Camden - where the mountains meet the sea.
Enjoy a home away from home – warm and inviting. A "ship's bottom" post and beam home in a setting that is both quiet and private while also accessible to town.
Walk or bike to either Camden or Rockport Harbors – we are right in the middle of the two. Camden Harbor is a working harbor with lots of activity – shop, eat, or just sit on a bench and watch the boats coming and going.
Camden is well known for its fleet of schooners, and there are some schooners that take day trips - we strongly suggest taking one of these excursions. Move over to the Waterfront restaurant for dinner on the deck and enjoy the sunset. This is a Post & Beam built House
Rockport is another working harbor with a boatyard that is famous for building boats for people from around the globe. It is has an active lobster fleet and you’ll be able to get plenty of fresh Maine lobster.
You might have heard of Andre the seal who lived in Rockport Harbor and entertained all those who would come visit him at 4pm each day - he is a legend and there is a monument of him at the harbor - you might have read the children's book Andre the Seal or seen the movie.
The neighborhood of Lily Pond borders a preserved farm - Aldemere Farm which is the home of the belted Galloway cows. The farm provides walking trails down to the ocean and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the ocean views.
For those that enjoy art, Rockland is a short 10 mile ride south and has the Farnsworth Museum which is well known for its Wyeth exhibit. There are also several art galleries and unique cafes.
For the adventuresome sort, the Camden Hills offers miles of hiking and 360 degree views that look out to the ocean and islands as well as the lakes and hills.
For the boat lovers, take a ferry out to one of the islands and enjoy a day that you will not forget or rent kayaks and spend a day on the lakes.
Of course there are the usual activities – plays, movies, golfing etc., but don’t leave Maine without enjoying all it has to offer by the ocean and in the hills.
It will be a vacation full of memories.
