Welcome to “Bear Tracks,” a comfortable and cozy abode located in the gated Deerfield Resort at Norris Lake. Nestled between the Cumberland and Great Smokey Mountains, Norris Lake’s 800 miles of beautiful shoreline is a coveted haven to boaters, skiers, and fisherman alike.
Newly remodeled, our 2,400 sq foot Colorado-themed home invites one to kick back, relax, and enjoy the view. Comfortably sleeping 8-10 guests, our home is the ideal stay for two families with 3 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, and a sleeper sofa. Each generously sized bedroom has its own private bath, walkout to an expansive deck, and a view of the lakefront property.
The first floor contains a fully equipped kitchen, vaulted dining and living room, and a beautiful wood-burning fireplace. Walls of glass give you a bird’s eye view of a spectacular 180-degree view of the lake and Swan Wildlife Refuge across the water. The dining and living room open to the expansive deck outfitted with comfortable lawn furniture and a gas grill. In the evenings, we encourage you to light the Tiki torches or build a bonfire at the fire pit and enjoy the soothing sound of the water lapping the shore as you enjoy the starry sky.
One of the master bedrooms is located on the first floor while the second master bedroom and third bedroom are located on the lower level. Each master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, private bath, and walkout view onto the deck. The third bedroom has two full-sized beds, private bath, and walkout to the deck as well.
An extremely gentle concrete path to the private boat dock (no steps) makes it easily accessible and convenient for all ages to enjoy the lake. Our dock includes a covered boat slip, jet port for your PWC, and swim platform for sunbathing. Don’t feel like cooking? Need s’more marshmallows? Bear Tracks is conveniently located only a few minutes from Shanghai, Sugar Hollow, and Springs Marinas.
After an exhilarating day on the water, make yourself comfortable in our backyard retreat. Relax in the hammock or enjoy your favorite book while rocking on the porch swing. For your entertaining pleasure, Bear Tracks is equipped with a Bose Surround Sound System, 47” Plasma wide screen TV with combo DVD/VCR, Nintendo, and an extensive movie, game, and book collection. Feeling a little competitive? Give it your “best shot” with cornhole or challenge a friend on our original Miss Pac Man machine.
Other amenities provided by Deerfield Resort include: an 18 hole championship golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball, children’s play area, marina with boat ramp, and paved airstrip for private planes.

Year Purchased: 2005
Cincinnati, Ohio natives, Dan and Debbie Motz and their daughters, Christina and Courtney fell in love with Norris Lake back in 1994. In 2000, Dan and Debbie purchased a "starter house" with friends on Deerwood Lane in Deerfield Resort. In 2005, the Motz's purchased their own private lakefront retreat and named it, "Bear Tracks." My husband and I came down for a long weekend and had the kids come for two of the days. This house is absolutely immaculate and well appointed. You will never get bored here. The house is on the water with a dock, so you can boat or swim. There is a firepit, a hammock, games and movies galore and my favorite was the swing that overlooks the lake. It's like being on vacation but with the comforts of home. We were very impressed with the home and would highly recommend staying here. Kudos to the owners.
