Petite yes, but perfectly positioned for exploring all that vibrant London has to offer. With buses stopping almost at the front door & Ladbroke Grove underground station just a 10 minute stroll away - everything really is at your fingertips. An array of eateries, pubs, markets and shops are within walking distance or are a quick bus ride away. The apartment is compact but provides everything you need including a full kitchen which is great if you want the occasional break from restaurant food. The washing machine/dryer is handy if you are enjoying an extended break. Don't be put off by the basement aspect - as well as being so functional this studio is light, bright, tastefully decorated and most important of all - impeccably clean. Your hosts are warm, welcoming, always ready with tips and suggestions yet are unobtrusive at the same time. Their three toddlers are a delight and add to this property's charm. I stayed 3 weeks & loved every moment. If like me you want an alternative to bland, impersonal hotel rooms and want the opportunity to really experience London, then I highly recommend 'perfectly petite'. I will definitely be back.

We stayed a week in this cozy flat and loved every minute of it. The neighborhood was adorable, quiet and felt incredibly safe. The flat was comfortable, decorated totally chic and had all the amenities of home. The best part for us was being so close to a bus stop and tube station. We were able to get all around the city and back to the apartment each night so easily. The owners were incredibly helpful and made us feel as though they were just a knock away should we have needed anything. Thanks you two for helping us to have the greatest vacation of our lives! London was spectacular and I can't imagine our trip would've been as fun, adventurous or relaxed had we stayed in a hotel. Nothing but good things to say about this place!

My husband and I normally stay in downtown London but chose Perfectly Petite for our most recent stay in the city. What a blissful change from the busy traffic and constant noise. It's a home away from home. All the amenities you'd ever need, close to a supermarket and steps away from Portobello with its many shops and restaurants. Public transport virtually stops at your doorstep so heading over to Southbank for the theatre, the city of London or places farther afield for sightseeing isn't an issue. We have earmarked Perfectly Petite as our home base while in London from here on in. The owners are wonderful - helpful when needed but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. Full marks for Perfectly Petite.
Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know you guys during the 2 weeks of your visit. Looking forward to the next time. Best of luck in the meantime. Philip & Cassie

This was a charming basement studio (which received a lot of natural light despite being in the basement). The owners did a lovely job decorating the apartment and the space is perfect for a single traveler or couple. The location of the apartment is also quite convenient- the neighborhood is quiet but also conveniently located close to the underground (Ladbroke Grove) and several bus stops. There is also a beautiful park nearby. The underground station was closed over the weekend during our stay but we had a good experience taking the bus. Philip and Cassie were extremely welcoming and helpful, and offered suggestions for local eateries and activities, including the Portobello Market, which was a lovely outdoor market running on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The apartment itself was extremely comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. It was especially convenient to have a kitchen so we were able to have some meals at the apartment. We would highly recommend this apartment for a single traveler or couple looking to explore London!
Owner response:Thanks Joanna for your kind words. So glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future. Safe travels til then. Philip & Cassie

Me and my Husband stayed here in July for our long overdue "honeymoon" in London! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay, we were so glad to be greeted at the garden gate when we got there and the place was just perfect for us... The owner was extremely helpful and he even took us for a coffee to help us beat the jet lag. He also gave us some great inside info on places to go in London (Thanks again Philip!). If we can find another excuse to come to London we would certainly stay here again. Thank-you for everything. Jan.

I did not like this apartment because it is underground. I misinterpreted the picture of the entrance and thought that it was at the top of the stairs on the second floor. It is not. It is at the bottom of the stairs, underground. Although the misinterpretation was mine, I feel that the description should have made it clear that we would be staying under the owner's house. I also had an issue with half-eaten food being left in the refrigerator for us. The positives are that the apartment is beautifully decorated and the neighborhood is very quiet. Also, the internet worked very well.
Owner response:Yes the neighborhood is lovely. Peaceful and at the same time very close to great transportation links and the famous Portobello road. The apartment decorations were designed by us to be different than a formulaic hotel and yet calming to live with. Our guests tell us that we got the balance right. The broadband connection is excellent. It is fast, free and unlimited. Many of our business guests have too commented on how useful they found the speedy wifi. We are very sorry that the pictures may have lead you to believe the apartment is not as it is. The wording on the description has been changed in order to prevent any subsequent misunderstanding. For clarity, the "half eaten food" was a jam pot which was not sealed and a ground coffee packet which was similarly unsealed. We apologize for this oversight. We are meticulous in our cleanliness and presentation as all our previous reviewers would agree.

Having stayed in many hotels in London, this was a wonderful change. Great value and very comfortable. Unit is as described and in a nice area. Like everyone says, the bus is not far away and one goes directly to Paddington Station. I would definitely stay here again!

My husband stayed here for six nights in November 2010 and cannot speak highly enough of the apartment and our hosts. The location is wonderful, we had no problems navigating the bus and Tube systems, both of which are easily accessible from the apartment. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Portobello Road is right around the corner. The apartment is cozy, well-maintained, and comfortable. It was so nice to have the amenities of home (i.e. dishwaher, a kitchen, washer/dryer, etc). Philip and Cassie were wonderful and extremely helpful in answering any questions we may have had. I have recommended this apartment to friends and co-workers and in the event we return to London, we will definitely stay here again.

Phil met us when we arrived and showed us around the property and the neighborhood with the adorable twins in tow. The apartment is as shown in the photos in a nice quiet neighborhood. I was surprised to know Phil and his wife just had a new baby boy. We heard almost no noise at all. The murphy bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and modern. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with convenience food items and we were glad to have it in the morning for breakfast and for a small meal. It was also nice to get a load of wash done before we moved on to our next destination. There were helpful maps and tour books about London in the apartment. Most helpful was Phil's guidance with the bus system, including a starter buss pass. Once we started, we never bothered with the underground or anything else. It must be one of the best bust system in world, plus we saw all the major sites along the way. Thanks for a great stay at a reasonable price.
