Originally a sea captain’s home and more recently a bed and breakfast, this spacious home serves up both an in-town address and immediate access to the Great Harbor. There’s plenty of space to relax or gather, and if rented in conjunction with any one or more of the owner’s other Great Harbor properties -- Topsail or Port-- you’ll see just how well-suited the home is for especially large groups.
FIRST FLOOR: Traditional front porch with covered entry. On the water side, find two living areas-- one with gas fireplace, both with sleeper sofas and doors to the deck that showcases the views. Dining and kitchen area with fireplace. Bedroom with queen bed and private full bath with tub and shower. Also on this level find two more full baths, each with tub and shower.
SECOND FLOOR: Two water-facing bedrooms-- one with queen bed, gas fireplace, private full bath with tub and shower and private balcony, the other with queen bed, gas fireplace, private full bath with tub and shower. Bedroom with queen bed, gas fireplace and private bath with shower only. Second floor kitchenette (large) with small dining table and futon sofa bed.
THIRD FLOOR: Bedroom with twin beds and a bath with shower only.
PORCH/DECK: Front porch with covered entry. Water-side deck with chairs for taking in the pretty harbor views. Small second floor balcony, also with water views.
The recreational, cultural, and dining offerings in this area are incredible with the fantastic Acadia National Park at your fingertips as well as the island's other small towns and villages accessible on a FREE bus transportation system!
The Park, with its nearly 32,000 acres of land offers unequaled beauty and ocean front access. Over 55 miles of carriage trails were created and gifted to the people by John D. Rockefeller provide easy hiking and biking to the summits of nearby mountains with vista of unrivaled beauty.
In spite of all the physical beauty and charm of the "Island" we hear most from our newer guests that they were most impressed with the friendliness of the community and the people of Southwest Harbor. Most are anxious to make a visit to Southwest Harbor an annual affair
