ISLAND LIFE is such a perfect name for this fine vacation home. Yes, this is Island Life, Captiva style! Right in the heart of CAPTIVA VILLAGE, you'll find everything to love about the lifestyle. It starts with the private, heated pool and spa tub, inside a 2 story screened enclosure and surrounded by a furnished sun deck including a bar with seating for 4.
The house sits on quiet Dickey Lane, conveniently close to the center of the village area and also convenient to the north shopping area (including Starbucks Coffee, a deli, and numerous other shops). Here you're surrounded by nature, and it's a pleasant one-block walk down sandy Laika Lane to the gulf of Mexico beach.
Island Life has three bedrooms and two baths and was just recently renovated with an all new kitchen including new appliance, granite tops, and wood cabinets. The entire interior has been painted with island colors, new ceiling fans, all new furniture, linens, bedspeads,mattresses, and all accessories! Even the bathrooms have been updated with new granite tops and cabinets! It's surprisingly spacious, especially with the high ceiling in the living room and the great porch on the back of the home.
This covered porch overlooks the pool, and is within the two story screen enclosure. The living room and two bedrooms open to this porch, which is nicely furnished. The remaining bedroom also has it's own deck off of the front of the home and is also furnished.

We are from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and love the mountains but have always loved the beach. Having grown up in Fort Myers we spent most of our lives on both Sanibel and Captiva beaches. So what better way to have a vacation home than to have it on our favorite beach, Captiva Island! This is our home for relaxation and want you to enjoy what we call paradise!

We were there for a family vacation. The house was beautiful. We loved that we could get up in the morning and go right out back and swim in our pool. A couple of mornings we walked over to the bay to watch the sunrise. Then in the evening we walked over to the beach to watch the sunset. What a perfect place to spend vacation. Loved that the village was so close. One night we walked over to The Bubble Room for dessert. We will definitely go back. The only thing negative that I would say is that the kitchen didn't have as many supplies as I would've liked. Besides that, it was wonderful and we loved staying there.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our stay at Island Life was overall quite good. The house was a short walk to practically a private beach, and just across the street from the center of Captiva. The back porch was wonderful and the entire house was very comfortable. The only complaints were as follows: the pool and hot tub were NOT heated, that was a big minus for us. Also the grill was filthy, rotted our and the burner hardly worked. There were some other minor items to be attended to but. Had the pool and BBQ been as advertised we would have rated it as excellent.
Owner response:Hello Bob & Sandy! I just saw the review and saw that you had problems with the grill and hot tub. I apologize for grill and had my management team let me know sooner I would've replaced it. I got a call 2 weeks ago and just replaced it with a new $500.00 grill. On the hot tub I replaced it at Christmas 2010 with the best heater available on the market at a cost of over $4000.00 so I'm not sure what you experienced. Did you call our management company American Realty located just one block away? They would send a maintanance person or the pool company immediately if contacted. Islandlife was much more than ever imagined by the photos or description! The house felt like "home" and was so relaxing! We could open the entire home to the pool area by sliding glass doors across the entire rear of the home. The sound of the waterfall spa and relaxing upper and lower decks were Heaven! And when they say "complete makeover" they were not kidding! It is like a new home and this is much welcomed in a beach location as it even smelled new! If you're looking for a great home for a Great Price you can't beat Islandlife on Captiva!! 5 Stars to the Owners!!!!!
