This was our second stay at Villa Rosa, and again it's hard to describe how wonderful it was! Where to start; 1.) Tom (the owner) is GREAT to work with - that's probably the single most important component - and we can't say enough how patient he was answering questions and making arrangements for our stay. 2.) The villa is SPECTACULAR! This is a "died and gone to heaven" experience - and there's so much to describe - the big staircase up three floors to the massive chandelier in the cupola; the panoramic vistas from the living room, dining room, pool, terrace, and all three bedrooms; the master bedroom and bath; the veranda's off of each bedroom. This place rocks in so many ways! 3.) Carlos and Vanessa - they get their own line and they deserve it! They will take care of you while you visit and Carlos' food is amazing. Favorites: french toast breakfast; the chicken or shrimp kabob's; fruit plates in the morning; roasted vegie plates in the evening; Fresh squeezed Orange Juice; Carlos’ Mango Margarita's (and I have the recipe from him!). They are dear and sweet and Tom is very fortunate to have them watching over things - they did a great job! 4.) Proximity to Los Muertos Beach and "Old Town" is fantastic - everything WE wanted or needed was close by. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach or downtown. The walk back up to the villa is a bit arduous - but it's a good way to work off Carlos' cooking AND a cab is just 40 pesos from the beach if you prefer. The property was spotlessly clean during the entire stay and the bedding was changed daily. We can't say enough about how GOOD our vacation was and how much of that was based on the accommodations. We highly recommend Villa Rosa!!! Thanks Tom!!!!!

Great Time at Villa Rosa

Five of us went to Villa Rosa the 2nd week of January and had a great time. 2 big pluses for me were having our own pool and Carlos and Vanessa. They are some of the best cooks I have dined with over my years of travel. My husband caught Mahi Mahi and they cooked it to perfection and even made tuna salad sandwiches! We were happy to share a large catch of fish with them, they seemed happy to take it home for their family. My husband is handicapped and the stairs were a huge challenge for him on a daily basis. Be prepared for lots of stairs in the Villa and the hills that surround the area. Dining at Casa Isabel is handy as is Vista Grill and The Taste is very nearby. Cab fare is 40 pesos to downtown area for entertainment. I loved staying here, it was our first time outside of the major hotels in PV, I won't want to go back to the massive all inclusive now! Our thanks to the owner; he made everything easy booking our lovely stay at the Villa Rosa. I would recommend this property for something outside the normal beachside noisey resorts that line the beaches.

Christmas in Paradise

We are just finishing our Christmas stay at Villa Rosa. It was a terrific vacation. Our family of seven had a wonderful time. The view is spectacular and the pool is so refreshing after a day exploring. Carlos and Vanessa are terrific and the food preparation is outstanding. We would definetly book again.

I stayed at Villa Rosa for 10 days in December and it was fantastic. I went with my family and we all enjoyed our stay immensely! The pictures do not do the villa justice - it is gorgeous with amazing views. It's decorated beautifully, the pool is great and amenities are great. The food was delicious - Carlos the Chef is wonderful! I would recommend everything we ate and Vanessa was so efficient and nice. They made us feel very welcome throughout the stay. The location is so convenient - 8 minutes walk to Los Muerto and El Centro which is filled with shops, restaurants . I truly cannot say enough good things about Villa Rosa - you will not be disapointed by booking your stay here!

I was just at Villa Rosa. The last week of April. What a great time of the year to go! The villa was Fantastic! Everything I heard and read about the Villa did not do it justice. If you think the pictures look good. It is even better in person. What it does not say is how friendly the people in the area are. I will be going back.

A Slice of Heaven!

Five school teachers arrive during spring break 2010. Without a doubt, this is a vacation dream come true for all of us. The villa is amazing with its spectacular views. The pool is very relaxing. All the comforts of home are here and Carlos and Vanessa are so kind and helpful. Having our meals prepared and laundry done for us...well the gal in charge said it was the greatest place for a bunch of elementary school teachers and she was right. We feel very safe and walk to the beach or town. Taxi service brings us home. We enjoyed Rhythm of the Night as well as dinner at River Cafe. Whether we are sitting at the beach, reading a good book at pool-side or going out to dinner...Villa Rosa is truly an amazing place to visit. Thank you for a wonderful holiday vacation! What a wonderful spring vacation for the three teachers who will retire after 30+ years.

Vacation of a lifetime|! My seven year old daughter said it best 'I feel like a princess' My sister, brother in law and 5 children spent one of the best weeks ever at the Villa Rosa. Carlos and Vanessa were fantastic. The food was amazing! Too many great things to mention. This will not be our last stay! Thanks!

There were seven of us celebrating a 40th birthday and we had an incredible time. The villa is a dream with a million dollar view. It is rather like being in the Hollywood Hills, only much better. There is plenty of room in the villa and even with 7 of us, it never felt crouded. It has all the amenities for which you could ever ask, not that you'd ever have to worry about them with Carlos and Vanessa catering to your every whim. We will definitely be back for more of the views, the late-night dips in the pool, Vanessa's warm smiles, and Carlos' amazing food (Guacamole every day!!!! Woo Hoo!!!)

Absolutely WONDERFUL experience! Our family - group of ten - thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Rosa. The accomodations, the location, the amenities, and as you see with other comments, the hospitality and culinary skills of Carlos and Vanessa were simply superb! Working with owner Tom Hicks was a dream - in spite of question after question, he worked with us all the way through the trip. What a fantastic week we had at Villa Rosa. We loved this beautiful home--especially the view from the patio of the city and water. Every night we looked forward to the fireworks from the pirate ship, and of course, Carlos'incredible dinners.

WE JUST RETURNED FROM THE BEST VACATION EVER. THE VILLA IS SO COMFORTABLE AND CARLOS AND VANESSA ARE THE VERY BEST. WE LET THEM COOK AND COULDN'T HAVE FOUND A BETTER MEAL ANYWHERE. BREAKFAST WAS GRAND AND DINNER UNDESCRIBABLE. THE VIEWS ARE GREAT. THE BEST WAY TO SAY IT IS WE WILL BE BACK!

Your Mexican home is beautiful, comfortable, and felt like home to all of us at first glance. Carlos and Vanessa (cook and maid) were such a delight. They were thoughful, full of good humor, and went out of their way to make us feel like welcome guests. The house (and our own, personal belongings) were always clean and neat. The pool and grounds were always beautiful. Carlos' cooking was better than that of any restaurant we frequented while in Puerto Vallarta. The group concensus was that Carlos and Vanessa should be declared a Mexican National Treasure
