enjoy it also was a plus.We had a great view of the fireworks from the front porch. It was a nice short walk across the street to the beach. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. We would highly recommend it.

For us, this is Nagshead at it's best! The cottage was just as described and pictured. It was clean, nicely decorated, colorful, and had everything we really needed. (We are somewhat beach purists to begin with!) My husband and I, as well as our dog, Lexie, loved sitting on the front porch, taking in the "happenings." It was a short walk to the beach access and very centrally located. to beaches to the north and the south. Even though we were only there for a weekend, time seemed to slow down to a crawl. We enjoyed lazing around the cottage, walks on the beach (we even saw a LIVE SEAL, far up on the dry sand!!) and dinner at the Kill Devils Grill. I had the added pleasure of dropping in for a great yoga class with Anne and enjoyed a wonderful massage from David Henderson, both based at Outer Banks Yoga. We will return soon - in about two weeks, in fact! We are thrilled to have found a place that is such a great match both for us and for our dog, who thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the beach. We have deemed her an official "beach dog!"

My two daughters, granddaughter and I vacationed in July at this wonderful place and had a great vacation. All accommodations were well thought through, the cottage was very clean and it was obvious that our comfort was important to the owners. If you're looking for a spot that reflects the charm and atmosphere of vacationing as it existed at a time in our past when things were a little slower-paced, then this is your spot. We look forward to our next stay at SeaSpray!

Since this was our very first trip to Nags Head and OBX, we didn't know what to expect.We were very, very pleased with our stay at Seaspray Cottage (#2). It is the perfect blend of charming nostalgia and modern convenience. If you are used to vacationing on the shores of New England, Seaspray Cottages will be very reminiscent of Old Lyme, Cape Cod and the NH seacoast. The owners here have payed special attention in the renovations to retain the quaintness of an earlier, more simple vacation stay, and yet have also appointed the cottage with all the amenities one really needs. For us, it was especially valuable to not have to bring beach chairs or a portable grill, as space comes at a premium in our SUV, with 2 teens and a 88lb. dog! The cottage is spacious, very clean, comfortably furnished and well-cared-for. The location is truly convenient and has close access to the beach. Thank you for a great introduction to Nags Head; I'm sure we will be back.
