If you're looking for an idyllic family vacation, like you see in movies, look no further! My family of 4 from Florida met my Sister-In-Law and her family of 4 from North Carolina, at this beautiful lake house on Lake Oconee. This place is spectacular and exceeded our expectations for a family lake-house vacation. The home is light, bright and fresh with beautiful, comfy furniture. Our 10 year old boys slept in the bunks downstairs and got up with the sun each morning to fish off the dock. Our 7 year old girls had their own room upstairs, where they played with toys till the grown ups got up. Yes, we grown ups actually got to sleep-in each morning! The adults loved sitting on the balcony, sipping coffee and watching the hummingbirds, while the kids played in the giant yard. For indoor fun, the kids loved the X-box and an older Nintendo gaming system, along with an air hockey table. The house was immaculate with plenty of space for our 2 families. I'm a cook, so I was quite impressed with the expansive range of cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc for making big meals. And it was wonderful to all sit down together, as a family, at the big dining room table. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake as well as in the above ground pool. And our Florida kids were amazed by the fireflies that came out at night (we don't have them in FL), while we roasted marshmallows around the fire pit. The house is about 1.5 hours from Atlanta, where we spent a really fun day at the Georgia Aquarium. We also rented a boat from a nearby marina, and spent a glorious afternoon tubing and swimming. We also found a place, while boating, called Jumping Rock where the kids (and a few brave adults) could run and jump off a giant rock into the water! Noeleen and her husband were wonderful to rent from and very helpful. We look forward to returning, again and again, to make more amazing family memories.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

The sunsets were beautiful and we enjoyed them from the upper level porch and the dock. My grandchildren loved the above ground pool! We really appreciated the fact that the property was situated on a quiet end of the lake; away from noisy boats. A great place to relax and enjoy family!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had the pleasure of staying here last summer and my kids keep asking when we can go back. It is the perfect vacation spot...a beautiful, secluded, relaxing setting with lots of space and activities to entertain children or more active adults. The kids (and adults too actually) loved the above-ground pool, fishing off the dock and playing sports on the big lawn. I could also totally see going here for a "girls weekend" or just with my husband. It's so peaceful to sit on the big deck or watch the sunset on the dock. The owners were incredibly helpful and if anything, didn't do the place justice in describing the accomodations. I was pleasantly surprised by how stylish, clean and well equipped the house was, we've paid much more for rental places elsewhere and gotten much less. This place is a bargain compared to other homes we considered in other parts of the lake. Thank you so much and we'll be back!!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We really had a great time. You have a beautiful house. I love the hardwood floors. The house had everything we could have needed, and all the comforts of home. We would love to stay there again, so maybe I can arrange it on one of the school breaks. My youngest son (he's 12) kept us out on the water most of the time. Thanks for renting to us, and hopefully we can do it again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Why the Owner Chose Greensboro:
We fell in love with the location! We had been to the lake a couple of times and just loved it. When we decided to look for a vacation home for our family we wanted to find a place to truly escape - no crowds just tranquility and a great place to build memories with our children. We drove up the wooded driveway and all of the sudden it just opened up onto this amazing wide open lake view. That was it - we fell in love!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This truly is a place to unwind and enjoy time with friends and family. With the lake in your backyard there is lots of fishing, swimming, boating and enjoying sunsets on the dock. The Oconee National Forest is steps away so there is great hiking and picnicking available. We keep the technology low out at the lake so we can truly decompress and spend time as a family - lots of nighttime camp fires out on the back patio, playing board games, building puzzles and just relaxing on the top deck or the dock. My husband loves to golf and I like to walk around the town of Greensboro - all just a short car ride away.
