My Wife, our little Chihuahua named Koki, and I spent a week at this cabin and it was nothing less than amazing. The interior is breathtaking and felt like what you dream a nice well built log cabin to be like. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials, as well as the rest of the house with linens, towels, etc... We know for next time (and there will be MANY next times) to bring much less with us. The craftsmanship of the cabin is unsurpassed and is stones throw away from the lake. The property is beautiful and expansive, with lots of areas to walk and explore. We spent a great deal of time inside just enjoying the peace and quiet of the cabin getting caught up on some books and working on a puzzle (the cabin is stocked with those too). The birds chirping during the day, and frogs and loons at night remind you that you are far away from the daily grind and can slip into relaxation next to the wood burning in the fire. When you venture out, keep an eye out we saw plenty of deer on the property as well as birds and other animals. The cabin being pet friendly was a huge plus for us, and out little girl enjoyed herself and did plenty of napping. If you have dog, this is a solid bet. We even ventured to let her off the lease which we cannot do at home because too many people around. As a shutterbug, I found many opportunities to take out my camera. Beautiful sunsets, great landscapes, and even the cabin itself was a centerpiece for my snapshots. If you are looking for a wonderful place to relax... look no further you have found it. You will not be disappointed.

What an amazing place! Thank you Ann and Jerry for sharing your wonderful cabin in the woods with us! Everything we needed was there--a great kitchen stocked with basics, comfy bed, plenty of firewood, and peace and quiet! I would definitely recommend this place to couples, families, groups of friends. There is space for everyone! We will be back!

My husband and I, our two boys (ages 11 and 15 yrs) and golden retriever spent 3 wonderful nights in January at this cabin. We were thrilled by the beautiful setting and privacy... in fact, we didn't see another person the whole time we were at the cabin. The cabin is well-appointed with lovely views. We watched the moon set over the lake from the loft bedroom. it is a luxury to have such comforts in a remote spot. Very clean. Well-stocked wood supply. Jerry and Ann were gracious about teaching us about the place and surrounding things to do. We hope to return soon.

My Husband and I just rented the cabin over New Year's and we absolutely loved the place! We had a lot of fun using the wood burning stove and taking the dogs out on the frozen lake! We did run into a bit of a snag, the backup generator had some issues but the owners were very sweet and had someone out there to fix it as soon as they could. (And an extra candle-lit dinner and yatzee was certainly romantic and fun.) We would highly recommend this cabin because of it's neat features, the beautiful area and because the owners are so friendly and pleasant to work with.

We were looking for a place to get away from it all and this was the PERFECT place! Our visit was from October 3-7, 2011. It was so peaceful and colorful! The cabin felt like home (after Jerry's quick tutorial) and his suggestion of Springstead Lake Lodge for a casual dinner out was fabulous. We started the days out on the kayaks and had the water to ourselves! Spotted loons, ducks and bald eagles while on the water. Took hikes through the woods everyday and ended our evenings with a fire and a million stars and the moon. There was nothing about the cabin, the surrounding woods or this vacations we didn't love. This was one of the greatest vacations we ever took and we look forward to visiting again!

Jerry and Ann Thank you so much for sharing your home. We don't think the photos do it justice. This was the nicest home we have ever rented. We were looking for a quiet place to get away and enjoy the stars at night. Everything was just perfect. We found we spent most of the time reading out on the deck just enjoying the view. A perfect place to decompress. Thank you again for your hospitality, We've made many of our friends jealous when we've shared the photos of your beautiful home and surrounding property. Many thanks again!

Quiet, secluded, peaceful. The cabin is charming, well maintained and very clean. The owners are great. My wife, our 18 yr old son, our well behaved dog, and I enjoyed this delightful cabin in a pristine location. A variety of wildlife (loon, beaver, otter, deer, eagle to name a few) were to be seen on the very private 120 acres. We ate all our meals on the large deck with wonderful views of the lake. We enjoyed freshly picked raspberries from the many wild raspberry bushes on the property at every meal. We made s'mores over the campfire while enjoying the sunset. Kayaking and canoeing on the lake watching the sunset and moonrise over the trees was a special treat. The cabin runs off solar panels for electricity making this place eco friendly without sacrificing the comforts of home. Very appropriate given its natural setting. We will be back!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it (many apologies for the lateness of our review). The cabin is very well kept and has a great sunset view out to the lake. We spent quite a bit of time cruising around, both in the canoe and the kayaks, and we had close encounters with loons, otters, and a beaver on the lake - which had completely to ourselves. We saw deer every time we drove in and out. Given the tranquility of the surroundings, we just spent a lot of time relaxing in the living room and reading. It was heavenly. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and staples and we brought groceries, so cooking was easy. We did venture out a couple of times, once to do a paddle on one of the rivers nearby and then a day trip to Bessemer, MI, to see the many falls of the Black River as it comes into Lake Superior. The paddle trip was fun, but the Black River day trip was really something. Highly recommended, there are directions and more info in the book at the cabin. Overall, it was a great honeymoon. We had the lake to ourselves, and with the exception of our outings, we saw more animals than we did people. We may make a return trip some day!

