Nestled in the heart of Old Longueuil, our house is a fifteen minute drive to downtown Montreal and Old Montreal on the South Shore of the majestic St-Lawrence River.
If you prefer to avoid the regular traffic of any large city in America and not worry about parking your car, you may wish to experience Montreal’s subway system which will allow you to safely access any of Montreal’ main interest points within minutes. Our home is minutes away from Longueuil metro station. Montreal is waiting for you!
Longueuil’s origins date back to 1657 when Charles Le Moyne, a businessman from Ville-Marie (today’s Montréal), was granted land on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River, across from Île Sainte-Hélène. He named his seigneury Longueuil in memory of his native Normandy.
Built in the late 30’s, our house, referred to as a “duplex” in French, is a perfect example of the typical Montreal architecture of that era. The house is composed of two apartments of 6 rooms each, with nine foot ceilings and beautiful original stained glasses windows.
We are a few steps from the local bakery, coffee shops and trendy bistros and restaurants of St-Charles Street
Our unique family situation allows us to offer the apartment on the second floor to visitors and professionals looking for a home away from home. You will be charmed by the front room with the large balcony overlooking St-Antoine de Padoue Cathedral. Your morning coffee will never taste the same again…
The Vieux Longueuil is home to many street festivals. Coupled with the busy Montreal schedule, you are assured to fully experience Montreal joie de vivre. Here’s a brief summary of what’s coming this summer:
• June 13th to August 15th ( every Saturday) The Loto Quebec International Fireworks
Festival. We are two blocks from the best view from the South Shore.
• June 24th: Fete National du Québec. Many street festivities and outdoor shows.
• July 1st: Canada Day. Many street festivities and outdoor shows.
• July 1st -12th: Montreal International Jazz Festival. World renown and a “must see” with
free outdoor shows.
• July 3rd –26th: Just for Laugh Festival.
• July 24th-August 2nd: Francofolies: Enjoy our finest Francophone artists.
• August 8th -16th: St-Jean sur Richelieu International Hot Air Balloon Festival and
Roger’s Cup ATP Men’s tennis championship.
• August 27th- September 7th: International Film Festival.

The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
The proximity to Montreal allows me to commute by bus and metro when going to work. The charm of Old Longueuil with its bistros, cafes, restaurants and essential to life services reminds us of France and the "old countries". We have everything we need within a few foot steps.
