Exclusive apartment in the heart of Rome just a stones throw away from the Coliseum, Imperial Roman Forum, Mouth of Truth, Domus Aurea and all the major important historical sites.
The property is within walking distance to Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori and across the Tiber river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cozy restaurants.
It's a neighborhood where you can walk everywhere… to restaurants, bars and clubs, great shopping and all forms of public transportation.
The apartment has been newly renovated to offer elegance, comfort and convenience to the most desirable attractions of the city center.
The location simply could not be better as the area is one of the most famous and picturesque of the historical center, surrounded by archaeological sites, artisan and antique shops, theatres, traditional bakeries, colourful markets, designer stores, boutiques, restaurants, typical Italian cafes and winebars where you can flip away your tiredness over a good glass of wine.
The property is on the first floor of a 19th century palazzo, with doorman, in a private oasis sheltered from the hustle and bustle where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere just in the heart of the city. The quiet found inside is unusual for this lively section of Rome.
Fully renewed, it is tastefully furnished with fine modern fittings and the same remarkable equipment. Elegantly appointed with artistic and decorative features as beautiful pictures and mirrors, exclusive tapestries, cozy sofas, precious table with chairs, modern sliding doors, lamps, large wooden walk-in wardrobe.
The apartment has a very warm atmosphere. It has an entrance that leads to a bright living-room with sofas, a dining area with open kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. The sofa is a comfortable sofa-bed (King size, excellent quality), there is also a single bed. The kitchen has all modern fittings and it is fully equipped with all necessary cooking supplies. The bedroom has a King size bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The beautiful bathroom has a big box shower.
The apartment has every comforts: air conditioned, autonomous heating, Satellite TV, FREE WIFI internet, washing machine, telephone, safety box, radio, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, Bed linen and blankets, bath towels and table linen provided.
Just a few meters from the property you'll find the famous mediaeval basilica church Santa Maria in Cosmedin (or de Schola Graeca). The church was built in the 6th century over the remains of the Templum Herculis Pompeiani in the Forum Boarium and Its bell tower is the tallest medieval belfry in Rome. In the porch of this mediaeval Church, on the south side, there is one of Rome's symbols, the so-called 'Bocca della Verita' Mouth of Truth that draws many visitors: this is a large round stone, with a grotesque face in relief with holes through the eyes and the nose, and a larger opening for the mouth.
While in Rome you may like to re-enact the scene in the film Roman Holiday and put your hand over the Bocca della Verità or Mouth of Truth which hangs in the portico of the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. If a jealous lover wanted to test their partner’s fidelity, they would put their hand in the mouth of the stone river god - it was thought that a liar would have his hand bitten off but the faithful lover would go untouched.
And this 'test' is still a must for all tourists and the queue of visitors stretched right down the street, for to have their photo taken with their hand in the mouth of the statue.
It’s a fun thing to do though and everyone seemed to emerge with their arm intact - why not give it a try?
The apartment is right in the historic centre of Rome and from here you can walk to every important interesting point without public transport. However the apartment is very conveniently connected to any city landmark and to Airport by fast and efficient public transportation ( both buses and subway ) and you will enjoy the real Italian style everyday life.
Fantastic location for an unforgettable holiday in Rome!
The entire apartment is for your own use.

The Best Apartment we've stayed!

We had an extremely comfortable 3-night stay at Varuska's apartment. It is very clean, bright and well maintained. We could tell that she has put in much effort in the furnishings and decorating her apartment with good taste. It looks new, and the space is just right for our family of 5. We could dine in comfort. Wifi works very well too. There is a security guard during the day and in the night, the main gate to the building is locked with access to residents only. In the vincinity, there are some nice pizzerias, trattorias and even Chinese restaurants for affordable dining and takeaways. Veruska was always very prompt and helpful and we feel very comfortable and reassured dealing with her throughtout. She also offered a maxivan for our arrival from Termini and departure at FCO which was reliable and convenient. Overall, we felt lucky to have chanced upon this gem as we are new to staying in vrbo apartments. It is the best of the 3 we've stayed in. Thank you, Veruska!

