Secluded and comfortable two story log cabin on two private acres at the end of the road, backs to national forest yet is only 1 mile off the highway. Short hike off the back porch takes you to spectacular continental divide view. Blanco River is a half mile walk below cabin and provides opportunity to fish or tube. Situated at 7200' the cabin is tucked into the tall evergreens and aspens, and surrounded by seasonal wildflowers. Front deck with picnic table allows relaxation, grilling, enjoying the view and soaking in the cool mountain breeze.
The combined living room and kitchen provide a sense of roominess, and the queen sleeper-sofa allows extra sleeping for two. Kitchen has beautiful handmade aspen table with seating for groups of up to ten. Lots of unique woodwork and log furniture add character. Upstairs bunkroom has individual beds for 4 and is perfect for families. Main floor master bedroom newly refurnished with log style furniture including queen bed, second floor bedroom has double bed. Master bath remodeled in 2006.
Owners are constantly improving the property. This is a non-smoking home, no pets.
With proximity to the vast San Juan Mt's area, there's no limit to the outdoor recreational activities available, hiking, rafting, mt biking, horseback rides, four wheeling and fall hunting . Add the laidback friendliness of Pagosa, nicely developed hot springs in town, and great but reasonably priced family restaurants. Durango, a one hour drive, is full of outstanding attractions such as it's historic downtown, the popular narrow gauge train ride into the mountains, a scenic drive thru Silverton and Ouray, or a tour of world renowned Mesa Verde.
