Visit Highlands Wine and Cheese shop and the owner will give you discounts on cult cabernets and artisan cheeses!

The photos truly do not do it justice. Incredible home, incredible fireplace, incredible views, every single thing about this home is incredible. The attention to detail in this home is amazing. The beautiful meadow across the street made for awesome wedding photos. We actually got married on the back deck. Every single one of my guests STILL talk about what an awesome time they had in that house. We want to visit again for our one year anniversary. Nice waves from neighbors every time we drove down the 2 mile road to the main road. And the scenery on that drive was gorgeous as well. Great for reunions. You will NOT be disappointed.

Relaxing get away

What a wonderful stay at this lovely home! It was better than the description. You honestly feel like you are the only people on earth and you are staying in a mansion. We could not have asked for anything else. The owner was very helpful to us. We visited lots of waterfalls and many went white water rafting a little over an hour away. The shopping in Highlands was enjoyed by many. There is lots of antiquing in Dillard and we had great sandwiches at Java Mama's. The Creamery in Dillard had excellent icecream and homemade dairy products. There is a great Farmers Market on the Dillard side on the main Highway, sorry I can't be more helpful. We brought our Wi. We did not use the video game machine there. The pool table and foosball were well used. The decks make lovely areas for reading books and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. We heard an owl at night and many birds. Never saw a bear, but did see deer on the private road once. Remember bug spray when walking in the woods, but definitely go walking...we picked blackberries and made a great cobbler. Every utensil imaginable was available in the huge kitchen. We took advantage of paper plates and disposable cups, but there would have been enough of their dishes. We used the whole house intercom system to play CD's throughout the home. We used the screened porch fireplace in July for smores! I would recommend this property to anyone that does not need to be constantly busy. You can spread out and have your own mini vacation. We had 10 people with us and with permission of the owner I believe air mattress could accomodate many more. The master bath is huge and luxurious. I could not make the whirlpool work in the tub, but I feel like I did not know the right combination. If you are concerned about the price, just check out the price to stay at The Hampton Inn and figure out how much you will save by cooking some meals yourself etc. This by far is a much better choice for families.
