Destin, Private Pool, 1/2 Block from Beach

  We had a group of 16 for Spring Break - this house had every amenity we needed. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep - the heated pool was AMAZING as it was still rather chilly. Even when we were rained in there was plenty of room for everyone to chill. The walk to the beach is so short we went back/forth all day. This home is in a very nice safe neighborhood with easy access to everything. The property management company is extremely helpful & addressed our few issues within hours - I was very pleased with our vacation. Thanks so much Ryan!!!

  Barefoot escapes is a delight! Everyone has their space (we had three generations very comfortably in the house) with ample room to get together for "happy hour" (or whatever)! It's only a very short stroll to the beach, yet very private and away from the hubub. Restaurants and shopping are nearby. We have vacationed in many different locations in the Destin area through the years, and this is unquestionably our favorite!

  Our group of 14 came to this house and had such a great week. The house allows you to spend time as a group but yet gives you the privacy of your own room. Each spacious room includes it's own tv, so the adults were not stuck watching Disney channel the whole time. The pool is surrounded by adult height latching gates, which made us parents of young children feel much safer. As an added bonus the pool is lighted and has an outdoor stereo system. The only thing we were skeptical of was that the house was not directly on the beach. Once we got there, that never even beame a factor. The beach is 3 minutes walking distance with kids in tow. It is super close and totally convenient. Not only would I recommend this property to a friend I plan to rent this again for our group.

  We love this house. The description of everything is totally accurate. The house is so comfortable - inside and outside. We loved sitting on the front porch and balcony as well as eating meals at the table poolside. The first floor is a huge room holding the livingroom, diningroom and kitchen- very open and bright.The location is perfect. It is on a side street so very little traffic and no noise. The house is just 1/2 block from the street with the condos and hotels and the beach is just beyond those buildings. The house is about 3 or 4 blocks the other way from the busy Hwy 98 with tons of restaurants and stores. We had everything we needed and the house and property was very clean and well maintained. We had one minor problem, called the rental company, and got an immediate and friendly fix. We loved shopping at Alvin's Island - Tropical Department Store - fun merchandise - just 4 blocks away.We ate at Pompano Joe's - too far to walk but a beautiful drive down Scenic Hwy 98 (not the busy Hwy 98). Great food and so fun to eat outside on the beach. We spent 1/2 a day at Harbor Walk - again too far to walk - lots of shops, restaurants and beautiful boats in the harbor. We enjoyed peace and quiet, the beautiful beach, the slow pace, the pool, and the very homey house. We are already looking at our calendars for a stay here next year. We can see how children would love this house - we had just the adults this year - can't decide whether we want another quiet week and lots going on with kids.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

  This was our first family vacation to Destin and Barefoot didn't disappoint!! This amazing house was just like being at home. Everything you need for comfort and everyday living, as well as some very nice extras. Our three boys loved the bunk beds and we all enjoyed the views from the balcony. Very close to the beach as well as shops and places to eat. The owner was very nice and helpful, a real pleasure to work with. We look forward to vacationing in Destin again in the future and hope the Barefoot is available.

  This was by far the best vacation that we have had in Destin. We go to Destin every year and end up going to a different place to try it out every year. We no longer have a reason to change. Barefoot escapes had everything that we needed. Awesome backyard with a pool (which was the perfect size for my kids), huge master suite with balcony, the kids room with bunk beds was perfect as well. We had another couple with us this year and they stayed in the pool house and it had plenty of space. All in all, Barefoot escapes is the place to go when visiting Destin. And it's only a short walk to the beach!

  What a fantastic vacation in our "home" away from home. From the minute we set foot on the front deck of this beautiful home the hustle and bustle melted away. This home was spacious for our family of four and could host a couple families or a large family gathering with ease. The home is a well appointed vacation rental with all the necessities of home. It is well situated a short walk from the beach and a very short drive/longer walk to the mall, several restaurants (chain and local fare) and a major grocery store. When you are tired of the beach you can relax poolside listening to you iPod, CD's or radio on an outdoor audio system. Our young kids loved playing in the pool more than the gulf. If you want to get out of the sun, cool off inside watching your DVD's or digital cable on the flat panel TV's. And if you are wanting to eat in, the kitchen is well equipped to cook up the fresh seafood you picked up at Sexton's Seafood just 10 minutes west on 98. There is even a spice rack to help dress up your meal! You can seat 6 at the table and 5 at the breakfast bar (my kids favorite!) and many around the coffee table and other chairs. Or you could eat outside by the pool on the patio furnature. My family enjoyed running on the running path just down the street on Scenic Hwy 98, shopping at the mall and outlets, eating the finest filet mignon at McGuire's Irish Pub with kids jumping around on the booth, flying kites, collecting seashells, and making sand castles at the beach, playing in the pool and riding their scooters on the virtually untraveled street, driveway, and side walks. We walked a lot of places as so much is close. But, this home is so centrally located that a drive to either side of Destin is under 15 minutes. My family agrees this was our best vacation ever and we plan to make Barefoot Escapes our escape for years to come!
