Accommodations:  House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 7-9)

Nestled in a quiet owner-occupied neighborhood west of the by-pass, our cottage rests only a few blocks from the sound. The best part about Nags Head is the WAVES! No, wait -- the surf fishing -- or nature walks, golf, lighthouse climbing; rummaging through countless art galleries and craft shops. (Previous guests tell us their favorite is "Mrs. Clean's" personal touch -- working her magic before every visit to assure a pleasant first impression.)

The cottage covers one floor, on pilings - the open and bright, vaulted great room includes a living area, dining area, and fully-equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher. An oversized eat-at bar provides extra room for eating or rainy-day beach activities if you have kids. Dish Network TV and DVD player are central to the living area, and central air and ceiling fans make for an enjoyable vacation.

The master bedroom offers a queen bed and master bath with shower, a second TV, and VCR. Bedroom #2 contains two twin beds, and bedroom #3 hosts a bunkbed set and a twin bed - Total sleeping for seven people (5 adult maximum). A sofabed in the great room brings the sleeping count to nine - perfect if you have kids and they bring a friend! Our kids and their friends have enjoyed many a day here. With friends along, the kids were seldom bored and we kept our sanity! :-)

The large covered porch greets the sunrise or relaxes with friends for a drink at the end of the day. There's paved, covered space below for two cars and paved open space for three more; and an outdoor shower to get the sunscreen off at the end of a lazy beach day. No Smoking and No Pets -- we expect you to honor the quiet nature of the neighborhood.

There's PLENTY to discover at Nags Head! Come visit - you'll definitely come back!

Oh, yeah -- I left out the EXCELLENT North Carolina State Aquarium and the outdoor drama "The Lost Colony" and the Wright Brothers memorial museum -- all a short drive away. Jockey's Ridge is the largest sand dune in the east -- you can hang glide off it! Cape Hatteras is home to the most famous of all lighthouses, with several other lighthouses scattered along the coast to tour as well. There's great pier, surf, or charter fishing and crabbing nearby and outlet malls for an entirely different "fishing" expedition!

  • We recently stayed at your house and found it to be extremely clean and comfortable. It was a very short drive to the beach, but the kids chose to walk several times. We were close to K-mart, the movies and the grocery store, so that was all very convenient. We had excellent weather and enjoyed sitting on the deck with a nice breeze after a day at the beach. We made full use of the outdoor shower as well as the two addtional showers in the house. Thanks for the great vacation!!

  • Our first trip to the outer banks was the summer of 2003. We have never traveled much out of nys. We found this house to be very comfortable.relaxing and well equipped. The location was very good as well. We were able to walk to the souns as well as the ocean. Truly enjoyed our week there ands we are looking forward to returning.
