The Columbia street house is 2 story, in the "Craftman" style featuring a living room with original brick and updated gas fireplace. The adjacent dining room shows off beautifully maintained original woodwork as well hardwood floors throughout the house. All floors have plenty of windows and easy viewing! Outside is just as beautiful as inside! Sit on the front porch in the Adirondack chairs and watch Hood River drive by, enjoying the well done landscaping. The upstairs bedroom(1) has an air conditioning unit and ceiling fans and maintain the "Craftsman" style with appropriate updates. The main floor bedroom also has air conditioning and new windows.
After enjoying the day, take advantage of the very clean outdoor shower in the beautifully landscaped back yard. Relax on the back patio while watching the garden grow. Or enjoy a freshly grilled salmon on the back deck!

We rented the house for 1 week in August 2010 while in Hood River for our daughters wedding. The location was perfect, close enough to walk to the downtown area or restaurants. We used the house as a central gathering spot for all the out-of-towners and a place to relax.The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and then some. We loved the outside shower. There was even a small garden that we allowed to help ourselves to the tomatoes and herbs. The deck across the back looks out toward the Cloumbia River and was a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning or enjoy the cool evenings. Thanks Elizabeth!

We rented for a whole week with our whole family and it was just a great place. The very best vacation our family ever had together. Close enough to town to walk and so much to do in the area. Elizabeth recommended the Wet Planet white water rafting, which was the highlight of our week. Drinking coffee on the back deck in the morning and watching Mt. Adams come into view and also watching the wind surfers from the back deck was great. We spent one whole day just seeing all the beautiful waterfalls in the area. The outdoor shower was also a big plus. We really felt like it was our home and we belonged there for the week. Very cozy and roomy. We are from Michigan, but if we ever get to Hood River again, we will be staying in this house again. .
