My husband and I spent five days in one of Eliana's units. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Eliana and her husband are charming and most helpful. We were grateful that we had only one flight to climb to be in our unit. The location is perfect -- right in the heart of the east side of New York nestled among shops and restaurants. And, considering it is in the heart of NYC, fairly quiet for sleeping. We happily would stay again in one of their units.

Impossibly Wonderful

My boyfriend and I stayed in the one of the flats last weekend. The owners are quite lovely, and our stay was very comfortable. The location was perfect for us. It was very close to restaurants, subway, shops, and bars. I highly recommend.

A perfect East Village gem

I cannot begin to recommend this unique and charming apartment highly enough. I stayed for two weeks and in that time I really felt as if the East Village had become my home. Eliana and her husband made me feel very, very welcome and were always on hand with advice and kind words to make my stay go smoothly and comfortably. The apartment itself is wonderful, full of light and comfort and just perfect for a single traveller like myself, but I could easily see it being an ideal base for a couple or small trio of girlfriends. It was in easy walking distance of the 6 and F trains, plenty of bus stops, a drug and grocery stores as well as a launderette so all your needs are right on your doorstep; a perfect way to get out and explore the vibrant and exciting city of New York! During my visit I made the usual trips to the museums (all superb), the Empire State building and Statue of Liberty as well as taking in the street markets and fantastic shopping; spent many happy hours hanging out with the locals in coffee shops and all night diners and enjoying the excellent and varied cuisine close to my door and watching the incredible fun of Easter celebrations in nearby parks. I would heartily recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to New York- the location is excellent, the noise level low for the centre of a large city and both the apartment and your hosts welcoming, kind and very, very charming. Thank you once again to Eliana and her husband for making my stay so very, very memorable and happy. I will always appreciate it and be grateful to you both.

Clean, cool, and comfortable, truly welcoming, and just a grand experience to see and enjoy the obvious care with which Eliana and her husband treat these fine properties. There is a palpable respect for the dwelling itself -- its history, its design, its inhabitants-- that this traveler has seldom found, and so appreciated. The hosts made every effort to be helpful and obliging, from beginning to end, as did other associates. While their representations are excellent, the spaces themselves prove even more attractive and engaging once seen. Would glowingly recommend these vacation rentals to anyone interested in savoring a brilliant New York experience, as well as neighboring restaurants: Veselka; Prune; Creperie, and sites: LES Tenement Museum; Williamsburg Bridge (Peter Luger); Orchard Street, and the landmark Bowery Ballroom. I can not speak highly enough about our stay here. This was actually our second time. We were there in December and loved it so much we came back in February and didn't hesitate once to book the same place. We were impressed the moment we arrived. Eliana's husband greeted us the first time, we arrived late, and we immediately connected with him. It was like we were old friends gathering over a beer. That personal touch really meant the world to us when these days it seems like things are so impersonal. Eliana greeted us the second time and we caught up where we left off. Amazing couple and they took care of us. Before we arrived, I had an itinerary of where to eat, what to see, where to go, without even asking from the owners. While we were there, they were always available if we needed anything, but also gave us our privacy to enjoy our weekend getaways... The apartment was perfect for us. We really felt like we were at home. (the bed is soooo comfy by the way!) The way it is laid out you can hear the city while you are sitting in the front drinking your coffee and planning your day. When you sleep in that comfy bed, it is really quiet (and I am a light sleeper) because it is in the back. It was very clean and tidy. I have nothing bad to say about our experience and I can be very picky at times. Location, location, location!! We loved this area! If i lived in NYC, this is where I would live. There are amazing restaurants (lil' frankies, Frank's, Beauty & Essex), whole foods is in walking distance, soho, the list goes on. I am a yogi and there are yoga studios in walking distance as well as my favorite Juice restaurant - Juice Press. Also, the mercury lounge is in walking distance and we caught some amazing music there for my birthday. We walked to Soho both times we were there. The subway is just a few blocks away to take you anywhere. Obviously, we loved everything about this property - the owners, the space and the location. And we didn't just have one great experience, we had two. I am sure we will be back again soon and stay here again.

three great weeks in new york

my boyfriend and me spent three wonderful weeks in one of elianas beautiful apartments in the east village. the apartment is bright, big and charmingly furnished. everything is close by. if you need anything, eliana and her husband will make sure to help you with anything.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in one of the properties. We were pleased with the size of the space, wifi, tv, kitchen and loved the location. It is a nice tree-lined block that feels residential, yet you are within short walking distance of countless great restaurants and shops. The owners are were very kind and responsive making the coordination process run smoothly. They also provided us with recommendations of East Village hot spots that the average tourist would not find. You may want to inquire on which photos advertised are for the space available as there are more than one. I recommend using the menupages app if you have an iphone or smartphone and want to track down the suggested restaurants. We loved momofuku, mono+mono, Ippudu, John's Pizzaria, Clinton Street Bakery, Babbo and there were many more to try if we had more time.

I have nothing but good things to say about this rental. The location was perfect (heart of LES). Only a couple of blocks from the subway, surrounded by great restaurants, and for a record collector like myself, walking distance from multiple record stores. The property itself was clean and spacious, just big enough for my brother and I. The owners were very helpful and welcoming, and made the visit that much more pleasant. As it was my first time in NYC, having this rental for my homebase was perfect, and if I ever make it back to the city, I plan to contact them for another stay. Highly recommended.