We just returned from our weekend at this beautiful well maintained cabin in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Our 2 children enjoyed the lake, fishing, observing all the painted turtles around the yard as well as the campfire pit where we made s'mores. The home is well stocked with everything you need in a home away from home. The beds were very comfortable and the home had a very cozy feel to it. Quality throughout the home was very apparent. Beautiful views from every window in the house. This was a wonderful place to stay and would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for total seclusion and privacy. Ann and Jerry were very, very accomodating to anything you may need and were willing to give advice on things to do in the area. If you choose to do nothing, I assure you, you will be well rested and enjoy this vacation home!

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary together at the cabin and had a fantastic time. It is absolutely gorgeous, very secluded, and immaculately clean. Jerry and Ann are great hosts, meet you at the cabin to show you around, and quickly get out of your hair to enjoy your time there. You have all of the amenities of your own home with beautiful scenery. We saw a lot of wildlife, but unfortunately did not run into the black bear that supposedly roams around the area. Great walking paths, beautiful canoe rides around the lake, and cozy fires at night made this a perfect little weekend retreat. I would recommend this to either a couple or small family.

I was thoroughly impressed with everything about this cabin. My boyfriend, dog, and I needed a quiet getaway from the overly exhausting city life and we got it!! It was just what we needed to relax, unwind, and there was much to explore for our dog. The cabin looks exactly as it does in the pictures posted online, so there were no surprises. Ann and Jerry were more than accommodating with information about where to go in the surrounding area. Overall, we had a lovely experience and will most likely choose to stay at their cabin again for our next North Woods trip.

We had a wonderful winter get-away at Jerry and Ann's cabin. It is a beautiful cabin sitting about a mile back from the road littered with trees, sitting on a lake! We enjoyed icefishing and appreciated Jerry bringing over an auger and tip-ups for us to use. Our boys loved the ping pong table and all of the games that are stocked at the house. We brought our own food to fix in the stocked kitchen, and were in a bit of amazement when Ann told us to just write something on the list if we used the last of it! The surrounding area is beautiful. Our golden retriever loved taking walks and checking for wildlife. This cabin is very clean and well-maintained as it is used as a second home. You can tell that it is very loved. Jerry and Ann were always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond in welcoming us to stay there. We would definately recommend this property to a friend or relative, and if fact have! We are hoping to return in the summer to enjoy all of the wonderful things this property has to offer during a different season.

We visited Jerry and Ann's cabin this past week and it was just what we needed. We were looking for a place that was peaceful and homey and their cabin was perfect. They made us feel very welcome --- I felt like we were visiting family. Jerry met us at the cabin to get us all set up. The cabin is very spacious and extremely tidy/clean. The pantry is well appointed and they have every kitchen item that you can imagine. We loved stoking the wood stove and learning how to calibrate temperature (we started out a little on the toasty side:). You'd never know it was 20 degrees outside! Another plus was that our little dog Jake was welcome at their place. We will enjoy returning when the temperatures allow us to enjoy the beautiful lake, deck, and fire pit. Bob and Bernie.

The cabin is so much more than photos can show, and it is even more spectacular to experience for yourself. We had 3 nights that passed all too quickly. Ann & Jerry are the perfect hosts and everything still has its "brand new" feel to it - it is like staying in a private, custom lodge - immaculate and well loved. Best of all we could bring our dog who loved being in the outdoors - and other than a spare dogbed, you'd never know that other dogs have had their best vacation here one time or another. There was no one else on the lake when we were there and the peace and solitude were enough to keep us content with just oil lamps and sound of nature all around us every night. The smell of the wilderness in Autumn is a real treasure! There's a boat, a canoe, & kayaks, so there is no reason to stay on the shore - we didn't fish, but there are plenty to be had. The reflection of the stars on the lake every night is the memory I will treasure most. We cannot wait to escape here again - we missed the height of Autumn splendor this year, but we will surely try to make it next year. This is the place your soul longs for - a place to be renewed and reawakened. Thank you Jerry and Ann for sharing your sanctuary, your piece of heaven with the rest of us!

