Terrifc studio, excellent location - it does not disappoint

Petite yes, but perfectly positioned for exploring all that vibrant London has to offer. With buses stopping almost at the front door & Ladbroke Grove underground station just a 10 minute stroll away - everything really is at your fingertips. An array of eateries, pubs, markets and shops are within walking distance or are a quick bus ride away. The apartment is compact but provides everything you need including a full kitchen which is great if you want the occasional break from restaurant food. The washing machine/dryer is handy if you are enjoying an extended break. Don't be put off by the basement aspect - as well as being so functional this studio is light, bright, tastefully decorated and most important of all - impeccably clean. Your hosts are warm, welcoming, always ready with tips and suggestions yet are unobtrusive at the same time. Their three toddlers are a delight and add to this property's charm. I stayed 3 weeks & loved every moment. If like me you want an alternative to bland, impersonal hotel rooms and want the opportunity to really experience London, then I highly recommend 'perfectly petite'. I will definitely be back.

Felt like home!

We stayed a week in this cozy flat and loved every minute of it. The neighborhood was adorable, quiet and felt incredibly safe. The flat was comfortable, decorated totally chic and had all the amenities of home. The best part for us was being so close to a bus stop and tube station. We were able to get all around the city and back to the apartment each night so easily. The owners were incredibly helpful and made us feel as though they were just a knock away should we have needed anything. Thanks you two for helping us to have the greatest vacation of our lives! London was spectacular and I can't imagine our trip would've been as fun, adventurous or relaxed had we stayed in a hotel. Nothing but good things to say about this place!

What a perfectly wonderful spot.

My husband and I normally stay in downtown London but chose Perfectly Petite for our most recent stay in the city. What a blissful change from the busy traffic and constant noise. It's a home away from home. All the amenities you'd ever need, close to a supermarket and steps away from Portobello with its many shops and restaurants. Public transport virtually stops at your doorstep so heading over to Southbank for the theatre, the city of London or places farther afield for sightseeing isn't an issue. We have earmarked Perfectly Petite as our home base while in London from here on in. The owners are wonderful - helpful when needed but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. Full marks for Perfectly Petite.

Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know you guys during the 2 weeks of your visit. Looking forward to the next time. Best of luck in the meantime. Philip & Cassie

Beautiful and Comfortable Studio- Perfect for Two!

Date of Stay: 07/19/11 Review Submitted: 07/26/11

This was a charming basement studio (which received a lot of natural light despite being in the basement). The owners did a lovely job decorating the apartment and the space is perfect for a single traveler or couple. The location of the apartment is also quite convenient- the neighborhood is quiet but also conveniently located close to the underground (Ladbroke Grove) and several bus stops. There is also a beautiful park nearby. The underground station was closed over the weekend during our stay but we had a good experience taking the bus. Philip and Cassie were extremely welcoming and helpful, and offered suggestions for local eateries and activities, including the Portobello Market, which was a lovely outdoor market running on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The apartment itself was extremely comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. It was especially convenient to have a kitchen so we were able to have some meals at the apartment. We would highly recommend this apartment for a single traveler or couple looking to explore London!

Owner response:Thanks Joanna for your kind words. So glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future. Safe travels til then. Philip & Cassie

Me and my Husband stayed here in July for our long overdue "honeymoon" in London! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay, we were so glad to be greeted at the garden gate when we got there and the place was just perfect for us... The owner was extremely helpful and he even took us for a coffee to help us beat the jet lag. He also gave us some great inside info on places to go in London (Thanks again Philip!). If we can find another excuse to come to London we would certainly stay here again. Thank-you for everything. Jan.

I cannot recommend this apartment

Guest: Terri (Lake Tahoe, NV.)
Date of Stay: 03/24/11 Review Submitted: 04/16/11

I did not like this apartment because it is underground. I misinterpreted the picture of the entrance and thought that it was at the top of the stairs on the second floor. It is not. It is at the bottom of the stairs, underground. Although the misinterpretation was mine, I feel that the description should have made it clear that we would be staying under the owner's house. I also had an issue with half-eaten food being left in the refrigerator for us. The positives are that the apartment is beautifully decorated and the neighborhood is very quiet. Also, the internet worked very well.

Owner response:Yes the neighborhood is lovely. Peaceful and at the same time very close to great transportation links and the famous Portobello road. The apartment decorations were designed by us to be different than a formulaic hotel and yet calming to live with. Our guests tell us that we got the balance right. The broadband connection is excellent. It is fast, free and unlimited. Many of our business guests have too commented on how useful they found the speedy wifi. We are very sorry that the pictures may have lead you to believe the apartment is not as it is. The wording on the description has been changed in order to prevent any subsequent misunderstanding. For clarity, the "half eaten food" was a jam pot which was not sealed and a ground coffee packet which was similarly unsealed. We apologize for this oversight. We are meticulous in our cleanliness and presentation as all our previous reviewers would agree.

