The home is in Floral Park, arguably the most beautiful and accommodating historic neighborhood in Orange County, and by far one of OC's best kept secrets. In 2006 it was voted U.S. NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE YEAR! It's nearly a century old, within 10 minutes of Disneyland, and within 15 minutes of the OC's best beaches. The mature tree-lined streets are lined with perfectly maintained, beautiful historic homes built between the 1920s and 1950s. Some streets are lined with mansions, others with Tudors, and still others with craftsmans and ranch homes. Good dining is within walking distance and great dining requires only a very short drive. There are 8 shopping malls within 15 minutes of Floral Park, some of which are considered world class destinations, and 2 of which are within walking/bicycling distance.
Some find it hard to believe, but the neighborhood is populated by interesting wildlife including several species of WILD PARROTS, raccoons, squirrels, woodpeckers, hawks, and more. Some of our guests have spent hours just watching the parrots (sometimes hundreds of them) socialize and hang upside down in the fruit trees in the backyard or the 60-year-old oak tree in the front yard.
The home is very clean and comfortable, architecturally interesting, extremely high quality, beautiful, roomy, welcoming, and accommodating. It's situated mid-street and has over 2,100+ square feet of living space (big for OC), a 10,000+ square foot lot (huge for OC), large enjoyable front and back yards, and excellent amenities. The highly-acclaimed architect who built most of the homes on the street and many others throughout the neighborhood actually built this home for himself. As such the home's design, construction, and functionality are vastly superior to most homes.
The backyard has 4 different fruit trees, lots of room play, a vegetable garden, and is loaded with fun stuff for young and young at heart. Plum, orange, avocado, and lemon trees are in the backyard and ripe fruit is available throughout most of the year. Other fruits and veggies are typically ripe for the picking in backyard vegetable garden. Four chickens also live in the backyard. They're fun to feed and watch, and they provide fresh eggs daily. For the young and young at heart there's a trampoline and a halfpipe in the backyard, as well. The trampoline is 15' in diameter with a net and the halfpipe is 8' wide, 3.5' high on one side and 4' high on the other.
The street is lined with 60-year-old California Oak Trees that give the street forest-like feel, almost like a city oasis. The street is very short, rarely driven, and several blocks from any main arteries. Still it's close enough to freeways to get anywhere in OC quickly. After school and during the Summer, the neighborhood kids often play together in and along the street. Basketball, hide-and-go-seek, and bicycling are some of the favorite activities.
This quiet family home is the perfect place to relax after a day at Disneyland or exploring our many local beaches and other attractions. Come for a stay and sit on the porch and watch the colorful wild parrots, listen to the Disneyland fireworks in the evening, play with the chickens in the yard, jump on the trampoline, play some pool and foosball, skate the half pipe, chat with the friendly neighbors, and enjoy everything OC has to offer within minutes. The Unique Benefits of this House
This historic neighborhood is nearly 100 years old. In some areas you feel like you stepped back into to the 1920s or 1930s. Some streets are lined with mansions, others with Tudors, and still others with craftsmans and ranch homes. The neighborhood shares its streets with interesting wildlife including 12 species of parrots, raccoons, squirrels, woodpeckers, hawks, and more. The street is very short, rarely driven, and several blocks from any main arteries. Still it's close enough to freeways to get anywhere in OC quickly. There's nowhere else like it in OC.

We're sad to leave this marvelous home! Our kids say they wish we could move in for good. Between the book and DVD collection, the toys in the kids' bedrooms, and of course the game room, this place is a kids' paradise! Any family who wants a relaxing place to stay while visiting the area's many attractions should make this their home base. We hope to return next year.

My girlfriends and I enjoyed this home so much when we needed a break from our husbands and kids! We spent a long weekend baking, watching "chick flicks" and just laughing with each other! Thank you so much for giving us a place to kick back and take a break from being "Mommy" for a couple of days-we're all going back to our families feeling refreshed and renewed!!!

When we came to Orange County for my husband's brother's wedding, we wanted to stay in a house instead of a hotel room. With three kids under five, a hotel trip is no fun at all--but this home was the anwer to our prayers. We enjoyed playing the family-friendly games and jumping on the trampoline. I just loved the country kitchen, complete with brick floors and antique cabinetry. My husband and his brother enjoyed the pool table in the garage, and my new sister-in-law and I relaxed on the front porch with a bottle of wine. What a great place to enjoy our family!

We needed a place to stay during a family reunion at Disneyland. My family and my sister's family shared this comfortable four-bedroom, and our two sets of kids had a ball playing in the giant yard. They made friends up and down the street with friendly neighborhood kids! I think the kids had even more fun at this family-centered house than they did at Disneyland! We had a wonderful time staying in this kid-friendly home! Our family of six enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen, the fun yard, the pool table and all the comforts of home. Our kids bounced on the trampoline for hours and played with all the toys in the kids' rooms. My husband and I enjoyed the front porch, and the home's close proximity to Disneyland made it easy to get to the Happiest Place on Earth! Thanks for making our trip feel like we were at a home away from home.