My wife and I rented this cabin for a weekend in early Oct. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and well stocked. It is situated in a remote area, so if you're looking for a relaxing, serene, getaway you will not be disappointed. There was only 1 or 2 other cabins on the lake, so you should not have to worry about noisy neighbors or sharing the great little lake right out the back of the cabin. We went kayaking 3 times using the owners 2 kayaks. The cabin is very well stocked, and the owners were great to work with - kind, informative, and hospitable. Great experience - would recommend to anyone looking to relax in the Northwoods and enjoy beautiful scenery.

We timed our annual fall getaway perfectly as the colors were at their peak and we had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful log cabin. It'd be hard to find a more serene and relaxed setting - gorgeous woods, calm, private lake (rumor has it there's two other cabins somewhere) and all the wonders of nature. It was a bit chilly outside, but the woodstove provided a toasty radiant heat that was so cozy and comforting. Wherever you choose to sit and relax or read a book you have a incredible views of the great outdoors. Cabin well appointed and very friendly and accomodating owners.

My husband, daughter, and I (along with our two dogs) spent a week in July in this wonderful log home and enjoyed the peace and quite very, very much. We can now cross kayaking and canoeing off our bucket lists as this was the perfect place to do it! Everything that has been written about the cabin and Ann and Jerry is very true. The cabin is exactly what those of us not lucky enough to live by the lake can only dream about. We had the deer, loons and turkeys to keep us company, yet the bear who lives nearby must have been vacationing elsewhere as we never had the chance to meet him (or her). Our ping pong experience was short-lived as the dogs just could not understand why they couldn't play too! Ann and Jerry could not have been more gracious in helping to make our stay as great as possible. We have spent many vacations in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, visiting towns such as Minocqua and Eagle River and of course eating at Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty. This cabin will certainly go down in our books as the nicest place that we have stayed at. Thanks again Ann and Jerry! We had a great time!

My wife and two daughters spent the week of August 15th at their beautiful cabin. Very peaceful and well stocked. We felt very comfortable and this is an easy place to relax. We fished and took walks, as well as went horseback riding in Boulder Junction. Jerry & Ann put allot of TLC into this cabin. We saw all kinds of wildlife, but did not see any bear. The loons were present every day and we also had an eagle soaring overhead. We would highly recommend their cabin if nothing else, for the tranquility! We enjoyed reading and playing board games and cards when it rained, but we were never bored. What a beautiful place to get away to. We appreciated their hospitality!

Abundance of loons and tranquility. My husband and kids caught fish everytime they tried. We all enjoyed ping pong tournaments when it rained! Ann has thought of everything. There wasn't an item she didn't have stocked and available, so when she says you don't need to bring it, she means it!

We just returned from a week long stay at the cabin and loved every minute. We brought our three-year old, and found the cabin child-safe. We were looking for a remote getaway from cellphones, email, Internet, etc. and found it! We spent time on the lake in the canoe, enjoyed the deck and patio campfire. We saw wild turkeys and deer on the property. We enjoyed the occasional sound of a resident screech owl and of course the loons. We ventured out and explored Mercer, Manitowish Waters, Minocqua, and a small waterfall in Lac du Flambeau. My favorite restaurant was "Michael's Parlor" in Manitowish Waters, it is next to a local gift shop too. You'll love this cabin.

This is a wonderful location with a very comfortable, impeccably maintained cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet on our week long stay here. We kayaked and canoed on the lake – observing a loon with her baby and taking in the beautiful water lilies that were all opening up. We hiked the grounds with our dog (who loved the place as much as we did). On our walks we spotted deer, grouse, turtles, turkeys, and the occasional tick (watch out for those!). During a few rainy days, we took drives to the nearby towns of Minocqua and Eagle River – both had cute downtowns with tasty dining options. The owners do a great job of stocking the cabin with all the necessities. We greatly appreciated their hospitality. You will not regret spending some time here!

My husband and I spent 4 days in early May at Jerry and Ann's cabin and can't wait to go back again. The cabin is located directly on Letho Lake. There are only two other houses on the lake but we were the only ones there this weekend. We did a lot of fishing on their lake and other local lakes. It is an extremely peaceful area! We also took a lot of walks with our dogs on their land. The property is beautiful and very secluded with a lot of different teraine. Jerry and Ann were extremely hospitable. The cabin had everything we needed. All in all it was an extremely relaxing weekend, exactly what we needed. We have rented several places through VBRO and this has by far been the best yet!
