Roomy home that is a wonderful, simple get-away in every season.
1.2 acres on Paradise Ridge with great view of mountains, Deep Creek Lake and we have our own dock. We love the two large decks and the balcony. With four bedrooms and 2.5 baths, there's privacy and room for everyone. There a wood burning stove for cold nights and we dug a fire pit out in the yard for roasting marshmallows in the summer. Enjoy a short stroll (or drive) to the association lake front with picnic tables, floating dock and sand lot. There's a ping-pong room for extra entertainment.
Great for families. This is a quiet residential area, but it is only 5 minutes from movies, ski resort, horseback riding, nature center, etc.
Weekend rate is $350 with the third day free. Weeks are $700 per week. $900 per week in July and August. Minimum stay one week Saturday to Saturday in July and August. Dock rental is $45 per day. Pets are $45. There is a refundable $150 deposit, plus $10 key deposit.

Why the Owner Chose Oakland
My husband used to come with a group of guys from work for years. They would hike, fish, cook, etc. He always said, "I should buy something." When we got married, we did! It has been wonderful for family events. Friends have enjoyed renting it for their own reunions.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We just love the quiet and the views. There are hundreds of things to do in the Deep Creek area (state park, nature center, the railroad museum, Swallow Falls, horseback riding, the Deer Park Inn, down town Oakland, the old train in Cumberland, Falling Waters, etc.). There's nothing like a ping-pong room on rainy days.

Our Paradise Ridge Review

Our overall week at Deep Creek lake was great as far as the water sports and activities. Boating was fun, Swimming at the state park was great do to the hot weather. Jet skiing was a blast. Kids like the mountain roller coaster. Lots to do like mini golfing, go karts, etc. Unit is quite a distance from the activities as it sits on the back side of deep creek. Unit owners seemed nice and we chatted by email several times. Kids liked having the internet and wireless access (code was not available until day two as we had to contact the owner). Our stay at Paradise Ridge was marginal. Not much to do in the neighborhood. We arrived to a wet/damp/musty basement. A dehumidifer was turned off. We turned it on and it leaked all over the bench it was sitting on. We had to work on the crimped hose that led to the drain. Never could use the basement rec area. Running the dehumidier made it really hot. The unit itself was was a nice unit, but could have been cleaner. A lot of cob webs and dust. House had no air flow with windows opened based on the way it sat up on the hill. It was an A frame with all windows on the end. We stayed during one of the hottest weeks for the area and no AC made it tough on the family. A few of the nights did cool down. Kids could not stay in the mid lever bedroom, had to sleep on the floor out by the front doors. We trailered a boat and chose not to use the dock that could be rented for 45.00 a day. We put in at the state park which was fine. The tough part was that the house sits on a steep incline. We had to park the boat at the bottom of the drive due to the trailer hitting bottom when coming down the drive. At one point the owner offered to let us use the dock (we thought based on some of our troubles), only to have them then reply back that it was a mistake as they checked the contract and we had not paid for the use. We used the out door grills, but the ash can was full that was on the porch. Struggled with what to do with the coals. There's a nice fire pit outside that we used to make a fire and roast marshmallows. Did like the fact that we could take pets. Not sure what the 45.00 fee was for. You'll see a lot of deer. Saw many in the neighbors yards. We also saw a bear cross route 219. First time ever after years of going to the area. At one time, there may have been a nice view of the lake from the balconies. Trees have really grown up so you now only get a glimpse. Some of the higher homes in the neighborhood have a great view.
