The Dutton cabin is very secluded, peaceful and quiet with a view of the Tennessee River and Cumberland Plateau. Sunsets are spectacular. It is a double A Frame cabin right on the bluff with heart pine floors and rustic antiques, a stone fire place and a pool the color of a mountain spring. The birds in the Spring and wonderful, and the colors in the fall are intense - you will probably see an eagle cruising the river at the end of the day.

Sunsets are spectacular. There is a constant breeze on the bluff and the air conditioning is rarely needed. The property is a little over three acres and very private. A large field at the entrance with an orchard , plenty of room for soccer, football or just plain running. Also a good place to park a boat.

The area is full of places to hike and explore. It is close to DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon, Cloudland Canyon, Mentone, Guntersville State Park, Buck's Pocket and the Walls of Jericho. Plus you are in the heart of several Wildlife Refuges. There are several places nearby for hunting in the fall and winter. Chattanooga and Huntsville are interesting cities within an hours drive.

Why the Owner Chose Scottsboro

We purchased this place for the view and to be close to family.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

The birds in the Spring are amazing. There is a pool just outside the door the color of a mountain spring. There is always a breeze so I rarely turn on the AC. The fall is a wonderful with spacious skies and beautiful sunsets to match the intense fall colors.

I work as a conservation photographer. Headwaters: A Journey on Alabama Rivers is my first Alabama conservation book. There are many photographs from Jackson County that I made while staying at this cabin.

If your wanting peace and quite, with a spectacular view. This is the place. Had a wonderful time. It was really hot, but did not mind because the pool was wonderful. Best getaway in Northeast Alabama. Will be back when life gets stressful. I have fallen in love. Thanks Beth.

Owner response:Just glad you had a wonderful time and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beth

Mornings drinking coffee on the deck, gazing at the scenery, were followed by full days in the pool. You have a wonderful place here, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. Looking forward to another visit in the future!

Owner response:I am soooo glad you had a good trip. It is really peaceful - sometimes it is hard to remember how important a bit of peace is. Many thanks. Beth

Peace and Relaxation

The cabin was perfect for our group of five. We were all very comfortable. We loved how you decorated it and admired many things you have there. We had a boat and had no problem with it down by the house. We did a long river ride one day. This is a beautiful part of the TN River. It was still a little cold in May to swim but 3 of us did get in the pool anyway! It was so nice to sit out on the deck late afternoon watching the sunset. It was also nice sitting out there in the morning. The clouds were below us! I got some beautiful photo shots from the house! This is a great place to spend time with friends and family. I see us returning many times in the years to come. Thank you for allowing this to be a place we can escape to!!

My family of four plus a dog enjoyed every minute staying in your cabin! The cabin has a great layout and lots of room. The pictures don't do it justice...you REALLY have plenty of room! We explored the area a little, but found ourselves wanting to stay right there at the cabin swimming and enjoying the view. I can't think of a thing that the cabin needed inside. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and dishes. There were plenty of extra pillows and blankets and towels. There's even a good selection of DVD movies and books to choose from. The pool is huge and very clean and refreshing!! Our boys really enjoyed that feature. Thank you for sharing a little piece of your world with us. That is some beautiful country in northern Alabama. We're looking forward to returning soon!

Great place to get away

This is a great cabin in a great location. The view is spectacular at all times of the day. The pool is clean and refreshing. We had a family of six and had plenty of room for everyone to sleep, and even had a twin bed we did not use. The rooms are a good size and quite comfortable. Everything you need is already there; sheets, towels, dishes, etc. The photos and descriptions of the cabin are very accurate. We went to nearby Walls of Jericho for a hike. I would only recommend doing this if you are in great shape. It was a pretty intense experience and is approximately 6-7 miles round trip. There are lots of steep slopes and rocks. We were a little disappointed when we reached the canyon because the foliage was so thick that you could not see much of the walls, but there was a small waterfall and pool of water that was quite lovely. Our family had a great stay!!
