The house is located in the heart of Provence, close to the region's most appealing sites.

The house is in Eygalières, a trendy yet uncrowded and lovely Provençal village which has remained authentic and full of character and charm.

The house and property enjoy a magnificent view of the Alpilles mountains, and spectacular surroundings.

The 4 acres (2 hectares) enclosed property has landscaped gardens with olive , cyprus, pine, bamboos and fruit trees.

It is decorated with lavenders, rose laurels, bignonas and roses.

Large level lawns surround the secured pool, ideal for families with children.



The 3500 sq. feet (300 square meters) house is in perfect condition.

The house can accommodate 10 people

Its rooms are large and bright:

- a spacious living and dining room,

- a large shaded terrace facing the Alpilles mountains which the living room looks out onto,

- a roomy outdoor and covered summer dining room with a lovely view, two barbecues and cooking facilities,

- a fully equipped kitchen close to both dining rooms, with a separate pantry,

- five large air conditioned bedrooms, each with a private bathroom.
There are two king sized beds, one queen sized bed, one double bed, and two twin beds.

- one common powder room next to the living room and a common bathroom.

A 40ftx20ft heatable (150 euros/week) private pool with shower and an electric cover that maintains water temperature.
The pool is surrounded by a child secure fence which is fully inside a hedge.

The fenced property is reached through an Iron Gate equipped with a remote. The gate can be opened from inside the house.

There are two covered parking spaces outside and one in a garage with remote control.

The house includes:

- wifi broadband internet access

- widescreen 42' LCD satellite TV with foreign channels (BBC, CNN, Disney...)

- multi-zone DVD player

- free telephone calls to America and Canada, to non-cell phones in western europe (other countries, please inquire).

- a high-chair, 2 cots and a playpen.

After departure maid service is included and a change of sheets and towels with three maid hours is provided a week for multiple week stays (extra maid hours 12 euros an hour).

The house is ideally located to discover Provence as Eygalières is in the middle of the major sights.

- within 15 minutes are Saint Rémy and les Baux de Provence (a spectacular historical medieval fortress and adjoining village),

- within one half hour's drive are Avignon, Arles, Tarascon and le Lubéron region's hilltop villages Gordes, Ménérbes, Roussillon, Bonnieux and the Sénanques abbaye.

- within one hour's drive are Aix en Provence, the famous Chateauneuf-du-pape vineyards, Orange, Vaison la Romaine, le pont du Gard (famous Roman aqueduct), Nîmes, Uzés, la Camargue, the Mediterranean, les calanques de Cassis.

Add to this the gentle country and Alpille views, shaded outdoor dining and shaded poolside areas and you have an idyllic, restful holiday retreat.

Location:
The very quiet property is located 1 mile from Eygalières via a small country road and at the end of a 1/4 mile private access road.
Its much less densely built area is non-buildable.


Activities:

- Markets/marchés (Local fruits, vegetables, foods and products) in surrounding villages such as Eygalières, Saint Remy and l'Isle sur la Sorgue on alternate days of the week,

- numerous local fairs,

- major flea market, numerous nice antic stores and lovely setting in l' Isle sur la Sorgue, a small town 15 miles away.

- Major Festivals: - Avignon, - Aix en Provence, - Orange, - La Roque d' Antheiron.
Bullfights in Nimes and Arles.


In Eygalières you will find:

- two grocery stores with excellent local fruits, vegetables and cheeses,

- two bakers,

- an excellent butcher and caterer,

- a newspaper stand, a post office, a pharmacy, two hair salons

- ten restaurants,

- three lovely bistros/bars with shadded terraces.

There are many fine restaurants and pleasant bistros/bars with shaded and sunny terraces in the area in:

- Eygalières which has ten restaurants including the Michelin two stars "Chez Bru" and its brother "Brasserie Chez Bru",

- nearby villages,

- Saint-Rémy, 15 minutes away, an also trendy and quite larger and busier village than Eygalieres (while maintaining Provence's uncrowded feeling compared to the Riviera),

- les Baux de Provence, 20 minutes away,

- Avignon, 30 minutes away, a beautiful Provencal city, classified in UNESCO's world heritage, with its papal palace, the largest gothic monument in the world, home of the Catholic church in the middle ages, and its world reknown cultural festival in July,

- Aix en provence, 45 minutes away, another beautiful Provencal city which, like Avignon, has an old and exceptional downtown which is wonderful to stroll in.

  • I just returned to NY from my two week stay at Mas des Deux Puits. I was there with my wife, our two kids (4.5 and 2.5) and our nanny. We were joined by my sister-in-law and her family. We had an incredible time and cannot wait to be back. Eygalieres is the perfect Provençal village. It is easily accessible and located in the very heart of Provence. The village is incredibly quaint and quiet, while offering great dining options and essential shopping (butcher, general store, vegetables and fruits, pharmacy, etc). The beauty of Eygalieres is that it is not a huge destination for "day tourists", so it's not as busy and congested as some other towns in Provence. Mas des Deux Puits is a wonderful house, fully equipped and extremely comfortable. It is removed by the main road (via a gravel road), so it is very quiet and private. The grounds are amazing and the views spectacular. The vast garden and swimming pool were a huge attraction for our kids. The house is not the most luxurious and modern, but it is very well appointed and comfortable. The rooms are pretty and all have air conditioning (very rare in France and a must for us). The satellite TV kept us in touch with the world and the kids entertained when we needed. The well-equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area allow for the perfect Provençal lunches. The owners were very helpful and available for questions, guidance and assistance at all times. They have organized the house in a user-friendly way and provided written instructions for just about everything. They also helped us get a cleaning lady to come every day (at an additional cost) and a cook to make us lunch once. We have been all around Provence and can safely state that there's no better place to stay than Eygalieres. Mas des Deux Puits is the perfect destination for a large family or a few couples with or without kids. I have rented houses in many places in France and Spain and can easily say that Mas des Deux Puits ranks in the very top when location and comfort are concerned.
