Why the Owner Chose Nags Head
Sea Spray Cottages were slated for demolition to clear the lots for construction of 2 large 5-bedroom cottages. We purchased the lots with the requirment that the cottages remain. With preservation in mind, our intent is that we and others can enjoy a simple, yet confortable stay at the beach in a historic property.
Owner's Map of Nags Head
My wife has been vacationing on the Outer Banks her entire life. She introduced me to the area when we were dating and have been vacationing there ever since. In 1991 we purchased our first cottage. In 2007 we purchased the Sea Spray Cottage Court. They were built in 1950; there are four cottages in total (two available for vacation rentals).

WOW...What a great place. We really enjoyed our vacation to your wonderful cozy cottage. Everything was great. Its a wonderful place for our small family and dog. The fenced in yard was a must! Irene gave us an unwanted visit at the end of our week, so we didn't get to stay the enitre time--but the time we did stay was unforgetable. Thanks again. :)

We had a wonder time in what turned out to be some of the hottest days of the year. The house was perfect for myself, mother and aunt as well as my dog. The enclosed porch and side yeard make it so easy to bring your dog along. The beach is just across the street and down a bit as well as shopping, restaurants and the Pier for great fishing. Great place to come and relax especially if you like a cottage and not the big overdone homes along the shore line.

This was great. Everything was just as described. Loved the interior taking us back in time with all the modern convinces right there. John the owner is so helpful and wonderful to deal with. One thing which will be a bonus to some is the back door leads off a small deck pictured to a fully enclosed back yard for your pet if needed. Pictures do not show that. We will be returning again.

What a refreshing change this cottage is. Perfect for a small family or couple who have grown tired of the McMansions that dominate beaches these days. Vintage window treatments and hardware add to the charm. Modern updates to the bathroom and kitchen feel fresh and clean. You can really hear the ocean from the front porch and the nice paved area right in front of the porch is a great place for kids to play. This is one of the few places where the pictures can't even touch the charm that is literally in every nook and cranny. We particularly enjoyed visiting off-season to avoid the crowds.

We loved staying here. This is not your typical 3-story, cookie-cutter 'McMansion.' It's cozy and just right for a get-away for two (or 3). The property was immaculate and well-maintained and the wood paneling and furnishings gave the place a lot of charm. I especially appreciated the small, but great book collection. Something to keep in mind is that the beach is across a very busy street, but the public access is a short walk from the cottage and didn't prove much of a hardship. The location is one of the best on the island because of the easy walk to Jockey's Ridge and one of the finest sunset views in the world. We will definitely stay here again.
