Year Purchased: 2006
We are retired and have a home in Ontario. We have travelled to many world destinations including South-East Asia, the South Pacific, Africa, Europe, plus sailed and cruised in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and other countries. These were wonderful vacations, but it is still a joy to call Ajijic home. A continual blooming paradise.
Why the Owner Chose Ajijic
The dry, perfect climate and small town friendliness were elements in selecting our home. Five years ago we rented a home for three months and fell in love with the town (a common feeling). We thought we would return to Canada and see if the feeling returned with us. It did. We returned the following year and searched for a home within walking distance to town, on a quiet street and privacy was paramount to our life; as we read outdoors for hours. We walk daily and have not felt the need for a vehicle. Buses and taxis are handy for longer trips.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy many cultural interests. There is a large art community here, with many galleries and "Art in the Park" days, Lakeside Little Theatre, concerts, "Behind the Wall" tours, golf, tennis, Hot Springs, classical music, dinner theatres, fine Lakeside dining and sharing Mexican family life and fiestas and markets. The sounds of horses on cobblestones, church bells, roosters - at all hours, glowing daily greetings and children's laughter are the memories you will take home and will be imprinted on your heart forever.
