Location: Imeroviglion, Santorini, Cyclades, Greek Islands, Greece, Europe (Located on the malteza steps overlooking Mount Skaros) View Map
Accommodations: Villa, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)
Keywords: Villa
This property is not a hotel, but rather one of the last large private homes left in Imeroviglie.
This house is offered by a private collector of homes in exquisite locations around the world. The property literally borders the renown Malteza Hotel and it is across the path from the heavily touristic Malteza Church with large parking lots which are rare in Santorini.
It’s separated from public pathways, stairways (where tourists gather) and parking lots by a large gated wall which is located at the end of a dead-end pathway with no thought traffic.
True privacy!
This landmark does not merely mimic traditional Cyclades architecture in a slavish cartoon like miniaturization (as many caldera properties claims to do) instead it has been from it’s creation the essence and the embodiment of that style.
It is equipped with contemporary amenities but entirely furnished with genuine centuries old antiques many of them hand carved. Some of the beds are artist created sculptures and the candle chandelier apparatuses augment the ordinary contemporary lighting system. There are a total of more 200 linear feet of balconies and decking ornamented by a genuine living grape arbor.
On a clear day 18 to 20 islands can be viewed from these terraces and the spectacular hiking path to Mount Skaros begins a few yards from the entrance.
The closest beach and boat harbor is 2km, just over a mile away, at Vourvoulos and a medieval street and staircase runs along the summits of the caldera and connects Imeroviglie with the center of the capital Thira with its museums, boutiques, handcrafts, night clubs, and dance clubs. At is based connecting cable car reaches the ship port and it’s cruise ships.

we were very disappointed in the villa. It had so many issues that we could not stay. We were able to find a suitable place the second day so we only had to stay in the villa 2 nights. Some of the problems I list below, but there were more. We did not even want to stay in it the second night but could not get a different place. Very disappointing after such a long trip. One apartment was flooded with water when we arrived. It was mopped up but was very very damp all night and we could not use it until the next day. There were ants all over the bed area of the upper apartment and we had to leave it during the night, at 2:00 in the morning. The main apartment had so many flies that they annoyed us all night. The internet never worked The refrigerators did not work properly No hot water in 2 baths, only one working shower with hot water The entire place was damp and musty and had not been aired out prior to our arrival There are many outlets and light fixtures that do not work We were not showed how to use the fixtures, the towels, and the furniture was not even placed out of the balcony. This villa should not be rented out until it undergoes some basic maintenance It was certainly not prepared for our visit. Santorini is such a wonderful place that we still had a good visit, but only because we were able to leave the villa and find suitable accommodations..

This house is mind-blowing. One of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen. Everything is clean and in perfect order linens, towels, bathrooms, beds… To enjoy the Jacuzzi overlooking this amazing ocean and Mount Skaros is just fantastic. I highly recommend and I want to be back for sure. Jeff and Ramona

We came, we saw, we were conquered! I knew I had hit jackpot choosing this place the first day we arrived. We loved it! The house was very neat. The care taker Moshos is a very nice guy. We wish we could stay longer.

Viajei para muitos lugares do mundo mas nunca pensei que fosse ter oportunidade de estar em uma casa tao bela como essa. A casa e espacosa e bem localizada. As vistas o por do sol sao definitivamente os melhores do mundo. Vou sentir falta da Grecia e essa experiencia sempre estara em minha vida. Nunca irei esquecer!!!!! Recomendo a todos de Portugal.

Stay Sep 7 - 14 2009. House is fantastic. Lots of room and spectacular views. Parking was not a problem. The maintenance however leaves a lot to be desired. Just got security deposit back today (Oct 20) way more than the 10 days stated. It's a cheque so will update if it bounces. - There was no water in the house when we arrived (9:30 PM). I had to take a pail of water out of the hot tub in order to flush the toilets in the morning. - On arrival the shower and toilet had a strong sewer smell. - The hot tub was full of fungus and was definitely not sterilized or useable. - No Internet. - No TV. - No microwave - No clothes dryer. - No hot water in one of the rooms. - Cupboards and dresser drawers had a lot of junk in them. - Box of wine in kitchen looked like it had been there for months. - Garbage container on patio hasn't been emptied for some time. - Lack of pots for cooking. - Many of the dishes were cracked. - Pile of trash behind washing machine. - Some of the cutlery and pots were rusted. - Many burnt out light bulbs. We were lead to believe that we got the place for 1/2 price. Not so.The rental is for the whole property not just for the 2 large rooms. There were no comments when we rented this property. Would have picked another instead.

House listing -The beach was VERY far. Too far to walk and all up hill on the way back! (about 2.5 miles) -The Jacuzzi did not worked properly and was very dirty -Had many North American appliances that blew fuses when used with an adapter -TV, internet, hair dryer, alarm clock, radio, dish washer did NOT work -A lot of junk around the house, old clothes, appliances that didn’t work -Much of what you see in the pictures is not there ie. microwave, swing -There are not 5 bedrooms, beds/couches out in the middle of the room -One bathroom and kitchen did not have hot water -the listing of facilities on this website has since been modified -we did not know how to work many amenities and there was no guide or orientation given to us regarding proper procedures -would recommend getting a vehicle for beach trips or going far distances -amazing view from the house -the house was very damp, there were 3 dehumidifiers and one worked and when plugged in it surged the power because it was North American -it appeared that someone had been living in one of the rooms; it was very messy with clothes all over. We were told we could not use the room when we first arrived, although we paid for the use. -does not sleep 12 comfortably Cleanliness -there was MOLD on the pillows and walls (health risk for sure) -house was not cleaned or prepared for our stay, they had to clean it once we arrived and questioned the cleanliness -dishes were dirty -we spent our first day cleaning -the house was not tidy at all -this was a high allergen environment Customer Service -the owners live in the United States and have caretakers in Greece -Owners told caretakers we were 4 people arriving earlier than what we did and for only 4 days. Really there were 10 of us and we were there for a full week. -The caretakers did their best to fix any problems we were having -we could not get a hold of anyone upon arrival back in Canada to help with all the discrepancies, the toll free number doesn’t work outside of NA Although the view and location were amazing, this house was disappointing. The mold and unclean amenities, along with broken and unsafe appliances, made this a very unpleasant villa to stay at.

First of all: It is a really, really nice house! The terraces are great, the view is amazing, the furniture and the decoration are pretty nice. But: Don´t expect it to be clean or anything but disgusting. These are all the surprises you should be prepared for: - mouldy pillows - a lid under one of the beds that covers the sewage which leads to an awful smell in the whole room - a suddenly flooded room - a very damp main room - a fridge you can´t plug in and use because they´re American - things like TV or the Internet that were supposed to work (as it says on this page) but actually don´t - missing bathrooms and beach towels (not they number that was stated on this page) - ... I guess there a many more things which I can´t think of now. So be prepared!
