On a 1.2 acres property, this newly 2000 s/f + remodeled Acadian style designer's private home is situated in the heart of French Cajun country. Built with recycled architectural elements and antique finishes, the house has 10'-0" high ceiling throughout, vaulted ceiling upstairs, hardwood floors, tiled bathroom, claw foot tub, the many antique windows open to secluded lovely country views and flood the house with light.
The great room is furnished with exotic antiques, art and comfortable sitting, there is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, great breakfast bar and a simple elegant dining room. Surrounded by large covered porches, the home is perfect for entertaining or enjoying a peaceful sunset. The house sleeps comfortably 6 people, each bedroom has its own bathroom, the many doors and windows offer plenty of ventilation.
The house has also central air/heat upstairs and downstairs. We are taking care of the garden and we have pest control service, we have a housekeeper living near by to take care of all your needs. Additional housekeeping and catering service can be easily arranged for your convenience.
We are in a quiet, secluded rural setting however we have some neighbors and we do not wish to disturb their peace and privacy. We ask that no more than 12 peoples be on the property for day parties of any sort without previous permission by owner.
Arnaudville is a small French village, emerging as a new art community since Katrina, Nunu's cafe and art gallery has the best local bands, creole and Zydeco live music. Myran's is one of the best known crawfish restaurant in the area, there are also small antique shops and art galleries.
Explore the surrounding villages: Breaux Bridge with its Cafe des Amis, dine in style in Grand Coteau at Catahoulas or go to a downtown live free concert in Lafayette and enjoy their many fine restaurants. New Orleans is only 2 1/2 hours away, you can go by the scenic way via New Iberia etc..The gulf is about 2 hours away via gorgeous country road.
This is an ideal place for nature's lovers, hunters, fisherman. Lakes, basin and mysterious bayous abound. Many towns have gorgeous architecture and great little shops. The music, food and warm hospitality are unique to South Louisiana and will fill your stay with wonderful memories. Please no smoking inside the house at any time.

A 53 years old interior designer from California but in love with South Louisiana, from Dutch and French ancestry. I have moved now in Grand Coteau with my husband, a village 8 miles away from Arnaudville. Still work part time in Los Angeles and enjoy very much my new life in Cajun country
