“Welcome Home” is our year round residence on 2 acres located 3 miles south of Penn Yan on the “preferred side” of Keuka Lake. Enjoy a complementary bottle of Finger Lakes wine upon your arrival. The Finger Lakes is one of the fasting growing wine regions in the US. Two award winning wineries are very close to this property: one within walking distance and the other just 2 miles away. We are excited to share our home, and will be happy to do anything in advance to help you enjoy your stay.
This location provides a front porch for morning coffee, and a large yard far from the main road. Enjoy the summer sun on the lake side of the house from the large deck, 100 feet of beach frontage or dock until the early evening hours with one of the best views of Keuka Lake. Sunset dinners on the lakeside deck are our personal favorite. An L-shaped dock and shallow waters provide a protected and safe swimming area for children. Rowboat, paddle boat horse shoes and kayak are provided for your enjoyment. It is a great fishing spot as well. The basement features a pool/ping pong table
Foodies will love or newly remodeled gourmet kitchen that will be left fully stocked for your culinary needs (pots, pans, utensils, oils, herbs and spices). Enjoy the pleasure of a gas grill on the deck for easy summer meals.
Again, this unique rental property is our year round residence. During your stay we will be a mere phone call away and will provide whatever necessary so you can walk in and feel “Welcomed Home!”

Thank you so much for a wonderful week in your home. The weather was mostly very good, so we lucked out! The kids really enjoyed all of the boats and spent most of their time either in the water or in the basement! Many thanks and many good memories!

Our vacation was perfect. We love your home and felt very comfortable here. The superb weather only enhanced this wonderful week. Our dog had a great time and we want to thank you for finding Ashley the dog sitter. We were able to swim, boat, bike and wine-taste all week.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home!We loved every minute of it and hope to return in the years to come if you will have us. The fresh cut flowers, your beautiful pots and plants inside and out, the great lake access, the many lake toys, the beautiful lake water and the outside clay stove/fireplace were perfect. The kids had smores every night. Your thoughtfulness of your guests is evident throughout your home. We had the best time! Thank you :)

The property was not very clean...bedding and bathrooms were ok at least. there were cobwebs EVERYWHERE! The light fixtures over the kitchen island and over the dining table were absolutely filthy. The ceiling fans were desgusting as well. The drawers in the kitchen (silverware, storage drawers, etc.) were also filthy. There were huge holes in the screens of the sliding glass doors that we had to tape up with duck tape we found to keep animals in and bugs out,and also to be able to have fresh air coming in as it was 85 degrees out! The sliding glass doors in the basement had no screen at all, so we werent able to have those doors open at all. We had a couple kids sleeping down there the first night, and it was so stuffy down there...and no additonal fans to be had to make it more comfortable for them. We had quite an ant issue in the kitchen as well. We were also given the impression that there was a beach and that we could have bonfires on the beach. There was no beach to speak of, a little bit of rocky shoreline is more accurate. We could not have any fires anywhere except in their chimenea, which was dangerous because sparks flew out of it and landed on the deck. Overall we were quite disappointed for the $$$$$ we paid to stay there for one week. In fact we left two days early :(
Owner response:As the owner of this property, we find it important to respond to this review. We respect all of our renters and certainly everyone has the right to describe their experiences. And considering that this is the first and only negative review we've ever experienced, we thought we'd respond to specific points, just in case prospective renters have questions about future stays. We knew something was amiss when we realized the bottle of wine and fresh local fruit we left for our guests were untouched. That's a rarity! It's hard to think of anything more important to us than cleanliness for our renters, which is why we spend hours upon hours cleaning and preparing the entire property. It's a large property, and we confess that the 20-foot ceilings might leave a cobweb untouched. But this is a proudly clean property, as any of our previous guests will say. We suppose a ceiling fan might have some accumulated dust; we'll cop to that. We have no idea what they're talking about regarding unclean drawers. We've never heard that before. You'll notice this review includes complaints about temperature and bugs; the written note left by the renters included complaints about a storm that blew through. They were upset about wind and rain. We are working to find out a way to control the weather, but we haven't cracked that code yet. We have experienced that, during the summer, occasionally ants find a way into the house when food is left out. It's happened to us. It's not common, but it's life by the lake. There is indeed a beach. This is not, say, South Carolina where you'll find 50 yards of sand from ocean to land. But the beach is lovely for a variety of activies, and previous renters have raved about the privacy of the cove combined with the easy lake access of our 100 feet of level beach frontage. Bonfires on the beach are common. We quite enjoy it. We're sorry they didn't light the one we left for them. We can't speak to whether people are frightened of using a chiminea. It's never been a problem for us. We think it's a good idea to add an additional floor fan or two, and we plan to do it. Overall, we're disappointed to find out a renter had a sub-optimal experience. We're thrilled that our track record is sterling, and we'll continue to do our very best to provide the best experience in the Finger Lakes for our guests.
