The Dingle Peninsula is world famous for its spectacular coastline, uncrowded beaches, hills and mountains, the Blasket Islands, but above all, for the warm welcome extended to visitors. Dingle town has a buzz to it, with plenty of local pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Irish language is widely spoken and Irish traditional music is proudly nurtured. 'Fungie' the Dingle dolphin, is an adopted son of the region and has been attracting visitors to Dingle Harbour for more than two decades. If you are a hill-walker or you like water sports/fishing, if you enjoy horse-riding or you dabble in painting or if you just want to unwind and let the Atlantic breeze exhilarate and soothe you, this region will leave its indelible mark on you.
Ballyhea Cottage is just 5 minutes' drive west of Dingle town. It sits in a valley with pretty hill and mountain views and was designed as a traditional Irish cottage. Surrounded on three sides by farming land, this is a place to relax and chill out. Appearances can be deceptive though, because inside the cottage is surprisingly spacious with two high-ceilinged and very comfortable living rooms, both with cosy wood-burning stoves. The rear room has the music system and extra large wooden dining table, while the other living room in the front has the satellite TV. The newly renovated kitchen, linking both living rooms, is fully equipped, with a small island. Bedrooms, all on ground floor, have nice views of the countryside.
The main bedroom is en-suite with electric shower. The main bathroom is roomy, with a bath and stand-in shower (the shower works off mains water). Plentiful bed linen and towels are supplied.
The garden area is mostly to the front of the house, with secure gates. On sunny evenings, make use of the patio area to the rear, and eat outdoors, taking in the mountain views.

We are based in Dublin City, and travel to Dingle regularly, we love it so much. The house is very well kept and maintained. We are always adding little bits and pieces, locally sourced. The cleaning and turnaround of the house is overseen by our delightful, locally based wonder-woman, Linda!
Why the Owner Chose Dingle
We have been coming to Dingle since we first met and we just love the place. Eventually we got to live the dream and built the cottage in 1999. It's just 5 minutes drive from Dingle town and roughly 15 minutes drive to some of the amazing beaches on the Dingle peninsula..There is so much to do here, whether you want to go horse back riding across the valley from the cottage, go hill walking on the designated walkways along the mountains and valleys that surround our beautiful cottage or take part in the water sports that are available in Dingle Harbour. The cottage is designed to be airy, bright and comfortable.
