The Spruce Run Lodge is a two-story log cabin in a beautiful West Virginia mountain setting. It has a field stone fireplace; wood burning (firewood is provided). There are 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a king size bed, the other bedrooms have full size beds. This cabin rental in West Virginia has 2 full bathrooms. The cabin also has a cover deck and one half of it is screened in.
The main dining room / living room is a large room with vaulted ceilings. This cabin has wooden floors made from spruce. The cabin is a great entertainment cabin with an open floor plan. It was built by one of the first West Virginia log cabin companies in the late 1960s as a retreat lodge. The rental is for the top story only; bottom is locked off for storage. There is an outside picnic area and fire pit.
We are just minutes from Elkins, WV and Canaan Valley, WV. This lodge is located within Monongahela National Forest, 6.3 miles off of Route 33 east. Our lodge is located within walking distance from the Glady Fork River and adjoins the Monongahela National Forest.
The property is in a semi-remote area of the Monongahela National Forest. The wildlife is plentiful in this area of West Virginia. We have direct access to the national forest and stocked trout streams. There are plenty of areas for West Virginia mountain biking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, or just taking a nature walk. We are only minutes down the road from some of the best sites in the national forest; Spruce Knob Lake, Spruce Knot Lookout, Gandy Creek, Sinks of Gandy and much more.
This lodge is over looking our horse pasture, 4 stall stable, stocked pond and has a great view of the mountains. Our lodge and cabins are in natural surrounding of the mountains and not on manicured lawns or side-by-side. So if you are looking for manicured lawns and cabins stacked on top of each other, you won’t find it here.
We are service oriented and always ensure that our guests' needs are being met. If you are looking for West Virginia mountain adventures, we have it. We also offer West Virginia fly-fishing instruction and Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guides on the property, as well as a full service Orvis fly fishing outfitter service. Horses are welcome on our property and we do accommodate horseback riding. We have horse trailer parking and a fenced area for overnight horse storage and a 4 stall stable.