Nice place in East Village

My daughter (17 years) and I spent a very pleasant stay in this little apartment, conveniently located in East Village, close to public transport, shops and restaurants. The area is green and quiet. We lived like New-yorkers. The apartment is very well organized, clear and very cozy furnished. I want to emphasize the exceptional hospitality of its owner. She received us as friends or as family members. I recommend both the area and this apartment for travelers wishing to explore New York in a different way. I invite travelers to explore farmers' markets, community gardens, parks, Lower East Side, Chinatown, Soho within walking distance.

Lower East Side Gem

I stayed in this apartment in April on my way around the world. I had been to NYC several times before but had not stayed in an apartment so I can't compare this with others. However, its location is just about perfect and the hosts are wonderful. It is very quiet but inches from Second Ave. It must be one of the last of the Lower East Side apartments not to have been totally gentrified which means you get to live in the funkiest area at the best price. If you want to eat out go round the corner to the greatest Japanese restaurant I've encountered in a long time (Jewel Bako - one star Michelin). Buy your food at Wholefoods down the other way and eat at home. The place is cosy, the facilities fine, the bed is really comfortable and it is very clean. Even the most minor issues are addressed by the hosts immediately. This is what makes it so special. Eliana and her husband make you part of the family and after a few days you feel like a native. I want to buy the place and move in. You will have no regrets staying here. Oh, and have a drink in Scratchers on 7th St. for me. Way cool.

Thank you! The apartment was both very homey and chic. The cost was at least half of what a nice hotel room would be and the location could not be beat. We were a half block from one subway stop and two blocks from another. The five boroughs were our oyster! The owner took really good care of us and gave us all kinds of advice and recommendations about restaurants and things to do. I would with out hesitation recommend.

Fabulous visit in NYC

We recently spent a week at one of these apartments on the lower east side. The hosts were excellent and gave us great directions and recommendations based on our tastes. The location couldn't be better if you are looking for nightlife and great restaurants and cafes. Very safe too, we were comfortable venturing out anytime. The apartment was facing a nice courtyard at the back of the building, which meant it was quiet even as the neighbourhood came to life at night. I would recommend this location and these renters. Thanks to you both for making our trip to NYC even better than expected!!!

We spent two glorious weeks staying in this apartment in September. The apartment was very clean, and like home away from home in a great location close to everything we were interested in. In fact it was so nice to come home enjoy a meal and wine in the garden, that sometimes it was hard to go out at night again. The subway is less than 5 minutes away and everything you need, other than personal things, food etc is provided. The owners are charming and informative and our only regret was we couldn't stay longer. Would recommend this unreservedly.

I recently stayed at this property (Aug/Sept 2010) and found the accommodations to be as described and as promised. The overall experience was fantastic. The neighborhood is ecclectic and bustling yet the apartment quiet and quaint. Public transportaion was easily accessible from this property. Waterways, bridges and interesting sites to explore nearby. Whole Foods and Wholesome Foods nearby as well as other convenient stores. A simple space, no clutter to speak of, incredibly clean and well kept. A simple kitchen, a full size fridge, enough to make for a most comfortable stay. A full size shower with bathtub, a washer/dryer, wireless DSL, a comfortable couch and an HD TV. Perfectly appointed and a great location, I highly recommend this property.

Feeling at home on vacation in NYC

I stayed for one week in the wonderful apartment in Lower East Side---It is a fantastic location giving you access to a great neighborhood and also easy access to walk to other areas. Close to public transportation too. The apartment is as described, clean, well appointed, great building and you don't hear to street noises too much because you are next to the very lovely garden. The kitchen has everything you need to cook if you like. Full size bathroom, great shower. The owners are very kind, friendly and were professional, but not at all "stiff." They were very welcoming and concerned for my comfort and made sure I understood how things worked. The apt is also not made so that you feel you should not make yourself at home. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I have friends in the neighborhood and it was easy for me to meet with them for meals/cocktails. I was living like a "local." Honestly, I can't wait to go back for another visit to my "home" in NYC. Fantastic restaurants in the neighborhod (Prune is right next door), easy to markets, pizza, coffee, Katz's Deli is very close. I would/have recommend to friends/family. I feel also that I have new friends with the owners of apartment. I don't know if you're supposed to say names here---they are fantastic. I am missing NYC as I write this review.

the apartment was clean and functional...it was nice having the patio space in back to relax and have lunch...the kitchen area is brand new, and everything you need to cook with is provided (there are four gas burners, no oven, but a toaster oven). the photos aren't all of the same property... some are from different rentals that are also available...the owners are extremely nice and gracious hosts...they are both artists and very mellow...the location is perfect...you are close to everything on foot (l.e.s , east village, little italy, soho, china town, wash. square & west village) subway is across the street...katz's deli, lombardi's pizza, falai restaurant are all must stops...caught a fantastic off broadway play (red) on the owners recommendation, and also saw shows at the apollo, birdland and 55 bar...will definately stay here again!!
