This rural house with swimming pool is a 5 min. walk from the city of Lanjaron, Located in "La Vega" garden region full of orchards, chestnut trees and traditional gardens, still cultivated in the same fashion as it was hundreds of years ago. It has a beautiful view of the valley to the Mediterranean and peaceful surroundings to hike and explore. It's perfect location makes the house a convenient base for daily trips to the High Alpujarra Villages, the Mediterranean beaches and historic Granada.

Lanjaron has the richest cultural life of the Alpujarra region with plenty of rural traditions, historic health spa, restaurants, and diverse entertainment. We live in the upper unit and will be available for advice on local activities, guide you to hidden beach coves etc.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1999

My wife, Fina and I reformed the house in 2000.
I am a designer and she is a social educator.
Together we resolved the living spaces to function well
socially and with good natural light.
We used noble local materials such as hand made clay flooring,
chestnut beams then finished it off with some modern details and colors.
Both apartments are loaded with funky antiques from various parts of the world.

Why the Owner Chose Granada

The location of our Cortijo is ideal.
It is surrounded by lush vegetation but is just a 5 min walk to the historic village of Lanjaron.
There are also beautiful nature hikes you can take right from the house.
The beach and Granada are just a 40 min drive away.

    • We had a wonderful stay in this nicely decorated very personal cottage. The owner is very helpful and a good source of information for the surroundings. Between Granada and the beach you can visit both easily.

    • We had a wonderful week at Greg's cottage in Lanjaron. The view is incredible, the grounds are amazing and the somewhat quirky but very peaceful town of Lanjaron is but a quick walk. (You get a free tapas dish with every drink you order in the bars...how good is that?!) I would definetly recommend this to anyone who wants a week or two of total relaxation in a beautiful setting.
