Great place for family gathering

This is a great place for family gathering. We picked this property because it allows pets and it was in a secluded area away from the city, but we were surprised to find out how clean it was and not really that far from the main strip. The house is nicely furnished with a large living room and kitchen. All linens and towels were provided, and the kitchen had all the necessary utensils for cooking and dining (which we fully made use of since there was a chef in our group). We also enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi, and its easy access from one of the bathrooms. We also had wireless internet connection, but it was spotty around the house (better connection from the north end of the house). One bad thing (or it could be a good thing, depending on how you see it) is that there was no good cellular reception (both AT&T and Verizon) in the house; however, the house does have a land line phone. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and despite living next door, we only saw him when we arrived and when we left, so we really felt we had the entire property for ourselves during our stay. We all had a wonderful time at this Tahoe River House, and would fully recommend this as a great place for a family gathering.

Owner response:Our renters privacty is one of our main concerns. Our land line offers unlimited continental telephone service. We provide this service at no addition charge as the cellular reception is not good at the house. Reading this renters review, we have corrected the spotty wireless internet connection service.

This property is fabulous. It is so incredibly clean and well stocked. Nice furnishings and kitchen utensils, etc. The setting is perfect for hiking and biking or just sitting in the beautiful yard. The jacuzzi is perfect and under the starts and pine trees. What a great time we had. Will definitely return. Can't wait

I want to share our wonderful Tahoe experience at the Leal property. I have multiple allergies and am always quite concerned about staying away from my home. The house is a “good housekeeping seal of approval” clean. The kitchen is a family gathering place. The house is well equipped to please all with games, TV and plenty of space for reading or quiet time. We most certainly took advantage of the location for outdoors activities. Our kids and their dogs enjoyed the expansive lawn on the Truckee River. A real winner for families which most certainly includes the pets!

My friends and I have stayed in many rentals in the Tahoe area and this was among the best. The house is well maintained and updated, and well stocked for a stay. Considering the easy access to the ski slopes, we'll be keeping the phone number around for next winter!

False advertising (3rd bathroom)

3rd bathroom is a closet with a shower head. Last time I checked thats considered a half bath in real estate. Was not very convenient having only one real bathroom on the bottom floor and eight people.

Owner response:The bathroom is conveniently located off the family room with a door that allows you to step into the hot tub on the rear deck. It is a small bathroom with a shower, toilet, wash basin. steamer unit, and clothes locker. The many people that have used this bathroom have commented on the uniqueness and usefulness of this bathroom. This renter had 12 people in the home. He stated in his review that he had 8 people. So much for the truth. He never registered any complaints or references to this bathroom which included the extensive walk thru of the home upon arrival. This renter left our home and hot tub flthy. He rented our home for only two nights. This renter caused permanent damage to our home and required additional cleaning not included in the free cleaning. This review is a retalitory response to divert his attention to the real problem - renter abuse of the property. As the home owner is a licensed general contractor, great care is taken to maintain the home and provide the guest with an exceptionally clean and sanitized home. This renter had to dig awfully deep to find something to complain about. This is the email the renter sent to me upon departure. "Thanks again for the use of your house...everyone had a great time! We put the towels in the laundry room/laundry machine, took out the trash, put the house key on the drawers when you first walk in, and put the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and turned it on. Thanks again! If you could let me know when you mail the security deposit I can make sure to look for it in the mail." Clearly, this email indicates that the renter had a "great time." There was no mention of the bathroom. This renter's review cannot be taken seriously.

I spent Christmas at the Tahoe river house with my girlfriend and her parents and would defiantly come back again. The location of the house is prefect; it’s affordable clean, well maintained, with clean comfortable beds. The owner was very accommodating. He snowplowed a private path to the river where we had an awesome winter picnic. There was never a dull moment because the house offers endless entertainment inside and out. The house feels like a spa with a steam shower bathroom next to the outdoor hot tub. We left feeling like we saved money on entertainment and food because the house was so great we never left.

Our family of 5 (plus one dog), had wonderful holiday, right from the first greeting. We were shown through the property and given full instructions on how everything worked. Our 3 children had a spa every day and used the convenient bathroom to rinse off on the way in. The snow was cleared every day and the property was excellently maintained. The kitchen was a dream and had everything you could possibly need. The house is located between 3 ski resorts and is only five minutes from restaurants and supermarkets. A week here was too short. We will back. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

River house south of Tahoe - Great Location

We stayed at the river house last summer. My sister was visiting with her 3 kids, my wife, our 3 kids and me. The house supported us all very well and the property was tremendous. It kept the kids busy with access to the river, a huge lawn in back, walking trails and plenty to do. We really enjoyed the house, property and location. We will definitely come back.

Great Tahoe Getaway

My husband and I along with our dogs had a wonderful week at this property. The house was clean and well stocked and the property a picturesque short walk to reach the river and the river cabin. The owner was very cooperative and helpful. There are many hiking trails close by, easy drive to town, lake and casinos. We would love to return in the winter snow season.
