Despite the rainy, cool weather, we had a great time on our girls' hiking trip. We didn't get to hike as much as we would have liked because of the rain, but there are several really cool little towns within and hour's drive of the house, and they were fun to explore. The house was comfortable and very clean and the owner and maintence personnel were quick to respond to our request for additional firewood -- which we used every day to keep the chill away -- wine glasses, which also helped to keep the chill away, and propane gas for the grill, which we needed during the several hour power outage our second morning. Leslie rescued us with the propane and was sweet enough to also bring candles, wax and battery powered, as well as paper plates and napkins just in case the outage continued for a long time. Luckily it did not. There were plenty of bath towels and paper products, as well as laundry and dishwashing detergent, a nice bonus. The jukebox was a fun addition, although it seemed to be possessed and played what and when it wanted, giving us something else to laugh about. Even though the house was in a secluded location, you could still hear the traffic noise from the road, which subsided at night, so that was good for sleeping. All in all it was a positive experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This was a perfect place for myself, my siblings and extended family to gather and celebrate a milestone birthday. It was easy to get to, spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the private location and the hikes on the trails. We were also able to take a drive to the PA Grand Canyon. The juke box was an excellent touch; we used it often....thank you Nathan!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We were looking for a house for 5 different families to celebrate our parent's (surprise) 50th wedding anniversary. Marybeth was fantastic, allowing us to bring our pets, flexible about arrival and departure times. This house was in great condition, very clean (beds were already made!), plenty of room inside and out (understatement) to spread out. The pictures are exactly what the house looks like. The area is rural, and beautiful, and there are plenty of things to do outside. Some went golfing, some biking at the PA Grand Canyon, and the drive to Seneca Allegheny Casino is just over an hour. We rent a lot on VRBO and have had to make allowances in the past because of our large family and dogs, but not this time, everyone was thrilled with the house. Only one caution, if you have AT&T cell coverage, the house sits in an area where there is no signal. Verizon worked great, though. Thanks for the wonderful long weekend, my parents were very happy with our celebration.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at Miller's Mountain Retreat so very much. This was our second stay and we plan to use this home as our "home away from home" whenever we are in the Coudersport area. It was a perfect time of the year to just throw open the windows and enjoy the fresh mountain air. The house was ready when we arrived and the owners were able to accomodate our late night arrival. Thanks again for the last minute getaway! Till next time....Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Miller's Mountain Retreat was the perfect place for our family vacation of 7 adults, 3 kids and dogs. The house is exactly as described, and even prettier in person. It is well maintained and completely furnished with everything you could possibly need. There is plenty of room to gather together or have some quiet time to yourself. The kids enjoyed the swingset and sandbox and we all enjoyed playing cards and games inside. It's a short drive in to town for groceries, miniature golf, etc. and it's surrounded by wonderful parks and beautiful scenic drives. It has nice hiking trails and beaufiful flowers all around the property. The owner was a pleasure to work with and we look forward to going back again in the future. We had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

I want to highly recommend this property as the perfect venue for a wedding reception. We are a local family. Our son was married out of town, which prevented many friends and family from traveling to the wedding. So we rented Miller's to host our now extended family and then gave a lovely Vintage Picnic reception for 65 people on Saturday afternoon. This home was the perfect spot to comfortably house all of the two in-law families, totalling 14, and the lawn was decorated for the vintage picnic. I can't say enough about the private and lovely wooded surroundings, the fire pit for smore's, and the expansive grounds and immaculate house that met every need. Many of the folks who attended or saw pictures of our event were so impressed that they expressed the desire to rent the property in the future for family reunions, Thanksgiving or Christmas getaways, or a girlfriend's retreat. We were so comfortable in this home that we are returning again this weekend for our own family reunion. Thanks to the Millers for sharing their fabulous property with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

We planned a family get together at Millers Mountain Retreat and were very impressed with this property, we had 12 adults and 4 children and the layout of this house allowed everyone to sleep comfortably, and have plenty of privacy, there are extra blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags also if needed, plenty of towels and washcloths in the 3 1/2 baths, washer and dryer also nice, (just in case), large roomy kitchen (easy to prepare meals for large group) property was very clean and well maintained, the house is well decorated and gives you a comfortable home of your own feeling, Stocked with DVD Movies, Games for the Kids, Books Books Books, and a free playing 1950's Juke Box,(good musical selection for everyone) the large back deck and grill were perfect for our Saturday aftenoon cookout, the back yard with playset was a hit with the kids, Beautiful flowers and Shrubs everywhere, this area is beautiful, quiet and private. The hiking trails are great, with easy acess and beautiful views. (4 wheel friendly) When finding this house, Your GPS will get you lost, make sure you drive exactly 1 mile South of Route 6 on Route 872 (Buffalo St.) look for sign on right, easy to miss driveway. Coudersport is a very nice friendly town, (many restaurants) if you drive East on Route 6 to Route 44 (about 2 miles) turn right, several nice stores and an old original 1950's New Jersey Diner. If you have time when you are there or leaving, head South on Route 872 to Austin, it has a very interesting history many don't know about,(tragic) also going South to Route 120 West to Route 555 Benezette PA will give you the best chances at seeing the wild Elk Herds in this area, The owners of this property were very friendly and quickly returned our security deposit, We would recommend this property to anyone and look forward to returning in the future, the "Wilds" area has so much more to do and see.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We lived in Potter County for 17 wonderful years and raised our children there. The ceder-sided house is beautiful, and the 56 acres that come with the house are filled wildlife. We've seen twin fawns frolicking on the mountain and bear cubs racing up trees. Porcupines, raccoons, and rabbits abound. We've biked and hiked and sledded for hours. The town is full of friendly people, and the area has many things to do. It's a great place to get back in touch with yourself and the natural world. We hope you love it as much as much as we do, Jeff and Mary Beth, Granbury, TX.
