The house benefits from being in a very convenient site, just a few minutes walk uphill from the centre of the village "Dapia" and from the old Harbour "Paleo Limani", with the sea lying just below the garden gate.
The elegantly restored neo-classical mansion lies in the centre of a pine-shaded garden surrounded by walls and enjoys pretty views over-looking the sea, the traditional port sheltering yachts and greek "kaikies" as well as the hills behind.
The main house accommodates 8 people, and the guest house a further 2 to 4 people.
There is a large pool and smaller Jacuzzi pool below it surrounded by spacious terraces,green areas shaded by olive and lemon trees.

Upper floor – large living room and reception are open on a spacious terrace with amazing views, small design kitchen, guest W.C. Double bedroom open plan with its bathroom and shower.

GUEST COTTAGE:
Sitting room with L-shaped built in sofa beds, dining table and open plan traditional “spetsioti” kitchen.
Double bedroom with shower-room.
STAFF:
A full time maid, gardener/pool boy.
A speed boat for water skiing and trips to beaches can be put at guest disposal, as well as a motor scooter (Vespa), and a bicycle.

Year Purchased: 2000
French family, expatriated in Greece for seven years, we visited the Greek islands almost every weekend and vacations. One day we found this unique island of Spetses. This favorite summer destination of well-heeled Athenians accommodates a range of yachting, sailor and artists in a very relaxing and discrete atmosphere. We fell in love with the island and at first, we decided to rent a house for five years. We then went on and decided to acquire and renovate the most authentic 19th Century Captain's mansion, in the exclusive area of the island. Now that we live in the US we have decided to rent our beautiful property.
Why the Owner Chose Spetses Island
Spetses is an exclusive Greek island, only 2 hours away from Athens, has been elected the favorite summer house location by the Athenian elite. Cars are not allowed on Spetses, and have been replaced by horse-drawn carriages and licensed taxis. Boutiques and restaurants are of a high quality, and the island is generally extremely clean, well-run and tourist friendly. The mainland is a ten-minute water-taxi ride away. This means that you can easily visit the ancient theatre of Epidavros, the old capital city of Greece and even Mycenae (one hour's drive away). Last but not least, half an hour away by speedy hovercraft is the picturesque and cosmopolitan island of Hydra. Adult and the youth can enjoy the elegant and fun night life.

It is the only house on the island which accumulates so many advantages. The house resides by a wonderful site in the old residential area. It is at the top of a hill, surrounded by walls; by which you get an immediate sense of privacy, freedom and relaxation. You can also enjoy the breeze and the different views and sceneries of the sea, along with the island of Hydra, the old harbor and the other green hills. When you don’t feel like swimming in the large pool or being in the Jacuzzi, you will find a picturesque small beach just at the bottom of the garden. You can spend beautiful and peaceful moments by reading or simply relaxing on the hammock or long chairs, under the pine-shaded garden by the sea. The renovation does aggregate all the modern amenities with the caracter of this neo-classical luxurious estate.
