Close to shopping and restaurants in Grand Haven, Holland and Saugatuck. Weekly rental: Sat to Sat June 18-Sept. 30, 2011 $2800/week plus $150 cleaning fee and $500 refundable security deposit. Rowden Cottage is a beautiful getaway tucked in a quiet, wooded area overlooking Lake Michigan. The home has gorgeous views of the lake and the private beach is pristine. My 3 friends and I had a wonderful time spending an October weekend together at the Rowden's family cottage. The owners were terrific and very helpful prior to and during our stay. The home is wonderfully maintained and we could not ask for anything better. It was the perfect place for our first annual autumn weekend getaway and we all quickly agreed it would be for years to come!

We have vacationed in Michigan for several years, and after finding this precious retreat in July, 2007, have returned every year since. Private beach, ocean-like waves, and incredible sunsets are yours by day, but also viewed and heard from the cottage by night. This family cottage is big enough for shared movies and dinners, yet intimate enough for quiet mornings and a good book. Favorite house amenities include a large screened porch overlooking the lake, two separate refrigerators to easily accomodate all vacation food and beverage needs, and a convenient laundry room. The internet, large outdoor grill, basketball hoop, and beach toys are also a must mention. Being nestled between Grand Haven and Holland, we enjoy golf, boutiques, and a variety of restaurants. The location is great, surrounding towns are fun, and you would have wished your relatives bought this wonderful place years ago. But shhhhhhh, let's keep it our little secret.

Rowden cottage was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy our last week of summer before sending the kids back to school in various directions. We loved the beach, the easy access to the bike trail, and the proximity to both Holland and Grand Haven. Thanks so much for a fantastic week at your beautiful family cottage. Everything, really everything was perfect.

We had a great vacation in Michigan! After going to the Gulf every other year since 1978, I will have to admit that I was skeptical about changing our destination to Michigan. Your house couldn't have been any better suited to our needs. The basketball court was a life saver (the guys played almost non-stop). We loved the lawn and our grandson kept it well mowed with the Fisher Price lawn mower. We loved seeing the sunset each night. The weather was great although a few nights were a little hot but we were told that was unusual. The water was great. …….We enjoyed playing ball in the water without the fear of being stung by jellyfish. It was nice to go to a completely different area of our country and see how the people there live. We also enjoyed the fresh fruits and vegetables everyday. We made several visits to Grand Haven to shop and Holland even enjoyed the Thursday night street party there…… We liked the history and the charm of your cottage and the area as opposed to the newness of the properties at the Gulf.
