Enjoy a wonderful, affordable waterfront vacation. Our Non-smoking Cape Cod getaway is located on a canal approximately 100 yards from Sage Lake. This canal provides over 100 feet of boat docking area. 2 Kayaks and a paddle bike are provided for your use. Bring your own boat or rent a pontoon locally. A short walk to the beach for swimming or sun bathing. Sage Lake is an all sports lake, great for skiing, wake-boarding or jet ski's. Bring your fishing poles for the bass, bluegill, walleye and pike that are abundant in the lake. We have 2 sets of horse shoes for your use and a fire pit for late night star watching and story telling. Other outside games/activities provided. Green Brier Golf Course, Kenyon's Lakeside lounge (by land or boat), Crusins' Corner Cupboard has a putt putt golf course with great Ice Cream and is within walking distance, are all local attractions that should not be missed. The cottage is 1900 square feet and has lots of rooms for family gatherings and privacy.
The master bedroom is on the main floor and has an on-suite bathroom with over size shower. The main floor has a large Gathering room that adjoins to a large eat-in kitchen. The Gathering room and kitchen open by door walls to the deck, canal and boat docks. There is a large picnic table on the deck.
The entrance from the attached garage has a washer and dryer for your use. The fourth bathroom in the garage has corrugated metal walls and an oversize rain shower head - some of our guest's favorite shower.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. The spacious "Dockside" yellow room overlooks the lake and has 2 queen-sized beds and a single bed and 2 dressers. The "Garden" room has 2 single beds and a dresser. The "Loft" is finished in pine bead board and has 2 double beds, 2 single beds a dresser and 2 cots are stored in the built-in storage walls. Foosball table for rainy day entertainment. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and window fans. There is a full bathroom upstairs with a shower and several hooks and cubbies to accommodate all your guests.
Our rental week goes from Saturday starting at 4:00pm to the following Saturday at 11:00 AM.
The weekly rental includes the cottage, paddle boat, 2 kayaks and a fire pit with a small amount of wood.
Reservation/security deposit: We will hold your reservation with a check for $500. This will also serve as a security deposit. Rental payment MUST be received 30 days prior to your arrival. The security deposit will be refunded to you within 2 weeks from your departure after inspection and approval. Our rental policy/agreement: We ask that you load and start the dishwasher and strip the linens from the beds used when you leave and please leave the cabin in the same condition you found it. Please care for our cabin as if it were your own.

Our cancellation policy - If a reservation is canceled, you will forfeit your reservation/security deposit, with 2 exceptions: If we are able to rent the week for which you have canceled - we will refund your money in full or you may transfer your deposit to another available week.
We are located 1 1/2 hours north of Birch Run, MI, 50 minutes north of Standish or 35 minutes west of Tawas.

I have been vacationing on Sage Lake since the late 1960's. I bought the vacant land in 1973 and Debbie and I built the cabin in 2000. We love the wildlife, especially the loons which are now abundant on the lake.

Cruisins' Corner Cupboard offers great food and ice cream and is within walking distance. Great shopping and restaurants are a short drive. East Tawas has many small shops and activities. Rifle and Au Sable rivers are nearby with all kinds of recreation and sightseeing available, including riverboat cruises and canoe rental.

Once again, our family enjoyed a wonderful week at this Sage Lake cottage. Very clean, lots of room, and lots of fun things to keep the kids busy (paddle boat, kayaks, 3 docks, fishing, etc). Thanks again for a wonderful time and look forward to next year!

My family really enjoyed staying at this cabin on Sage Lake. The cabin was well furnished with kitchen items, towels, bedding, kayaks, and games. Debbie was very quick and helpful with any questions we had. We would definately rent this cabin again and recommend it to everyone.

WOW!! My family has been coming to Sage Lake for over 30+ years and this cabin was AWESOME!! This cabin was more like a home due to the many conveniences that were provided. It was a wonderful week of vacation for our family and we even got our 91-year old grandparents to come up with us once again. Fishing was spectacular this year and the water was great for swimming and skiing. We cannot thank Dave & Debbie enough and look forward to returning in the future.

My family recently enjoyed a family reunion week at this home. It was a perfect setting for our large group. Plenty of beds and bedrooms - all comfortable beds and everything we needed was provided. The paddle boat and kayaks were fun to have and we were out on the lake daily. Home was very clean and kitchen was complete with anything needed to cook full meals. Tawas City was close by for evening fun. Firewood and fixings for s'mores were waiting when we arrived. Wonderful hosts! Would recommend this property to those looking for some big family fun at an affordable price.
