Year Purchased: 2004
I am from the Outer Banks. I went to Manteo High School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I studied Political Science and History. I have been living in the DC area for the last 12 years, but my family still lives on the OBX. I have a 5 year old Golden Retriever and he loves the beach too. I am a triathlete and I take advantage of the many bike/running trails in the area.
Why the Owner Chose Southern Shores
I chose the Southern Shores area to buy my home because it is somewhere I personally enjoy living. This location is perfect because it is so close to the beach, but it has privacy because it is surrounded by trees. East Dogwood Trail is a beach access so I never have to drive. Southern Shores is located close to Duck and close to Kitty Hawk so the traffic never bothers me much. I love the spirit of the Outer Banks. The restaurants and beaches are beautiful and it is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends.
The Unique Benefits of this House
It is the perfect location. The beach is right across the street, restaurants are within a couple of miles both North and South of the house, shopping is the same. It still has a neighborhood feel because there are running and biking trails right outside the door so everyone can enjoy their vacation!

Stephanie was just wonderful to work with (even in short notice). The house was just perfect and had everything you needed for a home away from home. The pictures just don't do this home justice.Loved the kitchen and open living room. The fenced in yard was great and Brody (4yr old yellow Lab) LOVED it!!! Great location to all the fun and wonderful things OBX has to offer. Loved the sound of the ocean from the decks at night! Could not have asked for more for a great escape! We really enjoyed our time and hope to rent again soon!

Great cottage! This was the cleanest OBX rental we have ever been in and totally met our needs. The nice fenced in backyard made our dog very happy. The owner could not be easier to work with. The walk to the beach was quick and as advertised. We'd definitely return.

This was our first trip to the OBX. Southern Shores was a beautiful, friendly and very laid back vacation spot. The house was much nicer than it appeared in the pictures. Extremely clean, comfortable and great location. The open floor plan made it a great place to enjoy family and have a great time. Our 4 yr old son especially loved the jetted tub with the TV! The beach was beautiful and just a very short walk away. Stephanie was great and very easy to work with. Can't wait to go back!!!! Thank you for a memorable vacation!
