Cozy apartment in a small building dating back to 1400, on the first floor with no lift. It is situated in Vicolo del Leopardo, Trastevere, one of the most ancient and characteristic areas of Rome. The apartment has been recently renovated to make it more comfortable and modern without, at the same time, changing its characteristics.
Although it is central, it is also very quiet because it is in a pedestrian area. The flat has easy access to all amenities and many restaurants, "trattoria" and pizzeria. Romantic getaway for couples and, at the same time, because of the double convertible-sofa bed, good for families. Trastevere is the ancient, historic heart of Rome, famous for its night life and unique culture, narrow streets, unforgettable, small shops and a special atmosphere of village life amidst a large city. It is 50 square metres composed of an entrance, a bright and airy lounge with a double convertible sofa, a bedroom with a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a tiny bathroom with shower. Furnished with antique furniture in harmony with the lovely wood, beamed ceiling, the apartment is complete with TV with satellite, DVD, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning and an independent heating system.
In the flat there is a computer with free internet access, ADSL and Wi-Fi system if you have your own computer.

Magical location, great hosts, and a lovely clean apartment.

We spent the first week of our month long holiday around Europe in Rome here. In a truly rustic location, the cobblestone streets lead you to a quick trip to the nearest tourist attraction and, by night, an authentic experience in once of the fantastic restaurants only steps away. Jet lag (from Australia) normally means that the first week is a bit weary and easily forgotten, but we have such vivid memories of our time in Rome, and particularly Trastevere. A stroll through to the nearby piazza and breathtaking Santa Maria church was a well worn route in those few days (not to mention the well priced and lively bars nearby). The apartment itself offers an excellent and tidy kitchen, very comfortable and relatively spacious living area. The windows from the living area open out to the enchanting cobblestone street below, where the murmur of nearby bars and ristoranti soon draw you into the night. The food nearby is truly excellent and well priced, although it's always best to ask for local advice to avoid tourist traps. The bedroom is simple but comfortable. The bathroom is quite small, but clean and reasonably well appointed. The shower is a little cosy, and is a tight squeeze for the taller client (i'm just a touch over 6ft), but it is still good enough. All in all, pound for pound, this was the best apartment we stayed in during our month long holiday through Europe, and I feel very grateful that it was also the first.
