This house is just delightful with warm and welcoming homeowners. The quiet setting, right on the water, is just the place to relax and unwind, but only 10 minutes from the center of Freeport. The house is exactly as described with the latest appliances. We had a delightful time and can't wait to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband & our friends come to Maine every fall to eat lobsters. We have outdoor cooking equipment, which my husband uses to cook 4-6 lobsters at a time. (We bought live lobsters at the Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster in South Freeport, which is worth a visit for a casual lunch, even if you don't cook your own lobster. They don't serve beer or wine, but do allow you to bring your own adult beverages.) This rental property was perfect for our needs. The deck & yard are spacious with lots of seating & the backyard is level & private, lots of trees & birds (We had an osprey land in a branch above us with a flounder in its talons!) The dock & the hammock are great for reading in the sun or shade. The house is immaculate, spacious & quiet. Three couples, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms-everyone was happy! We've stayed in many rental properties, but Cove House is the best-equipped place we've ever visited. We lacked for nothing! The owners are very helpful, providing stacks of visitor information regarding shopping, tourism, restaurants, etc. We didn't eat at any local restaurants, but understand there are several excellent choices in Freeport. We visited the Maine Wildlife Park, & did see the moose, but would recommend a visit only if you have children. We would highly recommend this property!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I just spent a week in this house with our 2 young kids. If you are looking for something spacious, comfortable, sparkling clean and very well-stocked, this house will be a great choice. The owners are very nice and helpful and the house had everything we needed. The kids loved going down to the dock to check on the tide, the canoe was fun when the tide was high, and even on the rainy days we were able to relax and enjoy some "inside time." There were ample towels, linens and paper goods. If you are looking for a rental in this area of Maine, without hesitation, I would recommend staying here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
