Snorkel out to the beautiful coral reef and view all the marine life. Many restaurants and bars with sand volleyball and water platform for jumping into the ocean. Bring a raft to float in the crystal clear aqua marine water. The reef surrounds the island and keeps the waves from breaking on the shore so you can float all day long in the bath like temperature water.
Travel Ten minutes toward the west via taxi and you'll find the very unique and quaint West End Village. If you like to dive this is the right place to be. You can grab a diving boat from several locations departing at most anytime of the day. Or walk down the middle of the sand road to shop in the art stores, local crafts and too many to list, restaurants and bars. Some are located over the water with decks to enjoy the beautiful sunsets of Roatan. Restaurants serving up Fresh Seafood, Italian, Thai, etc. Rudy's serves banana pancakes that are a hit for breakfast. Locals serving up their delicious hand made tortillas packed with a variety of delicious fresh ingredients.
This restaurant serves island cuisine and sits out over the water with plenty of deck space.

Located at the entrance to the Sundancer Community is a local bar and grill serving delicious American and local cuisine. Fresh seafood and steaks priced right. You'll see some local bands playing occasionally in the bar and Karaoke night is always fun. Lots of action at this bar/restaurant with a pool table as well..

New Cruise Ship Dock . When cruise ships are docked at Mahogany Bay the area is open to the public. Several chain type gift stores, jewelry stores and restaurant/bars to visit. The overall appearance of this location is somewhat Disney like. The Beach area is always closed to the public. Cruisers ONLY.
Just minutes from the airport up on the hill north of Coxen Hole is Plaza Mar. There is a good grocery store called the Supermercado. This store is located between our home and the airport. Another grocery store is located 15 minutes to the east of the air port in French Harbour called Sun Supermarket and it's the grocery store we prefer.
Serving delicious food with covered deck over the water. Travel down through the town of French Harbour to the south side of the island.
Zip Line through the jungle. Located on the road to West Bay Beach. Very reasonably priced and safe.
Small bar under a grass roof on the beach. Located to the right of the triangle when you enter West End Village.
Owner's Map of Sandy Bay
Hi, we’re Brown and Connie from Colorado. Yes, that is us on the Sundancer Pier enjoying another spectacular sunset at 5:00 with friends. Our first visit to Roatan was in 2003 and we fell in love with its quaintness and beauty. We purchased a plot of ground in 2004 and embarked upon the most challenging, interesting and adventurous project we have ever attempted. Both English and Spanish are spoken on the island which allowed us to easily maneuver through Roatan's customs and procedure’s while building our home. We shipped the majority of our building materials from the Home Depot in Miami, Florida. The cabinets are of local wood, built by islanders and the granite was shipped from the city of San Pedro Sula on the mainland of Honduras. Our home is nestled in a relaxing beautiful setting in Sundancer where all stress is left behind. Come play in Roatan!

This review is specifically for the Pentagon house, Sandy Bay, Roatan. First of all let me give the property a 5 out of 5 star rating. The house and location met all of our needs and didn’t disappoint, we were extremely satisfied with the accommodations. Pentagon house was built in 2005, I looked it up in the real estate listing, and shows little wear so you don’t have to worry about things falling apart. The living room/kitchen is a great room configuration so it’s a real open feel, plus the living room has a large vaulted ceiling that adds to the voluminous feel. The kitchen is a galley design with an eating bar facing the dining area. It’s appointed with new appliances, beautiful exotic hardwood cabinets, granite countertops and a separate pantry. Off the main living room there is a screened in deck where we took our breakfast in the mornings, 87 degrees…nice. The living room has newer comfortable furniture and a great TV with an even more amazing sound system, so bring your tunes and let the sub woofer do it’s magic. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has its own large tiled bathroom with a walk in shower. It’s very large but we didn’t spend much time there so who cares. The two remaining bedrooms are on the second floor and share a bathroom. There is also an elevated walkway from these bedrooms to an outside deck area with a peek-a-boo view of the water but amazing views of the local vegetation which is lush and profuse…enjoy! The community has a pool but we generally went to the dock on the beach, which was amazing. It’s probably a hundred plus yards to the beach and dock. You can lie in the sun, watch stars at night, and snorkel a 100 yards to one of the most amazing coral reefs in the world. Seriously, the reef is literally a 5 minute paddle and you are in diver’s paradise. It’s truly an amazing snorkel area, DO NOT MISS this opportunity in your back yard. At the entrance to the Sundancer community is the Blue Parrot restaurant and bar. It’s the local hangout and has good food and stiff drinks. You can rub shoulders with the locals and get all your questions answered. Go, tan, unwind, and enjoy quiet bliss, you won’t be disappointed. We’re from Seattle so we didn’t even think of turning on the air conditioning! We enthusiastically recommend this house for your next vacation! 4/2011

This was truly a dream vacation! My wife and I stayed at this centrally located house. It was a quick ride to West End and West Bay beach, and a short walk (100 yards) out to the community pier. We went snorkeling off the pier and after a quick swim, were at some of the most beautiful coral reef. The house was very well kept and has amenities that we really appreciated (air conditioning unit in every room)! The house is fully stocked for cooking and entertaining. We loved our trip and highly recommend it to friends and family.

My husband and I visited Roatan for the first time in August 2010. We will definitely stay at this house again. It is a beautiful, comfortable, very well kept clean home! Good location with activities in either direction from the main road. The property manager Stella is fantastic to work with. She arranged to have a van pick us up at the airport and deliver us to the house, cost $20.00. The community was quite, relaxing and the pier was a minute walk from the house. We snorkeled out to the reef from the pier several times which took 30 minutes and saw beautiful marine life. The Blue Parrot Bar/Grill is within a minute walk down the dirt road. It was nice to have a restaurant close and the food was good and reasonably priced and it had a pool table. A lot of the Sundancer people who live in that neighborhood year around visit the Blue Parrot and it was great talking with them to find out all the fun things to do. We just winged it and had a great time. The zip line was only $40.00 and the Iguana farm $5.00 however, it was about 30 minute drive. Lots of fun and beauty...definitely recommend this house to my friends.

We stayed there in June 2010 and it was a fantastic experience. We were met at the airport by driver and he was indespenable. The house is very large with every amenity imaginable. The house is tucked away in a lush jungle area, with easy access to the beach and reef. There is a restaurant/bar at the entrance to the resort. Whether we ate at home or out and about, the food is fantastic, the views are great, and the water is beautiful. Hope to visit again, and would recommend the house to anybody interested.