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in june 2011 while honeymooning in Rome. It was one of the best vacation experiences we have ever had. We loved everything about this home-away-from-home. Veruska made the arrangements for the airport pick-up, which we really appreciated specially after a very long trip and a very lengthy process going thru customs in the Fiumicino Airport (20 flights altogether). We are really glad we opted to stay in a private property rather than a hotel - we were so comfortable - far more so that we would have been in a room in a hotel. Veruska the owner was lovely and provided us with lots of information about Rome and recommendations of where to eat locally. There are plenty of good restaurants, Charming Osterias, bars, bakers shops for our bread and croissants. Only a couple of blocks away, there is a colorful square which is also a large open market and every morning can be found fine food, fresh produce, fruit, vegetables, wine, cheese and wonderful bread. The location was great and We really enjoyed our stay. Just steps from Coliseum, the Forums, Venezia square and Trastevere. Everything in the apartment was absolutely perfect, we felt right at home - it was Spotlessly clean, Thoughtfully furnished with nice art, a fully stocked kitchen, free WI-FI internet, books... Towels & linens were plentiful and clean. It was very peaceful at night. We recommend this apartment highly and can't wait until our next visit.

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Italy (2 Adults & 2 Children). Our holiday started with a "last minute" booking with Veruska for the apartment for our first few days in Rome so we were a bit nervous renting a property in a strange city. We couldn't have been more pleased! The apartment was light, quiet, decorated with excellent taste, spotlessly clean and it was also great to have free Wi-Fi internet. The bed was very comfortable and there were spacious wardrobes in the bedroom. The kitchen was modern and convenient, and the wash machine was an added bonus. It was a joy to return to our "home" each evening! The location was fabulous, close to the Colosseum, Imperial Roman Forum, the Mouth of Truth at Santa Maria in Cosmedin, subway station, bus stop, which was a helpful time saver. The photos are accurate. This apartment was lovely and I have already recommended it to friends. Perfect for couples or families with kids. We hope we can return someday! Thank you Veruska!

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in this apartment! Everything was truly perfect! From the moment we arrived at the airport until we departed and everything in between was superb - we could not have asked for a more fabulous vacation. The apartment was incredibly convenient, well-equipped and comfortable. An Excellent accommodation choice for family of 4". We were very pleased with our decision to rent this apartment in Rome. We liked our location. It was in a lovely neighborhood. It was quiet and private and easily accessible to the sites, restaurants and transportation. The information sent by the owner prior to our visit was amazing and so helpful. We had a contact to pre-arrange a car service from the airport, and a greeter to meet us upon our arrival and to orient us to the building and apartment. The apartment was comfortable for our needs and so much better than a hotel room. Great for the independent traveler with a map and a guide book. Our trip to Rome was everything we hoped it would be. It was great to be able to come back to the apartment for a rest and snack before we headed out for more adventures. We can't thank you enough for your part in making our trip so enjoyable.

What a wonderful place to call home for our 6 days in Rome. The apartment was cosy and had all we needed (toilet paper, dish soap, other necessities). After our apartment in Florence, which offered a single saucepan as its cooking supplies, I was thrilled to find a really well-stocked kitchen with plenty of plates, pots, pans, and also staples, like olive oil and salt. The location is great and you can walk to anywhere you want. Nearly everything you want to see in Rome is within easy walking distance: the Colosseum, Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, all just minutes away. The apartment is located in a comfortable, extremely safe neighborhood populated with cafes, restaurants and shops. The owner was very helpful in any way we needed and let us store our luggage all day on Sunday. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and will make every effort to stay there again when I return to the magical world of Rome. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We spent 5 days of May here and what a great place to spend time in a very nice area of Rome. Veruska was very helpful . .The apartment is very Clean, well appointed, and well equipped with WiFi internet and washing machine. Comfortable and a great location with great transportation connections, lots of shops, cafe's. restaurants, and some of the best gelato in Italy. The kitchen was well supplied and the air conditioning was a blessing . Towels & linens were plentiful and clean. We had a wonderful time exploring the most frequented areas of Rome and returning to "our own Roman home" to relax and plan our next day's adventure. Since we like to cook, selecting fresh local ingredients from the local markets provided us with a true taste of Rome. The supermarket that is close by provided us with good inexpensive wine. There are so many places to explore in Rome that it is impossible to mention all of them. Within steps of the condo is the Colosseum, the Forums, Victor Emanual monument Campidoglio (Capitoline Hill) Campo dei Fiori, Venezia square and all the major historical sites.Thank you Veruska for providing us with such a nice place to stay. We would stay here again!

