Bamboo Valley Inn Grand Opening Special 2BR/1BA $139/$169
Year Purchased: 1994
Why the Owner Chose Haiku
We first saw this property in 1994 and immediately fell in love with the location. Being near all the necessary conveniences, but hidden in a quiet tropical valley, surrounded by bamboo forests, running stream, and towering eucalyptus trees is ideal. Our 1,000 foot elevation brings us cool nights, resulting in great sleeping weather. We have lived here for 18 years and continue to appreciate the beauty each day.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
One of our favorite activities is taking long walks on beautiful Baldwin Beach, located just 10 minutes away. This beach offers shallow protected coves, great for young children as well as open ocean for those who love the waves.
Owner's Map of Haiku

A fabulous home away from home in Maui!

My husband and I have been staying in upcountry Maui since 2008, and the Bamboo Valley Inn exceeded our expectations. First of all, the home is even more beautiful in person than the photos show. Everything is brand new (which I didn't realize when I booked it), and no detail was spared in the construction. The bathroom is huge with gorgeous travertine tile and granite counters, and high-end cabinetry. The jetted soaking tub is incredible! The walk-in shower was perfect. The bedroom is also ginormous and very nicely decorated. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept on (I need to find out what brand that bed is!). Finally, there is an office with a desk, which, again, I had no idea existed when we booked (I was in a hurry to book and maybe missed some details in the description). Oh yeah, the kitchen is really great, too! The place was very quiet, and the setting couldn't be more picturesque. Kudos to Tom and Vicki---they couldn't have been more accommodating to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. All in all, we would highly recommend a stay at the Bamboo Valley Inn. And, to comment on a reference to groceries in an earlier post--Mana Foods in Paia is very close and has the best prices AND the best food on the island! Also, don't miss Market Fresh Bistro in Makawao for fresh, farm-to-table gourmet food--the best I've eaten (and I've traveled around the world). Thanks Tom and Vicki!!!

We stayed at the Bamboo Inn from Dec 16-23/11 with our 4 year old and 7 month old. This place is tucked away in the forest and so peaceful and lovely, yet it is conveniently located close to Paia, the beaches, uplands and road to Hana. The place was exactely as described in the photos, well equipped with nice appliances and sharp knifes! We were pleasantly surprised with all the kids games and toys tucked away on the backside of the kitchen island. We enjoyed the beautiful solitude on the deck, and saw the end of the rainbow right in the yard. Perfect for those looking for a peaceful getaway. We would recommend doing your grocery shopping in the town by the airport as local grocery stores were very basic, if not a bit scary. Colleen's restaurant in Haiku is an awesome place to eat!!

We had the most wonderful stay! The suite was even better than we thought it would be. It was extremely spacious and comfortable. The location was fantastic. We didn't want to be in a touristy area and relished the quiet! But we were close enough to everything we wanted to do. There were nice local restaurants. We ate at Colleens several times and Max's had great pizza and dessert! Tom and Vicki were great hosts! The suite was clean and well equipped. We felt like we were at a luxury resort! We would highly recommend this suite to anyone!

my vacation in Maui was just beyond luxury. The place is well decorated, cozy, clean and very private.Vikki and Tom are so welcomed. The location is perfect. It's only take short while to reach good restaurants, beaches and supermarket. I certainly would love to go back again....i can call it home not just bed and breakfast.

We could not have been happier with this vacation rental! The location is away from the typical tourist scene, very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the ground floor rental and the attention to detail inside was fabulous, from the local wall art to the fresh flowers. Everything was in great condition and super clean. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, full of Aloha! Highly recommend!

We had a great stay here at Bamboo Valley Inn. We stayed in the lower of two units which was recently renovated. Everything in the unit was good quality and made our stay there comfortable and convenient. Our first few days there was a family upstairs, but we hardly heard any sound from them and the birds and the quiet jungle sounds were all we ever heard. We booked this place after the owner of another place (www.vrbo.com/116069) canceled on us. We had booked and pre-paid that one (#116069) months in advance and the owner canceled on us a week before our stay. It was incredible good fortune that this beautiful place (Bamboo Valley Inn) was still available. Vicki & Tom were good hosts and although we didn't need anything from them, I felt confident that they were around if we did need something. Their home is just down the hill from the units. The unit included a decent wireless internet connection and although our cell provider (T-Mobile) didn't get good reception there, they offered us a cell phone (from verizon or at&t which gets reception) for use if we needed. Vicki also provided a travel crib for our 19 month old which just fit into the second bedroom off the kitchen. Overall an excellent time. Thank you Vicki & Tom!

We stayed two weeks at the Bamboo View Suite and had a really great time there. The apartment was very well equipped, so we didn't miss anything. Everything was brand new. If there was a little 'problem' (i.e. we could not figure out how the TV worked), Tom & Vicky were there immediately to help yet did not impose. Our children loved the horse and loved to give him little treats. The apartment is surrounded by plants and you almost feel like in the jungle: absolutely gorgeous and all you hear is nature. Almost everything on the island is within short driving distance. Baldwin beach is a 15 min drive from the apartment. The beach there is great and offers something to everyone. There is even a protected area ideal for little kids. The beach is not crowded at all. There is plenty of space anytime. We highly recommend the apartment. It is ideal for everybody.

Thanks for helping to make our trip to Maui so beautiful! We loved the Haleakala Suite! There was nothing better than waking up with fresh papaya and llistening to the birds on our porch. Your property was perfectly quiet and mellow, but close enough to all that we needed in Paia! We look forward to coming to Haiku again...someday!
