This area of the canal is quiet and peaceful during the fall and winter. A great place to read or write, relax or work. However, being right on the water, you can experience some blustery winter winds and rains, the waves break and the spray lands on the windows (your 15 feet away from the water). But you'll be warm an comfortable next to the fire inside.
Living room has a cozy timber frame interior, river rock fireplace, and a wide open view of the water and the mountains.
Cozy Master bedroom has private full bath and cable TV w/DVD, it's in a quiet place in the back of the cottage.
Guest Bedroom has view of the water (20 feet away). Has a private entry, ornate wood stove, cable TV w/DVD, and desk. You can hear the waves on the beach from your bed, and see the stars through the upper windows at night.
Large outdoor deck for entertaing and relaxing. Fenced yards front and back for containing kids and pets.
The cottage is approximately 1 hour drive from Tacoma via the Narrows bridge, 40 minutes from the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry, 50 minutes from the Fauntleroy(West Seattle)-Southworh (Port Orchard) Ferry

Husband is engineering mgr, wife owned a small business.
Why the Owner Chose Tahuya
In the 1950's as a child I vacationed with my family at an old resort approx 1000 ft from our location. In mid 1960's my parents bought this property and it's been evolving and perfected continuously since then. In the late 1970's my wife and I bought property nearby for our family. When my parents passed away in 2003 and 2005, I sold my properties and bought the cottage from the estate. I have been upgrading the exterior and interior since then.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Sitting on the beach eating oysters. Hot day reading a good book, go for a quick swim, then back to the book. Floating in inner tubes. Fishing for Cutthroat Trout. Orcas in 2003 and 2005. The seals. Eagles chasing ducks. Swimming with an otter pup. Cocktail hour, friends, great music, warm wind and the waves.