My husband and I have rented apartments in Europe for our annual vacations for the past 20 years, including a previous visit to Rome. This apartment ranks as one of the most beautiful, well-located, and nicely furnished. The owner could not have been better as we corresponded prior to our visit. Everything was clean and in perfect order when we arrived. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Every amenity is provided including everything you need to cook wonderful meals. The wifi worked great on our Mac. It is a short walk to the train station. You can access all the sights easily, then come home to a relaxing oasis. We would walk to the supermarket in the morning to get our supplies (the little shopping basket on wheels was perfect!) - we found a bakers shop for our bread and croissants and my husband delighted in the small cake shop where he would buy a different cake for us to try every day! I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to experience what it really is like to live in Rome!

Our first time in Rome using VRBO, and we couldn't have had a better experience! Veruska was great with communicating prior to our trip, and flexible to our arrival time. We instantly fell in love with the neighborhood and the condo itself - so much better than a hotel. We felt very much part of the local neighborhood; the house is incredibly quiet but you're right in city center and the main tourist spots are all very easily walkable, It's just a short walk to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Venezia square, Campo dei Fiori. After the hustle and bustle of busy Rome, coming "home" each day to this property was one of the best parts of our trip. It was close to walk to all the sites, but far enough to feel that we really got to be a part of Rome as a resident and not just a tourist. This is a wonderful house in a fabulous location. We stayed at the house as a family of four with two kids (8 and 11); it was very comfortable for a week. The house is equipped with everything -- the kitchen has every utensil you could imagine, there are all the sheets, blankets, towels, etc. you could ever want. It was spotlessly clean when we stayed. It was also great to have Wi-fi internet and a washing machine. Although we ate out some, we also shopped at the local markets and had some wonderful meals! Veruska is a great host, and the neighbors are friendly too. If you go, be sure to visit Remo for the best pizza and Volpetti ! Both are 2 minutes from the house. This house is a great base for exploring Rome and not feeling like a tourist! We were able to get a true feel for the way of life of the local people. We very much hope to return again soon - many thanks once again.

We visited Rome the last week in March. This property was everything it was purported to be. Clean and nicely furnished, we spent little time there, but it was great to return to a comfortable place at the end of the day. The central location allowed us to walk to so many major sites in Rome, and the bus stop just in front allowed us quick travel to many areas of the city. It was easy to reach from the train station by taking the metro. An internet cafe just 2 blocks away enable us to stay in touch, and an amazing family owned pizza place around the corner provided a perfect last night experience.

We visit Rome several times (staying in hotels and apartments) but this is the best place we have stayed. This property is safe, clean, bright and efficient. It is located off the street so you have privacy and peace which one needs after the busyness of Rome. The apartment was everything that was advertised and we enjoyed coming back to it every evening after a long day sightseeing. The owner was extremely helpful and acommodating and provided us with lots of information about Rome and recommendations of where to eat locally. The building has primarily full time residents and well maintained. During the day, a security guard is present by the front gate. It's a fun neighborhood to explore: there are many beautiful churches nearby, there's lots of exceptional restaurants, grocery store, butcher shop, fruit seller, bakeries, pizza and stores within walking distance. Only a couple of blocks away, there is a very colorful square which is also a large in-door market, Rome's most picturesque market and its most historical, according to my Travel Guide. This place has been a market for many centuries. Every morning can be found an array of stalls selling fruit, vegetables, cheese and cured meat, magnificent bread and whatnot (clothes, kitchen utensils), and dried fruits and beans. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants around for a quick bite if you get hungry. Also, there are some really nice and different shops around the piazza. Gastronomia Volpetti, close the property, is one of the place where you can buy everything from pizza and sandwiches to some of Italy's best cheese and meats. It's an amazing and crowded place--but there's plenty of high-quality help on hand to guide you. Since the apartment is located in the heart of Rome, staying here provides you with very easy accessibility to all the major tourist attractions throughout Rome. Definitely would use this apartment again if we ever returned to this beautiful city. We had a wonderful time!