Having stayed in many hotels in London, this was a wonderful change. Great value and very comfortable. Unit is as described and in a nice area. Like everyone says, the bus is not far away and one goes directly to Paddington Station. I would definitely stay here again!

Great Apartment, Wonderful Location

My husband stayed here for six nights in November 2010 and cannot speak highly enough of the apartment and our hosts. The location is wonderful, we had no problems navigating the bus and Tube systems, both of which are easily accessible from the apartment. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Portobello Road is right around the corner. The apartment is cozy, well-maintained, and comfortable. It was so nice to have the amenities of home (i.e. dishwaher, a kitchen, washer/dryer, etc). Philip and Cassie were wonderful and extremely helpful in answering any questions we may have had. I have recommended this apartment to friends and co-workers and in the event we return to London, we will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I booked this apartment for our honeymoon after reading the reviews on this site and seeing the pictures. The apartment is exactly as pictured! Not only did the apartment deliver everything as promised but Philip and Cassie went above and beyond what was expected and made our stay in London one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. The bathroom amenities, welcome package, and overall friendliness of owners made us feel welcomed and not as if we were just "renters" Will be returning to London in the future and would LOVE to book with them again! 100% Fantastic apartment! Cannot say enough good things about the owners and the apartment. Philip and Cassie- THANKS AGAIN you were wonderful!

Great Apartment, Great Host

Phil met us when we arrived and showed us around the property and the neighborhood with the adorable twins in tow. The apartment is as shown in the photos in a nice quiet neighborhood. I was surprised to know Phil and his wife just had a new baby boy. We heard almost no noise at all. The murphy bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and modern. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with convenience food items and we were glad to have it in the morning for breakfast and for a small meal. It was also nice to get a load of wash done before we moved on to our next destination. There were helpful maps and tour books about London in the apartment. Most helpful was Phil's guidance with the bus system, including a starter buss pass. Once we started, we never bothered with the underground or anything else. It must be one of the best bust system in world, plus we saw all the major sites along the way. Thanks for a great stay at a reasonable price.

A London Treat

Guest: Mountain Folk (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 08/03/10 Review Submitted: 08/13/10

This urban chic retreat is a gold standard for weary travelers and globe-trotters alike. Mere steps from bus routes #7 and #70 into the heart of the City, this flat is a springboard to London’s prime hotspots while likewise holding sway as a welcomed refuge from the hustle&bustle of the tourist magnets. Having the option to french-press our own coffee, home-cook our dinners with local produce from Portobello Market, and unwind and rest our feet in our very own borough flat --- made our 1st London experience regal and effortless. As VRBO veterans who take stock in the guest reviews, my wife and I can unequivocally say that this stay was perfection to the core. An enduring thanks is owed to our gracious hosts Cassie and Philip. Cheers! - Kris & Kirsten

I loved the flat--it was exactly as it was pictured. Wonderful location and a perfect walk to the Portobello Road shopping area or just a bit further up to rest of Notting Hill. It was a working vacation for me so I also appreciated the quiet and the WiFi in the flat. The kitchen was great, the bed extremely comfortable and all my needs were met. I highly recommend the place and will be back.

Perfectly Enjoyable

Date of Stay: 03/18/10 Review Submitted: 03/29/10

My wife and I spent 4 nights in London at this exceptional studio apartment. We found the location to be extremely convenient and certainly afforded us the opportunity to maximize our time, situated in a safe and quiet neighborhood with a less than 3 minute walk to a bus stop, which is a 5 minute ride to the nearest tube station (Ladbroke Grove). Our "4 star" Paris hotel lacked many of the conveniences and comforts that this apartment availed. We enjoyed having a refrigerator and cooking our own meals, saving money by doing so. The bed was spacious and comfortable, which was necessary after a long day of walking about town. WiFi connectivity was reliable and extremely helpful for planning our activities. Philip was kind enough to check in with us just prior to our departure, accompanied by his adorable twin girls (Happy 1st Birthday again!) He convinced me to take a cab to the airport instead of the walking/bus/tube/train ride I had planned, it was more cost-effective and he even made the arrangements for us....needless to say, my wife is eternally grateful for your suggestion.

We had a FABULOUS time here! This is the perfect little place to stay. Getting to the tube was a breeze from bus #7 or #70 behind the house. This place was so much better than we expected. Thanks again Phillip for your hospitality and the info. about the surrounding area. It was great to meet and chat with you as well!

This is a great place to stay! Apartment was cozy and creatively decorated. The comfortable bed and the large shower head provided a relaxing end to long days of sightseeing. The owners are very friendly and provided a gift basket with wine, cheese, bread and other snacks. Nice, quiet neighborhood and only a 10 minute walk to the tube station. Staying here gives you the feeling of living as a local instead of as a tourist. We enjoyed it so much that we recommended it to our friends.
